  1. I think a LOT of people inside the beltway treat this presidency as a one-off -- a blip on the political radar. That applies to pols and to journalists. This presidency will be over in 1.5 years, and things will return to normal. I don't want to be that guy/girl who goes a bridge too far in his/her rhetoric. I plan to move up the ladder at CNN/MSNBC/CBS/ABC or within Senate/House leadership. If I seem a little off the rails, I may find myself characterized as a fringe nutjob who's not real reliable. I won't get that anchor job or sit as chairman on that committee. Younger journalists/pols will take my place if they show they're willing to toe the line.
  2. In the minds of brainwashed Rs, the Clintons were the standard bearers for everything evil in the D party for the last 30 years. RushFox have focused on the Clintons, but the Libruls have also been painted as pure evil. I think Trump will get a lot of traction from that.
  3. He will get his fair share of undecideds just by branding the D nominee as Hillary 2.0, but worse. This time the nominee is a full blown Socialist.
  4. I confess I don't know enough about the details of how a vote gets from a voter pulling a lever to being part of the actual count. Anyone have any guesses as to how the Russians would change votes? The tweets I posted earlier say that manufacturers of machines have installed cellular modems that could be compromised. I know the Russians looked around in voter registration systems in '16.
  5. Then that bump can be commandeered next year by DOTUS. Rinse and repeat.
  6. Diebold apparently has also installed these cellular modems in some of their machines. Threads https://twitter.com/jennycohn1/status/1063561728238092288 https://twitter.com/jennycohn1/status/1154875195431112704
  7. It's almost like there's a pattern to the type of people that Cheeto attacks. What is it?
  8. Taking money from the military to pay for wall. MAGA.
  9. He's a toddler who throws new shit on the wall every day. It's really hard to imagine 1.5 more years of this. I'm sure all of the hangers-on are finding ways to enrich themselves. Turtle is committing treason in plain view by blocking election security bills. Worst timeline ever.
  10. The one before that too (among other high crimes). Nixon wasn't impeached, but articles included it. ^
  11. Nothing matters example #8574
  12. I would love to see that happen. Could the Ds hold up under the PR pressure from the Rs who would raise hell?
  13. An impeachment inquiry will hopefully be much more effective in consolidating all of the evidence and the crimes into one coherent message. Having investigations going on in separate committees makes it more difficult for voters to follow.
  14. Yes. I guess that's basically where we are now, but for some reason the Ds don't want to call it that.
  15. You just have to laugh at the Ds dancing around calling it an inquiry. Regardless, good for them for going on offense. Hope they keep it up.
  16. Thanks for the info, Twice. I was thinking specifically about Mueller's comments in his report about various witnesses being less than cooperative. I believe there was even some destruction of evidence. Seems like there might be some opportunities there to bolster the case against Trump.
  17. We'll see what happens!
  18. Not a lawyer, so I don't know the answer to this, but I fully expect DOTUS to try to fight discovery during the impeachment inquiry, if it happens. Based on what I've read about it, the Judiciary Committee would have a bit more authority to call witnesses, etc. I don't know how much more. Would those subpoenas have to go through the courts also?
  19. November '20 may as well be 10 years in the future. Rs and their Russian buddies are going to cheat like hell, just like in '16. Defeating him at the ballot box is no certainty. There is one constitutional action that the Ds can take right now, and they should do it. I think the future of the Republic is worth cancelling a 6-week recess. I'll believe the financial evidence when I see it. Maybe it materializes, and maybe it doesn't. Any president before Trump would have been removed for what's in the Mueller report. Not impeaching is normalizing that behavior.
  20. Nancy's had at least a couple of good jumping off points for starting impeachment hearings, but she won't jump. The 47 day recess won't help any momentum that the Ds currently have.
