  1. deep breath my friend. this too shall pass. we are going through a lot of the same issues. one son is graduating and is off to Seattle. trying to find housing half way across the US has been interesting. the other is trying to find a house to lease next year after failing to secure the one he is currently leasing. daughter is frustrated because the girls she wants to room with want to rent furnished and she doesnt. neither are giving in at this point. my brother is going through some pretty bad addiction issues. my sister is out of work and living in a penthouse in LA with no plan for future income. meanwhile i am being asked (because its my role) to solve everyone's problems and trying to work on my cases at the same time. oh and did i tell you that we traded in my wife's suv for a new one over the weekend? and then she decided that she didnt want this new one anymore. so we drove out to bastrop to exchange vehicles only to find out that they already sold her old suv.... oh boy....
  2. #kindawhitepeopleproblems
  3. No Minnesota accents. Lol
  4. from my point of view, she made a few mistakes: 1. She never differentiated herself from Bernie - this was critical to her success. She should have positioned herself as the candidate that bridged the gap between the moderates and the progressive. Progressive Social Policies married to Capitalism. But instead she went with "I'm with Bernie" 2. Well that worked until she freaked everyone out with her M4A plan. People do not pick candidates based on their policies. The more specific you get, the more ammo you are giving to your rivals. Just pick good, general plans that are kind of vague and non-specific. People pick their candidates based on their person, ethics, morals, personality, effectiveness, and whether they believe in them.; 3. And then when it was time to start pointing out the differences between her and the Bern, she chose to attack Bloomberg over and over and over again until it started feeling way too personal. She didnt realize that she was helping Biden and hurting herself. She should have been balancing her criticisms of Bloomberg with showing how she is different that Bernie and Biden. I love her and thought she would make a great president but she made lot of tactical mistakes along the way.
  5. <= Pic she moved to Texas with her family in 7th grade so no accent.
  6. Same for us other than wife is from Minnesota instead of Asian. Everyone wants a revolution until they are in power and then revolutions dont look like such a great idea anymore. Your reasons are almost exactly our reasons for moving from Warren to Biden. It will be interesting to see who he picks for VP. Harris? Abrams? Klobuchar? I would love Warren but dont think it will happen.
  7. My progression: Beto -> Warren -> Biden Contributed to Biden this morning and have requested to volunteer. I am #RidinwithBiden
  8. you mean the social services that America really, really, really likes.
  9. Voted my girl Warren today! Felt good. Let's go Liz!
  10. Agreed! Capitalism when married with progressive democracy is the best recipe to motivate and inspire people to innovate and work. It's the secret recipe in America's success. We do not have that right now. Capitalism has to be held in check by a democracy that includes regulations and freedom and a court system, etc.. That's what Warren wants. Socialism/Democratic Socialism/Communism etc (not that these are all the same) do not have the same sort of mechanisms in place to inspire or incentivize innovation, invention or entrepreneurialism. My guess is we agree on more than we disagree on but just come at it from different starting points and maybe end at different points as well with lots of overlap in the middle.
  11. I don't agree with Bernie's approach, philosophy, background, personality, pretty much everything about him except a few of his policies that he shares with Warren. But Warren comes at those policies from a capitalistic perspective. If I gave Warren everything she wanted, we wind up in a totally different place than where we would be if Bernie could have everything he wants. Pete - no experience - life or political, no anything except a lot of snark and a really off-putting elitist, spoiled, bratty personality. This election is not about policies for me. Its about ethics, morals, experience, leadership. And I think Warren wins on all of those. And I think we would be fine with Biden, Bloomberg or Klobuchar as well. They are all good people with good experience. Of course, I would vote for either over Trump. But I would prefer not to if given the choice.
  12. Im hoping Warren can turn this around. She is my favorite by far. Followed by Biden, Bloomberg, and Klobuchar. Bernie and Pete aren't even on my board.
  13. Moores are good and in Drip. Frosty is recovering from a recent heart attack. Gonna differ with the above as to who the better Moore is at this point. Dr. Dean Chen, Dr. Scott Welch are both in Westlake Dr. Villarreal at DOC at Slaughter Ln If you want to discuss further, send me a PM.
  14. and that is a TOTALLY true and accurate statement.
  15. Finished the half in 2 hours flat. Not bad. It was fun. Full is next.
  16. Well, uh, yeah.
  17. i dont understand the Brocks. if i were them, i would have committed to Texas early and help Milroe build out the #1 class in the nation thereby ensuring program, as well as their own, success. but thats just me.
  18. Let me know if she wants to chat with my daughter about her experience at UT in CNS. My daughter is an Environmental Science major on the biology track. Did she apply to any of the honors programs? My daughter has found the Dean's Scholar community to be extremely welcoming and has a very small school feel to it.
  19. I had it 3-2, Reyes. I don't mind the decision as the champ should get the nod unless it was taken from him. But 4-1 is laughable. And if you are going to give credit for takedown, then give credit for an escape. Also Reyes wasn't moving backwards or avoiding the fight. He was moving side to side which is what you are supposed to do. Jones was not initiating anymore than Reyes. Good fight. We should definitely run that one back.
  20. West point
  21. goddammit... it was a joke. lol... i know when to use moot vs mute supposably.
  22. first of all, you missed the joke re mute/moot. but thanks for the correction guy. second, Texas is never a bad career move for anyone much less someone at the top of their field in coaching the football. this is a stupid argument. No one ever said man i sure wish i didnt go coach at Texas for that season or two, make a shit load of money, build recruiting ties in one of the largest recruiting hotbeds, and generally increase my stock as a position coach / coordinator. and if done right, you can help recruit other top coaches to come with you so you can assure success for the move. but again, dumb argument. and its MOOT because Herman is a dumbass who would rather be the smartest guy in the room than hire the best coaches.
  23. Im blown away people don't think like this. this is the way it should be. and any head coach worthy of being the HC at Texas should be able to walk into that room of boosters and talk them into giving him what he needs to hire the coaches needed to win multiple NCs. Herman is apparently not that guy. so its a mute point.
  24. not surprised. just disappointed and confused. i thought CDC would impose some guardrails to keep Herman from going full retard.
  25. I dont understand. Are you trying to say that Stanford is better than Texas? Palo Alto better than Austin? Don't do this.
