  1. NBC's coverage has been horrid. A prime example was men's swimming in the 400 IM. Kalisz (US) was leading most of the way. Litherland (US) was 6th going in to the freestyle swim. After the turn, Kalisz has is won....the only think in question was silver and bronze. Instead of showing the full shot of all lanes, they showed a head-on, shot of Kalisz, for almost 10 seconds. They never really showed a shot of the incredible run that Litherland had to make up all of that ground to finish second and barely mentioned it. In watching the replay, it doesn't look as bad, but when it was happening, I couldn't figure out why they were showing a headon shot of one guy while there was an amazing comeback happening. Plus, throw in the fact that Litherland's mom is from Japan and he was born there....that is the kind of shit they usually beat to death. The last lap starts at: 3:20.....and of course, NBC has it blocked so you can't paste a video here. (See if this works https://lmgtfy.app/?q=2021+olympic+swimming+400+im+replay But the coverage of the 400m hurdles was outstanding. What a race.
  2. On the east coast, there are a lot of fake Percocet that are killing off people. I know of about 5 rarely recently. Media, the FDA, DEA and Congress are all to blame. I'm currently listening to Patrick Radden Keefe's book, "Empire of Pain". It makes me stabby to learn how the FDA and DEA were essentially paid off through the Sackler's reign and the continuing impact this is having.
  3. I was primarily talking about the fact that the bands I listed all found different ways to die than your run-of-the-mill-rock-star-OD.....ham sammich aside. (motorcycles, airplanes, car wrecks and fucking cancer). But I guess, in the end....dead is dead.
  4. I'm not smart enough to understand how all of that shit works. His reasoning was these were back up options in case the artist's main rig shit the bed. He said they could fill any amp need with just these two. I love these old school guys. He was showing me around his home office one day and it was amazing how many famous records and movies he had engineered over the years. Most of the albums he worked on were live recordings and he apparently still does a lot at the Ryman which has to be about the coolest thing I've heard about him other than engineering "The Class of 55" with Orbison, Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis.
  5. I was talking with an old recording engineer from Nashville. (He has worked with everyone from Johnny Cash to Faron Young to Mollie Hatchet.) We were on a Zoom meeting and he spotted my 65 DR in the background and we started talking. Great dude. Anyway, he told me they use to carry two amp set ups in their van in case someone needed a backup. One was a Marshall head and cab, he couldn't remember the model. He said the other was a Fender Twin that had two different speakers loaded and you could run either speaker or run them both. I had never heard of an amp set up that way.....pretty cool idea....essentially two amps in one.
  6. Those southern rock bands are just snake bit. Allman Bros, Skynyrd, and Marshall Tucker Band all had a rash of deaths of members and former members at relatively young ages. Cars, motorcycles, airplanes and cocaine.
  7. If talking original members, you would be trading Rossington for Duane... And Rossington just had another heart surgery, so if you wanna trading living for dead, better hurry.

  9. My wife, daughter and two granddaughters are headed out for a day of shopping. They walked out to the car. 8. 8 is the number of times at least one of them has come back in the house looking for something they left/forgot. My over/under was 8.5 and even though they pulled out of the driveway, I still expect them to return to get me to the over. And this doesn't count the 17 minute search session they had for wife's phone and daughter's car keys. The next time they come back in, I'll see if any of them has seen the Dremel tool.
  10. I traded an LP for a 1962 Epi Century some time ago and the guy wants it back. He has offered this in exchange plus a Korean made Breedlove D25 that I have no use for. Not going to do it because I love the guitar but kind of a cool amp. I could buy this amp/cab new for what he paid for the guitar when he bought it at Carter's in Nashville.
  11. Sounds good in theory. Lacked some in deft touch execution. Baboso is trying to track down a pic.
  12. Kirk Hamilton does a great episode about Mr. Blue Sky https://podcasts.apple.com/fi/podcast/mr-blue-sky-by-electric-light-orchestra/id1443417194?i=1000435132399
  13. I've got that AC4. LOVE the thing. I have been using that to record a lot lately and it is amazingly versatile. And that little dude LOVES P90s. I've got an 62 Epi Century with a single P90 and it doesn't really sound good thru any other amp I have, but it LOVES that Vox. I also use this as my practice amp for a 50s/60s group I play in. We played a party on Memorial day and I took it for that as well. I have the 10" speacker which I think that one is. They also make a 12" that I wish I had. I paid $200 for this thing...tried several times to trade it in or sell it before I really spent some time with it. They would only offer me $75...fuck that. Then I got the Epi. Since then, I've been playing a 339 a lot through it as well.
  14. Deft touch. Ha. I'll see if I can find the picture. Baboso on here has a nephew who has a guitar. He ended up with Baboso's dad's branding iron and thought it would be a cool idea to brand that guitar. I mean Gretsch did it, right?
