  1. Yeah, it's not emptying the pool...it's having the adequate pressure to pump 20+ feet vertical to get water to the roof and eaves. I'm skeptical that a submersible from Amazon can do that.
  2. Turns out, "On Call" is a Dick Wolf show.
  3. just stumbled across "On Call". Gritty police procedural set in LGB. so far I'm digging it.
  4. repeat investor client wants to see a house today. We meet at the house. Client asks if I drink. well, yeah. Says her resolution is to give up alcohol, and she's got a well-stocked bar at home. Would I be interested in swinging by her house and "disposing" of the alcohol for her? I give 100% for all my clients. How could I deny such a request?
  5. I think that they fucked up with "Fort Liberty". Name the place after Audie Murphy and then see if the GOP has the stones to reverse it.
  6. *Ridgecrest (I acknowledge that I picked a nit there)
  7. I would have expected a different type of content on a site called "69 bravo" Meanwhile, from Michael Connelly, the author of Bosch and Lincoln lawyer
  8. fucking hotwheels can't resist that tiny orange cock Governor Greg Abbott today ordered all flags to be raised to full-staff at the Texas Capitol and all state buildings on January 20, 2025, in honor of Inauguration Day. Pursuant to federal statute, the U.S. flag should be displayed "especially on...Inauguration Day, January 20." “Texas continues to mourn with our fellow Americans across the country over the passing of former President Jimmy Carter,” said Governor Abbott. “President Carter’s steadfast leadership left a lasting legacy that will be felt for generations to come, which together as a nation we honor by displaying flags at half-staff for 30 days. On January 20, our great nation will celebrate our democratic tradition of transferring power to a new President by inaugurating the 47th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump. As we unite our country and usher in this new era of leadership, I ordered all flags to be raised to full-staff at the Texas Capitol and all state buildings for the inauguration of President Trump. While we honor the service of a former President, we must also celebrate the service of an incoming President and the bright future ahead for the United States of America.”
  9. Meanwhile, a lifelong friend of mine has a nice home in Chino Hills that backs to a nature preserve. I just texted him that he needs to buy a gas operated water pump, so he can use his pool water to protect his house if necessary. He agreed.
  10. The Pentagon said Friday that two military C-130 Hercules aircraft equipped with a firefighting system are now flying over Los Angeles and helping with efforts to put out the massive fires that have devastated the area. The update comes two days after Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh told reporters that 10 Navy helicopters equipped with water delivery buckets would be deployed to the fire while several firefighting C-130s were being readied and standing by. Speaking to reporters Friday, Singh stressed that the size and scope of the Pentagon's response to what has already become California's costliest wildfire was entirely up to the state and other federal agencies and not the Defense Department. Nearly One-Quarter of Soldiers at Fort Liberty Are Using Nicotine Pouches Los Angeles has been beset by some of the worst fires in the city's history for several days, and the situation has only been made worse by intense seasonal winds. The inferno has killed at least 10 people -- a number that's expected to rise -- and destroyed thousands of structures and triggered evacuation orders for 180,000 people, according to The Associated Press. Both Singh and Navy officials said that the helicopters are now functionally ready to go -- though Singh noted they did have to be certified by California's Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, or CALFIRE, first. Several Navy helicopters were spotted by a photographer practicing using firefighting buckets in San Diego harbor on Thursday. "They're preparing and ready to go for when California is ready to receive them," Singh said. Military.com reached out to the Navy for details about what squadrons and helicopters are being tapped for the effort but did not hear back in time for publication. Meanwhile, Pentagon officials have said that, since the fires have come outside the traditional firefighting season, some of the C-130s had to be refitted with Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System units -- technology that turns the cargo planes into firefighting aircraft without major modifications -- which also took time. Singh said six more C-130 airplanes are expected to be ready by Sunday. She also announced that 500 active-duty personnel currently stationed at Camp Pendleton, California, are preparing to support firefighting efforts. A Marine Corps official told Military.com on Friday that, while the Marines were ready to respond "just as we would from a MEU for any crisis across the globe," they had not received a formal request from the Federal Emergency Management Agency or the Department of Homeland Security. While laws vary from state to state, outside of extraordinary circumstances, the military cannot simply deploy troops or assets to aid in disaster relief without authority from a governor. Furthermore, active-duty troops require additional logistical considerations like lodging and transportation that become major issues during an ongoing natural disaster. In the case of these fires, Singh stressed that the Defense Department was "in a supporting role and FEMA is coordinating the federal assistance and response." Meanwhile, more than 600 California National Guardsmen have been activated, "including 14 hand crews for fuel mitigation, 200 military police for security operations, and 10 helicopters for firefighting and search-and-rescue operations," Singh said. "We're going to work with California with whatever they need when it comes to addressing these fires happening on the ground," she said. -- Drew F. Lawrence contributed to this report. 11. Looting isn't a pimple-on-the-ass of "a problem" out here. We've got 99 problems, and looting ain't one.
  12. there is no widespread looting. There is a handful of assholes, as there always are.

  20. We have a local carwash that's a drive-thru deal and you use the vacuums and towels yourself. Woman forgot to put her car in neutral and ran into the back of me. Her insurance was AAA. Because I was driving a Mercedes, they offered a "luxury" rental, and gave me a Cadillac SUV while mine was in the body shop.
  21. I ran autoslash for Irvine. Econobox for $131 for 7 days. That's less than $20 a day. You can probably get a decent midsize for 30 a day.
  22. Anybody who thinks it's a permanent solution is a fool, but it works fine for a short term deal 12-24 months or something. Gives a buyer a chance to get rid of debt and/or clean up credit to be able to get their own financing.
  23. what's her surly handle?
