  1. I'll do my best to shorten this. I knew a guy who was dating a girl in LA in the early 80s in LA. She was an aspiring singer...he was running from some Columbians in South Florida who felt he didn't treat them fairly in a business dealing. Her name was Jennifer and he knew she was from Nashville. One day, she goes home to see her folks and then calls and says for him to come out to Nashville. Tells him to go to John Wayne airport....a plane would take him to Nashville and a car would pick him up. He walks into the back door of the house and his girlfriend says, "Why don't you go in and meet my dad. He is in there with some friends." He walks in to the den and see Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Robert Duvall. It then dawns on him. Jennifer Jennings. From Nashville. Jennifer is actually Duane Eddy's daughter, but Waylon adopted her when he and Jessi got married. They ended up getting married and he works for Waylon and Jessi until the divorce. I've seen the wedding pictures, tons of pics from planes and busses and picture of Jessi coming down the stairs in a short, short night gown. I tried to steal it but he made me give it back.
  2. Iconic! Hell Yes! So many GREAT things about this photo, but the blurred neon beer bottle is the icing on the cake. First time we saw Charley, the guy sitting next to me said, "He's a gotdamn minstrel. " Yep...and an old school Honky-Tonk one at that. Old soul/old school gets thrown around WAY too much, but with Charley, it fits the bill.
  3. Honestly, if I had thought of it at the time, I would have. Just get in the boat and keep going until I hit the Gulf of Fucking Mexico, then decide what I'm going to do. I was just so fucking pissed at the time I was seeing stars. It wasn't until about an hour later that I thought of it. I honestly have never been more pissed at her than I still am, and it has been 4 fucking days.
  4. Great looking pup @MaybeACoordinator. Definitely agree that looks like some heeler...especially markings on his chest. A heeler, GSD would be a fantastic mix. Can't wait to see what the hound ends up looking like.
  5. 2014 was still good quality. 2015 was the year of the dipshit at Gibson...at least one of the years. I bought the last new 2014 in metro Atlanta.
  6. Point will never be approached, much less crossed. At least from my experience.
  7. I hope they have done a structural survey of The Tabernacle. After sitting vacant, that floor may collapse again after people come out for this run at that place.
  8. I was in there one day and Harry comes in. There are about 6 people doing some day time drinking. He says, "Who wants some fuckin' pizza" to no one in particular, then orders about 20 pizzas to be delivered. Somewhere I still have a Crazy Bucket.
  9. Rhetorically question, I know but fuck me running. We head out kayaking. Loading up is always a fucking a beating when wife is around...."did you did this,,,,where is my......did you get my....did you remember..... Put I'm always cool with it because one you hit the water, peace and calm and zen and shit. Called the place....they are still releasing from the dam....PERFECT! Get there...unload the fucking boats and get everything set up. Then the chick from the hatchery shows up to unload 2,300 lbs of brown trout into the river. Always fun to watch. Then start getting ready to lead and some asshole walks up and says, "You shouldn't put in now." I will spare you the back and forth between that asshole, myself and my wife. Essentially, he was saying we can't put in because it is dangerous. You can put in lower below the dam but not here. Do you work for the park service, sheriff's office, DNR, police, fire, swift water rescue, lake authority? Nope. Wife decides she doesn't want to go because "it might not be safe". I was beyond pissed. Why if the fucking hell do wives listen to other people before their husbands. Usually it is a friend who says that Man of War of the best race horse of the 70s while watching the Preakness....but this motherfucker was just walking thru the parking lot. Never mind that the chick who WORKS ON THE FUCKING RIVER EVERY DAY didn't say a fucking thing about it. And never mind that I'M the one who took the day off work, loaded and unloaded everything up and she is going to believe some asshole who tells her 'we can't go.'. Usually this shit is funny...but this happened Monday and I'm still beyond pissed. Then, yesterday....she says, "When are we going kayaking?" Never, with her, as far as I'm concerned. "When are you going to put the kayaks back in the basement (They are in the garage right now and she can't park....well, two of them are...the other two are STILL ON MY FUCKING PICKUP. I should have just put my fucking boat in the water and left. Actually didn't think of that until later because I was so fucking pissed. Yesterday, I finally calmed down a tiny bit and asked her, "Why did you listen to him...some dumb bastard you have NEVER met and will never meet again. "I had a bad feeling about the river that day." Will someone please kill me.
  10. JB's Sports Bar, Come As You Are?
  11. Good idea. Our forefathers would be proud when you bring home a new amp in celebration of Flag Day and Independence Day.

    Kayaking

Got some Chattahoochee time in this weekend.
  13. WOOOHOOOOO. We're getting a new guitar!
  14. @noharleyyet How is she doing after her stroke? Did she mention it?
  15. My grandmother had one of these. I thought my cousin was going to get sucked completely through that thing one day. But remember these? They are AWESOME when you ran that through the wringer, once you got the adjustments down.
  16. I've never really thought about my favorite Heart record. I'd probably go with Dog and Butterfly. Need to pull out all the old vinyl and listen back through. I just know that whoever recorded those drums needs a hearty pat on the back.
  17. I've read that about Boston. He has all of that time to put that record out...then with the success, he was pushed to put out a second record before he was ready.
  18. Dammit. I left off "Look Sharp". I have long thought that greatest opening song an any debut album is "One More Time" from "Look Sharp". I need to go back and relisten to Dreamboat Annie. I always forget how great that record is. For me, so many of my debut favorites are my favorite from that artist. Not the same with Heart...but that record is so well done.
