  1. because the point of the military is to be effective in deterring others and defending our nation. i want no more war as well but we can't pretend like that is something that is solely in our control. we should have a smaller, less costly military that is able to carry out the defense of our nation and allies.
  2. like i would admit to that... you dont think we should focus on reducing our military spend? our military and military budget are horrific examples of bloat and waste. If we could actually reduce both, reward units and divisions for efficiency and encourage a more streamlined effective approach, then we would actually improve our military while reducing our budget. instead we encourage waste and bloat through stupid budgetary policies of "use it or lose it" resulting in stockpiles of supplies we don't currently need.
  3. they dont. that was my point. we should focus on making our military more efficient and effective.
  4. i disagree. i think the difference is huge and it what leads to political votes instead of what makes the most sense for our nation.
  5. i still dont understand why people think Hillary is "pro-war." i think her foreign policy would have been pretty conservative in nature and mirrored Obama's more or less.
  6. there is a difference between pushing for increases and voting to increase the military budget.
  7. i dont see a whole lot of liberals pushing for increases to the military budget. i think the rest is about diplomacy not war and disagree they are pushing towards war with diplomatic actions. i think its just the opposite that they are suggesting and pushing policies and proposals that move away from war in favor of diplomatic alternatives that will address the issues. thats the responsible course whether they are conservative or liberal.
  8. is there a "pro-war liberal position?" if it exists, i havent seen it. i dont think anyone criticizing trump's indecisiveness are saying they wish he would have let it happen. i think they are saying that he should have been asking that question BEFORE the operation began not during. if you pull out your weapon, you better use it. and that doesnt mean anyone other than bolton wanted him to use it. he shouldnt have ever pulled it out to begin with if he wasnt 100% certain to follow through. the hesitation, indecisiveness will be perceived as weakness by our enemies. its that simple.
  9. i think Texas feels very good about it without taking it for granted. they are going to work hard to secure their commitments but would be shocked if they didnt commit to the good guys.
  10. WTF? there was nothing fallacious about my post. shouldn't you be trying to find another 2020 recruit to confuse with Tre Watson?
  11. oh yeah, you got me! i would have gotten away with it too, if it wasnt for these meddling kids!!! wait, did you call my user name bland? i can not allow this aggression to stand.
  12. im not sure how i could have been any clearer but i will attempt to expand a bit. i was talking to members of the staff about 2020 OL recruiting. i was asking them who they thought we would finish with. the response was wrong as they included George in there along with Lindberg. But they then added that while the 2020 class was nice, the 2021 class was better. more specifically, that TB was the best OT they have seen in the last 5 years. better than walker little. and they expect he will be the best OT on campus when he arrives. they thought he was a future first rounder, possibly top 5 type pick. they are blown away by his talent and believe we will get both Brock bros. hopefully that clarifies for you. on 2020, would love to finish with Lindberg and Karic on the OL and start bringing in Ransom, Crawford, Bijon, etc...
  13. the words weren't mine to begin with. if you would actually read and try to comprehend what i was saying, you would admit that you were fucking wrong to begin with and that this whole argument is stupid. i told you what members of the staff told me. i am not going to change their words to suit you. i dont think they put that much time into the statement. it wasnt some thesis or shit. it was just their off the cuff opinion on TB's talent. holy fuck dude. let me go back and ask for clarification if they included the development of the other OTs in their calculus so I can try to ease Sydney fucking Carton on surly. or not.
  14. i agree. and again, if correct, it means all kinds of good things for texas as we will have multiple first round OTs on our roster.
  15. lol... whatever man. it actually is the same thing. i am not expressing my opinion or belief about TB. i was posting what i had heard from the staff. they think the best OT the state has seen in years will be better than a bunch of OTs that were highly ranked but not nearly as talented. omg that is such a controversial statement. fuck off.
  16. It actually isn't. I was relaying what I was told by members of the staff as to their expectations for TB. It doesnt mean that others won't progress and be able to hold him off wrt playing time. It means that they think he will be the best OT prospect we have landed in a long time and as such, will be the best OT when he joins the team. Whether that actually happens or turns out to be true is another thing entirely. But it doesnt change their projection or expectation for TB. Its just a prediction made by members of the staff. I dont think many think we have many, if any, sure-fire first rounders on our roster at present at OT. Jones, Johnson, Shepherd, Moore, etc may all get there over the next two years, but they arent there now. But yeah there is no conflict in relaying the staff's projection for TB with my hope that y'all are right and not disagreeing that others may develop enough over the next two or three years to hold him off, unless you are just trying to be obtuse. Sorry for the thread derail.
  17. i dont disagree with anything you or others have said. Just passing along what the expectations are. The good news is if TB is kept off the field, the player(s) in front of him will be future first rounders. We havent been there in a long time.
  18. just telling you what i was told. the staff thinks he is the best OT they have seen in the last 5 classes and was the best in Texas as a soph regardless of classification. kid is a future first rounder.
  19. Brockermeyer will be the best OT on campus the minute he steps foot on the 40 acres. But that will be a good problem to have...
  20. Saw Anderson .Paak and Thundercat last week in Dallas! AP was incredible. Thundercat was chill as always.
  21. it might look like that in pics but tommy is noticeably taller and thicker in person.
  22. there is a really good wr in that class for Westlake that should get attention as well.
  23. He is a good one. I have coached against him for years in 7s. He will be the next great Westlake QB.
  24. Is it crazy to think he would be a better running back than Evans? I know he is bigger. Do they have comparable times?
