  1. Nailed it with Niles. This is my favorite scene ever. No dialogue
  2. Good Lord, don't know how I'm just seeing this. This must have been around the time that JD Simo was leaving and Donato was replacing him.
  3. That was pretty cool. Don't think I've ever heard him sing and that song is so much different from what I've heard him play. Most of those guitar gods that came up through the house band at Robert's Western World are gun slingers, but this has a really different vibe to it. Thanks for sharing this. An assortment from his time at Robert's.
  4. They only released it on the Playback box set. I actually bought that just because Ways To Be Wicked was on there.
  5. That's what I've read about the Laney clone. Replacing that speaker is down my list of things I wanna do. Going to see how well this thing holds up before I put any money in to it.
  6. Put some more time in with the Monoprice. Again, it's my first amp with an effects loop. With my pedals all in front, it was a humming/noise making mess but with the dirt/OD in front and the time effects through the effects loop, boy is it sweet. I'm really liking this thing, ESPECIALLY for sub $400 tube amp. Still, I think those folks who say it is so much better than a Blues Jr are kind of silly. I've been running a stereo setup with this and a Jr and they actually do well together. I was really hesitant to buy this thing. Just KNEW I was going to be sending it back, but it is doing exactly what I wanted it to do. Know idea how well it will hold up if I decide to take it out of the house to practice so I'll keep you updated.
  7. I saw them on the "Shelter" tour. Show was at the Fast and Cool Club in Dallas. That second iteration of the band wasn't as country as the original. Once Marvin Etzionni left the band, they really changed.
  8. Sorry @Rip76 Didn't mean to repost. You must have just beat me on that one.
  9. They wrote it for themselves. I think it was Jimmy Iovine knew of the song from his work with Petty. He was also working with Lone Justice when they first got signed. Petty didn't like the song and wasn't going to use it, so Iovine took it to LJ.
  10. This isn't the version on the album, but I love Margo Price.
  11. Stapleton is on the Petty Country Tribute album. He does an obscure song off of Mojo called "I Should Have Known It". Pretty much note for note cover. Rest of the album highlights: Dolly doing Southern Accent, Margo Price doing "Ways To Be Wicked" with Mike Campbell and George Straight on a live version of "You Wreck Me" with Mike Campbell. Joe Manuel's acoustic solo on that thing is fantastic. Whoever does "Wildflowers" does a decent job.
  12. Ah...didn't know they were doing a cheaper model.
  13. That is cheaper than a new one.
  14. I got on their bandwagon early, just after that first EP. Seen them multiple time. Never seen her play anything but a standup bass. Really like the way this changes the bands sound. She plays a killer solo when when they cover Bohemian Rhapsody. They put on an INCREDIBLE live show, especially if you can catch them in a club, versus an auditorium. Saw them at the 9:30 Club in DC about 10 years ago while they still had the original lineup. One of the best shows I've seen. The girl I took with me had never heard of them. During the show, she told me, "I'm not gay, but I would do that lead singer".
  15. When my BBQ team was going strong, one guy always put the radio on an Atlanta classic rock station. We would play Classic Rock Roulette. $1 in the pot each round. Goal is to guess the next artist. No one gets it, the pot rolls over. You could never win much money because between the 6 of us, someone almost always guessed it. I think 3 rounds was the largest pot we ever had. About like Amanda Shires talking about country radio. I can hold my breath longer than I can listen to classic rock radio.
  16. I really want a Hummingbird, J200 or a J45. I keep going back and forth on which one I want.....first. I also have really liked Reverend guitars when I tried them out. Also been kind of digging this Charlie Starr model.
  17. I like the way those albums are framed. Really good look. Most of my concert posters were hanging in my office but I recently brought them all home. Need to do something with them in my basement.
  18. How in the fuck does one lose a credit card between the gas pump and the car? Asking for a friend.
  19. NAD. Monoprice arrived yesterday. Just spent an hour testing it out. Shipping was very fast. Double boxed. No candy. About the same size/footprint as a Blues Jr. Tad lighter. Seems to be well constructed. Not the prettiest thing on earth. Guitar straight in. Decent sound. Has bass, mid, treble, but also a tone knob which works wonders. Gain and volume are both responsive. No switch for the reverb so I'll have to dig one out of the closet. Doesn't get as loud as my Jr. but the tone is nice. I have electrical noise issues in my basement but it doesn't seem to be any noisier than my other amps. The so-called attenuator is a joke. 15 to 1 watt switch just turns it to a muddled mess at a lower volume, especially if using pedals. With guitar straight in, it still isn't that nice of a tone but if it is just you trying to play quietly, it is almost ok. I had better luck just turning down the volume on the guitar. Attenuator on Vox AC4 is MUCH better. For a sub $300, it sounds better than the Orange 35RT. I'm pleasantly surprised as I just wanted a cheap amp with an effects loop. Interesting to see how long the tubes last. I haven't messed with the effects loop yet.
  20. I'm convinced that women are just not constructed to be happy, nor content.
