  1. One of life's consistencies.
  2. Good stuff. Plus her opening and closing podcast music is done by a couple of Austin musicians, Carrie Rodriguez and Gina Chavez. I admit I have a possibly unhealthy infatuation/borderline stalking relationship with Carrie.
  3. Best of luck @hundredTT. Like any good drunk, I fucking lied at my intake interview about how bad I was and it almost bit me in the ass. They were going to recommend a 14 day stay when I KNEW I needed at least 30 days. Thankfully, my BP skyrocketed and they convinced my insurance company to pay for 30 days.
  4. Holy fuckity fuck that Tele-Sonic!
  5. Hope everyone is having a good week. My buddy I've talked about who was in jail got paroled yesterday after the debacle a month ago. So happy for him and his family.
  6. 6 pages? To quote a Shaggy poster from days of yore when someone was fawning over Ina Garten, "What the fuck is wrong with you people?"

    The Police

I'll sum up my Police fan boy status with this.

And Ian former FBI (Frontier Booking International). Loved that.

    The Police

I LOVED this. Was a huge Stan Ridgeway fan and those first two Ridgeway albums were fantastic. They put this on an IRS Sampler that came out a long time before the movie.

    The Police

TOTALLY agree on all points. And they got out without releasing a bad album. (To me, Ghost in the Machine is my least favorite, by a LARGE margin.) In one of those early documentaries, Stewart has tape across the rides. The read, left to right, Fuck Off You Cunt. The scene where Stewart and Sting go into the dressing room and start slamming doors and yelling at each other.... the last part is AND SHUT THE FUCKING DOOR!. Andy calmly looks in to the camera and says, "and shut the fucking door". Every documentary I've watched on the Police, I come out believing Andy was the only one you could stand to be around. Seems like such a cool dude and his guitar knowledge is out of this universe.
  11. Pedal Question but posting here. Because I wanna. I have an MXR Super Bad Ass Distortion and want to replace it. It is noisy AF. Sounds like it has an air hose leak. What other distortion pedals are we using? I'm not looking for any super high gain stuff. Just want something for dirt at lower volumes.
  12. WOOOHOOOOOO. We're getting a new amp!
  13. I have a really cute Australian entertainment lawyer Ahem........ Also, can you go into more detail on how you set up the publishing company and what that entails? Maybe in another thread or one of the other music ones? The cost, process of doing it, etc.
  14. The rights for music on podcasts are DRASTICALLY different from those for radio, advertising, and youtube. They are MUCH more strict. I've done a little research on this, enough to know that if you want to use someone's music on a podcast, you have to pretty much get their approval for each specific song. I'm trying to find out how the dude from the Strong Songs podcast is able to do what he does. But for something like this, having original music is the way to go. I think the guys who run the Dopey podcast have done a cool thing with that one. Something like the lyrics that @Pato del Muerto posted. Liked what @phdhorn entry as well. Interested to see what @Celery Man and the rest of the Surly Guitar Mafia can come up with.
  15. She apparently wrote this song herself. I despise all of those Voice/American Idol/Talent whatever shows and this girl has apparently stayed away from all of that. She is signed with Scooter Braun's mega-whatever he does (Big Machine) so she is on the management team with a lot of the horrible bro-country crap, but also with Ray Wylie Hubbard so it can't be all that bad. Jennifer Nettles saw her somewhere along the lines and has helped her along. She has a ton of youtube videos of all kinds of covers but her EP just came out. Thoughts? And watch your mouth...she is underage.
  16. If you haven't seen the making of Whiskey In Your Water, it is a fun look into the process.
  17. https://www.savingcountrymusic.com/evan-felker-emerges-performing-at-benefit-with-teague-brothers/ Though the appearance was unexpected, music promoter Jennifer Redding was there with camera in hand to capture much of the set. With the Teague Brothers backing him up and while sporting a full-blown mustache, Evan Felker performed “7&7,” “Gin, Smoke, Lies,” “Good Lord, Lorrie,” and “Every Girl.”
  18. There was a guy in our area that showed an App gelding in 4H and then his younger brother used him. One of the best reining horses I've ever seen but great in pleasure and a stout horse for working cattle. But whenever he needed an adjustment, they would bring Chief to my dad for a couple of days, then Chief would be good for a while. My dad said he was the only good App he had ever seen, much less ridden. Then one day, I was home from college and stopped by the barn to find my dad riding an app mare that some lady needed help with. But instead of riding in the arena or the bronc pen by the road, he was working her behind the barn. I knew what was up immediately but I wanted to hear it from him. He said, "Riding this app mare is like fucking a fat chick. It might not be bad but you don't want anyone to see you doing it."
  19. Just read where Tom Stevens of The Long Ryders died in late January. In the mid-80s, I loved this band. https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/rock/9516833/tom-stevens-dead-long-ryders-bassist-dies/ At the time, Psychedelic Country Soul was one early label I saw stuck to them as well as Paisley Park Cow Punk.
