  1. our oldest son leaves for a semester in Paris next week. we are planning a trip for 8 days in Paris in March for his birthday and our anniversary. I will review this thread for ideas but suggestions would be appreciated! And thank you PW for not only your work in Trading Places but also the trip diary. outstanding!
  2. Bru is not coming to Texas.
  3. yeah i do. i think he will start at RT next year and then LT the following. He has a good frame and is expected to get bigger. his brother is 6'8 330 lbs and was at IMG for a while but went back to El Paso this past season. i dont think Judge will be that big. he is 6'2+ 215 ish now but i wouldnt be surprised if he wound up 6'5 260 ish. Good feet and feel for the position. he did well for a soph on varsity this past season. that was a tough assignment but he worked hard and by season's end was doing a really nice job. needs to get a lot stronger. i think his college prospects will be governed by his size. if he gets 6'5 250ish then i think he is looking at P5/Texas type offers.
  4. SMU, Penn, Princeton, Colorado School of Mines, and a few others I can't remember. He was pretty set on going to UT one way or the other.
  5. he was Lake Travis's LT the past two seasons. He is 6'3 ish and 270+. he projects to guard or center. good feet. nice technique. smart, hard worker. good strength but really needs to get a lot stronger moving forward. he is a big tough kid. he should be able to get to 300 pretty easily. his dad is a big dude too. i expected him to go to Rice or SMU or Houston and contribute after a few seasons in the SC program. i have coached him in baseball and football since he was in 1st grade. great kid. loves the Longhorns. accepted the PWO over smaller school scholarship offers. i expect him to offer depth at center or guard. he is also a long snapper.
  6. NS was really good. LT was down on OL and DL this year. Next year should be better. I have seen a lot of really good running backs play against LT (Jonathan Gray, Malcom Brown, Kyle Porter, Deondrick Glass, Perine, the back from Allen, Judson's back, etc) and none are close to Evans. Kid is the best HS running back i have seen in a long time.
  7. is this where i say that i couldnt say my real thoughts in this thread? because everyone would realize i have fallen for Mahomes? how the heck did you turn me into Kelly McGillis? i want the truth! no, wait. wrong movie. i am excited for KC and Mahomes. i love Texas QBs experiencing success in the pros. and i love the spread offense following along with them.
  8. but his recklessness got Goose kilt. steady iceman never made any mistakes, and never killed his RIO. do you really want to see Travis Kelce die because of Mahomes' recklessness?
  9. it was a great play. i think Favre is another fair comparison. im not a fan of either.
  10. whoa. jeff fisher? too far man, too far.
  11. did you even read what i wrote? QBs use their eyes to influence defenders. but once the defender has been held by the QB's eyes, he should then turn to his target and make his throw, not make a no-look pass. the risk-reward with this kind of play isnt even up for debate. mahomes pulled it off. and it was an exciting play. but it is not what QBs are taught nor what they should do.
  12. i will give it a look.
  13. i havent seen EJ Smith this year but saw him against LT last year. he is a nice player but really surprised he is in the top 10 in the state. top 50, sure. top 10, no.
  14. then you make another throw or throw it away.
  15. you move or hold the safety with looking before the throw. there is no reason to not look while throwing. its stupid and will lead to interceptions more often than not. changing arm angles and platforms and "no look" throws sound cool and all but there is a reason the best of all time rarely do any of that. the consistency of their motions leads to consistently accurate throws. putting the ball where it needs to be over and over and over again is what leads to championships not "no-look" throws. it was an exciting play and really cool to watch tho...
  16. why in the world do you need to do a "no-look" pass in the NFL? it serves no purpose. looking a defender off your intended target is one thing but not looking at who you are throwing to is just stupid and will result in INTs more often than not. there is no doubt that mahomes is exciting but my guess is his career ends up more like Matthew Stafford than an all-time great. He is just too reckless with the ball.
  17. you're mean...
  18. i would like to see the two party system go back to being a contest of ideals and policy positions rather than liberal vs conservative constructs.
  19. yeah i dont know. thats what i am going to ask. i know we valued Williams over Richardson as a S prospect. but have heard that Richardson might be more of a LB in college.
  20. If Elko leaves, that might put S Brian Williams back in play. He loved UT and the DB coaches but he had an even stronger relationship with Elko going back to ND. I will check around to see what I can find out.
  21. i agree with that assessment. Brown behind a decent line would have been effective in college. I watched Porter and Glass against LT in the playoffs. Glass is a much better back than Porter but I still have the same concerns voiced above. He was amazing as a freshman, really great as a soph, injured as a junior and effective as a senior. the best thing for him would be to redshirt and let his body heal. if he could regain his freshman/sophomore form, he could be electric. but i have my doubts.
  22. got it. thx.
  23. Is Cain really that much different than Glass? Im not really excited about either.
  24. but see she is just lying to get a better deal! and flipping should be illegal! illegal i say!!!! WITCH HUNT!
