  1. Lively and maxi were terrible tonight on both ends of the floor. Gafford was bad on defense despite his blocked shots but at least he contributed offensively. I can't believe how we couldn't grab defensive rebounds.
  2. kidd likes the offensive spacing he gets with maxi esp down the stretch. same reason lively wasn't getting burn at the end of games. another issue is maxi's the only big who can guard the other team's bigs on the perimeter. as poorly as we guard the 3 point line i think it's a valid point. i don't know what the answer is though b/c when maxi's out there we're getting outrebounded every time.
  3. does geely still own polestar? i lost track a long time ago of who actually owns them. they haven't blipped my radar significantly enough for me to know.
  4. Li auto and Geely are the only other two off the top of my head who are profitable. With Geely it's not by much.
  5. just 6 months before the judge rescinded elon's comp plan the delaware court of chancery ruled that tesla's mid 2010s purchase of solarcity was "entirely fair" - that although the board of directors (which included some of the same members as the later board that would later approve his pay package) could have taken additional steps to be more independent they were "entirely fair" to shareholders due to the resulting success of the implementation of the takeover. this ruling, from june of 2023, was an upholding of a previous trial court's ruling from 2022 that found the exact same thing. it confirmed the standard of independence that had always been used across the industry. yet six months later the standard changed. patently unfair.
  6. i'd say the beatles once you consider their international appeal vs the other two. now add taylor swift to the mix. is that answer still the beatles?
  7. he doesn't scheme. players love him because he doesn't yell at them and doesn't keep them accountable. players also respect his playing career. he's not a leader. he doesn't make his team better. he doesn't keep himself accountable. he wouldn't be a terrible coach for a team that has strong veteran leadership with a solid identity. but he's a terrible coach for a team who needs a strong guiding voice that teaches a team how to win. he should never have been hired for this team. i think cuban hired him b/c he's likable. all the failed free agent trysts with jordan, dwill, dwight howard... plague cuban and he desperately needed someone who FAs and players (esp LD77 in light of his fallout with rick carlisle) would find attractive. hence kidd. we are doing him no favors by keeping kidd as HC. he needs to be strongarmed into growing up. take each game, each possession, the entire process from pregames to postgames to offseason... seriously. i did too but he's been great other than the brunson debacle and who knows what really happened there. i don't think there's a lack of focus on defense. the coaching staff has a plan and the players are trying hard. the gm has been trying to find the players necessary to execute the plan. in reality, the coaching staff's plan is rubbish and is next to impossible to work in today's NBA. you can't have a team of small perimeter guys who can't defend 1v1 rotating all over the floor after collapsing on someone in the paint. every team in the NBA can shoot from behind the arc especially when they're left open because you came off them to help defend.
  8. Wish Katie had come here and Danielle had gone there instead. Still disappointed we missed out on Katie last year.
  9. You were using Amazon to watch your league pass games? I still use my VPN to watch League pass but I go through nba.com
  10. Ordering large Cokes and large fries adds several dollars to your order.
  11. the problem is there isn't a singular long-standing recognized standard for what constitutes independence. in finance the SEC looks at compensation- if you and your family members are far enough removed from any compensation from the company you've satisfied that standard of independence. maybe my knowledge is lacking but as far as i'm aware that's been the standard for corporate governance as it deals with finance for at least the past 20 years.
  12. if you're going to all that trouble please tell me you're using a spray gun to paint. makes a huge difference.
  13. all you're doing is rehashing arguments from a judge who (read her ruling) sees herself as a crusader against greedy corporate interests and in this case, the richest man in the world. in what world is it fair to void a contract, approved by 70+ percent of shareholders which didn't include elon's or his family's shares, a decade later after he'd satisfied the terms? unless you just have a vendetta against him, it's not.
  14. you cherry picked from that article you linked. yes there were market cap milestones- about a dozen of them, but there were also several dozen OTHER milestones that were specifically designed to be independent factors not related to market cap- important things like revenue targets, profit targets, income targets, specifically designed by the board, whom you claim to be musk cronies, to ensure the healthy growth of the company. at the time these were negotiated CEO manipulation of stock price was already a concern. the board's negotiation of these factors in the contract was seen as a moonshot scenario that almost everyone on the street mocked them for, our trading group included. we've spent lots of time looking at TSLA over the years and this was one of the most outlandish scenarios we'd ever come across. this was a most unfair ruling spurred by political interests.
  15. So google pushed an article to me on the presence of micro plastics in tap water. They said research suggests the best thing to do is boil water before drinking. It surrounds the three most common types of micro plastics with a carbon shell that passes through our body instead of being absorbed into our bloodstream.
  16. Oh spare me. BART is terrible unless you're in the city and even then it pales in comparison to Tokyo, London, Paris, HK and NYC. None of those cities are relevant to Austin's situation.
  17. We're not going to let our kids touch our Tesla. It's inevitable they're going to get in an accident and the costs of fixing those things are so much higher than an ICE
  18. did someone free hand that or can you tattoo in specific fonts from a machine now? impressive. even if the picture resembles a label on a gallon of milk.
  19. i wasn't aware they went out of style. shows how far removed from it i am i guess.
  20. he was aware... that he was en fuego.
  21. on a positive note our interior defense is a LOT better this year with lively and since the trade deadline with PJW and gafford. along with that length our smalls have also gotten smarter at knocking out balls when the other teams brings them down below chest level. i think they've picked that up from kyrie- josh and luka especially have noticeable improved in that area. our 3 pt defending is .. woof. we're giving away lots of open looks. we got lucky for a couple games where the other teams didn't convert and the cavs went on a ridiculous streak last night which skews the results a bit but that and our transition defense are now our biggest weaknesses. one thing at a time though.
