  1. @Celery Man The other dude in the picture is my buddy who has Arena Rock Recording Co (record label) and a great podcast called "The Bottom Forty". The has interviewed Bob Stinson, and Paul Westerberg in formal interviews. This with Tommy was more just talking Several years ago, Paul only did one interview that year and it was by my friend. Anyway, he told me "Tommy played mostly solo stuff and Bash & Pop material. Lots of new stuff. He is sober now, and lucid. Very nice, not snarky like in the past. He told me a story of them doing blow off the amps at Sloss Furnice (Birmingham, AL venue) and then pool sharking afterwards and nearly getting killed in some pool hall later that night."
  2. Heard something today that really rang true for me. A lot of the times, when I think I'm having a craving, it is actually more about nostalgia than truly craving a chemical substance. Was talking with a friend from my IOP at a monthly dinner recently. He said that early on, he was just working on keeping the darkness out of his life. He said that once he quit that started trying to let the light in, it all became much easier.
  3. I really like this one. I found one called Playing With Fire........musically I like....lyrically.....not so much........
  4. Damn...I had no idea. Thanks for posting this.

  6. They're hitting the ground like bags of wet cement! With God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly. Sent from my Lenovo TB-X606F using Tapatalk
  7. This dude. Tommy Stinson from Replacements and Bash & Pop.
  8. Much bigger band. I'm not sure he can ever go back on there SNL set.
  9. Hint 2:. We can't rock without Bob.
  10. Long way off. Hint 1:. Former bass player.
  11. You can't be sure of that considering who it is.
  12. Last night, this dude played at a guitar shop in Portland. They told he to pick any guitar in the place, and this is what he grabbed. Anyone wanna take a stab at who this is? I would still be guessing if my buddy hadn't given me a hint.
  13. I gave up googling people I was in rehab with. It was depressing seeing how many had died. I was in a music program and it was about the only place you could really talk to chicks and this one cool chick was in our group. Incredible singing voice and a vocal teacher but her life has been horrible. She was just one of the saddest people I have ever met. You could see it in her eyes. I talked to her a couple of times after we got out, but I'm scared to death to google her name.
  14. Cool stuff. Kind of a Brazilian music vibe to him. I was thinking about getting my granddaughters each a ukulele for Christmas but you can get a Yamaha branded one of these for about $100. I may look around for one of these. Rabbit Hole time for Hulla...
  15. I'm the same way about slide. Funny thing though, in his other bands, I don't remember him ever playing slide. Dude was frighteningly talented.
  16. I'm going to put this one here. One of the great, unknown guitarist passed about on 10/27/21. Rick Kurtz, from Birmingham. He was a really nice guy and one of the best guitarists I've even been around. He toured mostly with Delbert, Watch him in action here with Stephen Bruton and Delbert. That strat on the stand is probably my favorite guitar of all time. I saw one yesterday that looked just like it at a used shop and if I can scramble the money up before it is gone, I'm going to own one. [/url] https://www.al.com/life/2021/10/rick-kurtz-guitarist-and-former-mainstay-on-birminghams-music-scene-has-died.html This is probably my favorite of him with another Birmingham legend and friend, Lolly Lee. In the late 80s and early 90s, Birmingham had a wealth of musical talent and these two were at the center of much of the action. It is a damn shame none of them got more well known. RIP to Rick Kurtz.
  17. Holy shit. I love the comment "Funds will not benefit original owner"
  18. This is the door I have. https://www.chickenguard.com/ Easy to set up and adjust. Maybe once a month, one of them will fuck around and not get in. I love it. I have mine set up to open at a given time in the morning and it shuts just before it gets dark. It can also be set up to open in relation to the sunrise. The hens are amazing in that as the days are getting shorting, they still make it in about 5 minutes before the door shuts.
  19. Pic. There are hooks on each side for cables.
  20. I agree with PedalTrain. I bought a two-tiered Holey Board and really thought I would like it. It turned out to be a huge PITA when I had to move it to practice or to go play. Plus, the holes aren't big enough to run cables through an while it might sound OK to use zip ties to hold down cables instead of velcro, it is not. HUGE PITA. Looks bad and it just isn't easy to do. I still have it and am thinking about making it a permanent board in my basement, but it will never leave the house. I now just use a Nano+ and it completely fits my needs. I have one pedal I swap out, depending on which group I'm playing with but the other 4 stay consistent. I also built a rack cabinet with 2 power supplies, a slide out table for pedals and a drawer for supplies. I put that Nano+ on top so I don't have to squat down to adjust things. Also, my interface sits on top. That cabinet is probably the smartest thing I've done. I'll post a picture a bit later. I would like to find that same Gator case that @tbone_ has. Right now my mixer is on a stand-alone stand and I'm really not happy with that set up.
  21. I had never noticed this. Great catch. I started looking up live version and in some of them, in the line before "it can't all be wedding cake" he sings horribly off key.....has to be on purpose to match the sentiment of the line. Brilliant stuff.
  22. Sadly.....no. She is from Omaha and the only thing that happens there is three CWS and Warren Buffett's big shindig. That is the extent of her sports knowledge, outside the fact that ou sucks. And, to her credit, when she started to repeat it, she said, "oh.....never mind"
  23. Her:. Why aren't they playing this college world series in Omaha? Me- College plays baseball in the spring. This is the pros. Her:. So where do they play the college world series for the pros?
