  1. Always enjoy your takes and the long view of history that you provide. Sorry if already beaten to death, but what is your view of why Germany has allowed itself to be hemmed in by their reliance on Russian raw materials? I mean, the Germans are often regarded as pretty savvy in technical areas, so it's perplexing to the casual observer why they are where they are. I'm sure there are geographic and long-simmering political realities of which I'm just not aware.

  3. How much gas do you go through in a heavy month where you running snow machine, generators, etc.?
  4. I've wondered how often you have to get gas if you depend to an extent on generators. Where do you store it? I believe one Shaggy wife had pretty good success solving this problem with a plastic knife.
  5. Feels like it will just serve to weed out the 3 stars so that Trump and co. can recruit 4 and 5 star fascists for the next administration.

  8. Looks like a gravy donut.
  9. As I watched that live, I was surprised that the cop didn't start shooting at the crowd chasing him up the stairs. I don't know what he knew as far as the location of Pence.
  10. Never fear, the FBI on its own had decided to post special forces within the Capitol, so it's all good. /s
  11. How do you see this playing out (worst case)? How does Trump throttle any dissenters in the military?
  12. Yes. The last two D's are not in the word in this example.
  13. Green = correct. Yellow = in word but not in correct position. Purple = not in word. The purple D boxes tell you that there is not a second D in the word. Answer is drink. https://www.devangthakkar.com/wordle_archive/
  14. I think some of the cast members read the speculation and fan art that's on there. Pretty funny. The mods on that sub have tightened up the rules to try to prevent spoilers, but the show does drop on Amazon Prime at midnight. So if you browse the reddit between midnight and tomorrow night (and don't watch it tonight), be aware that spoilers do slip through in some of the posts.
  15. The yellowjackets subreddit is pretty good for endless details and theories. https://www.reddit.com/r/Yellowjackets/
  16. Once they take over in earnest (whatever that looks like), I have trouble seeing how you ever put it back together.
  17. Feels like all those months just knowing that Mueller was documenting mountains of evidence and keeping all those sealed indictments dry until the big moment. And then *popcorn fart*, in no small part due to Barr's actions to take over the narrative. LIke the coaching search where the AD is supposedly throwing up smoke screens and misdirection, only to hire someone with a .500 record. Certainly different circumstances, but we've seen this movie.
  18. Schwartz created a slight breach of etiquette by skipping the triple dare and going right for the throat.
  19. Some men are Baptists, others Catholics, my father was an Oldsmobile man.

  21. Always jealous of the feel that females (especially) have for sacred music. Seems so easy for them to throw little things into their playing that makes it great. I'm sure the repetition and collaboration played a huge part in The Beatles developing their understanding of theory and in improving their ability to hear chords/harmonies/etc. Building their musical vocabulary. And a lot of it just came naturally for them. Which Beatle(s) do you think had the most raw talent from a theory perspective -- apart from songwriting? Born with a good ear, ability to hear progressions & see chord relationships, etc.
  22. If it depends on Congress doing the evil deed, don't both houses have to agree to object to a state's electors? If the Rs take the House and Senate in 2022, then what's to stop them from doing that? I seem to remember a scenario like that being laid out in one of the news articles at the end of last year. Here's one of them: https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2020/11/what-if-trump-refuses-concede/616424/ https://ballotpedia.org/Can_members_of_Congress_object_to_Electoral_College_results%3F_(2020)[quote]
  23. Wonder what kind of shenanigans we'll see in 2022 to ensure that the republicans take back the senate and the house?
