  1. Gaines joined Skynyrd in July, 1976, so that Knebworth clip was a month later. He was actually on the recording of that One More From the Road live one but he was so knew, he just stayed in the background one most of that recording.
  2. Taking care of a friend's chickens. This guy surprised me. That coop is 5' front to back.
  3. I ran out of gas. I had a flat tire. I didn't have change for cab far. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake, terrible flood. Locusts. It wasn't my fault....I swear to God! Yep. AUTF. Makes me so happy.
  4. I tell my wife that Sweetwater sells candy. So far, she has yet to question.
  5. Ahh yes, when she'd lie about going into "the studio" to broadcast her hour segment. In reality she was using a PC app and you could hear her cat in the background while she read random political shit from other websites. That's the one! I could smell that apartment over the interwebs. Cat shit, ammonia and magazine perfume samples.
  6. She tried to have a talk show about current events that lasted about 2.5 days. It was horrible.
  7. I ordered and paid for a pedal from CME. It was shown on their website. A week later, they sent me an email that they already sold it. Took about a week to get my money back and the pedal was still shown on their site. Sweetwater and Wildwood, at least from what I've seen, has better customer service....your mileage may vary.
  8. Bruce Robison and his gang at The Next Waltz continue to knock it out of the park.
  9. Euclid Yacht Club in Little Five is one of the great day drinking bars.
  10. Music starts at 2:38. KILLER version of T for Texas:
  11. Said it many times on here but Steve Gaines was about to change the direction of that band. These two songs show where they were headed. Not sure Collins and Rossington would have stuck around for it, but it would have been fun to watch. Somewhere, there is a clip from the 77 show of them doing "I Know A Little" but Steve's version is eye-opening. The 77 show was 3 months before the plane crash. They were set to play in Ft. Worth for NYE of that year and my 15 yr old ass had tickets. You Got That Right Steve doing "I Know A Little" before joining Skynyrd
  12. One of the great haikus of all time....from a predecessor of this site. Would not kiss my mouth Disgusted by my choppers Came on my big jugs.
  13. I used to have Orkin treat my yard for mosquitos. My pollinators quickly left and took 2 years to come back. Asked my county agent and he said the best way to handle mosquitos is for all of your neighbors to spray and you don't have to. Right now, the guy behind me and the guy across the street spray. If I could just get the other two assholes in line, I would have it made.
  14. On why they split up, Plant said something about she didn't share his penchant for cider and then something about the Black Country character he was after he had 4 pints.
  15. I saw Bowie on the Serious Moonlight tour when Stevie Ray was supposed to tour with him. That MSG setlist is incredible. I LOVE that opening number, "Up The Hill Backwards." About the only song I see missing that I would want to hear would be Cracked Actor.
  16. That song was really brought to life when Shawn Colvin did her incredible Cover Girl album.
  17. Prine covered it as well. Written by Rowland Salley who was/is Chris Isaak's bass player. Damn....someone posted a version of the original, released around 87/88.
  18. U2 would have been been on the Joshua Tree tour. That was a really good show. Petty was "Let Me Up I've Had Enough" following on the Southern Accents tour. (THAT was a great show, but any Petty show was great) Bowie was on the Glass Spider tour on the release of Never Let Me Down. I think Frampton was in that touring band that time around. I saw the Cars on the the one before (83/84ish). Great band...TONS of great songs. Their concert was just kind of boring. Maybe a bad night, but they just seemed tired and going through the motions. I never heard that album that came out in 87.
  19. No idea. Whore blocked me a long time ago when I praised her ability to heal broken bones. Just can't please some people I guess.
  20. And as far as spiritual lyrics...it's hard to beat this verse. Tell me Lord, if you think there's a wayI can try to repayAll I've taken from youMaybe Lord, I can show someone elseWhat I've been through myselfOn my way back to you. And I would stack this performance of this song up against "He Stopped Loving Her Today". Damn, Kris could write.
  21. A couple of years ago, Amanda Shires summed it up perfectly. "I can hold my breath longer than I can listen to country radio."
  22. The Attention Whore could have really used her one of a kind battery-less battery powered drill to fix that properly.
  23. Some GREAT advice above. I think several us on here have stories of setting out to buy one specific guitar and walking away with something completely different.
  24. Butch Walker is behind a lot of Pink and Alanis' these days. Dude works magic and can write a fucking pop song and puts on a by god Rock Show when he plays live.
