  1. are you comparing EV in '18 with final vote in '16?
  2. I understand but what is important to look at is how far has the Rep EV advantage fallen? Last I saw it was down approximately 15%. If Dems have erased 15% (+23% to +8%) of the Reps advantage in EV AND are able to keep their advantage on election day, then the numbers look really good for Beto. We just don't know if that will happen at this point.
  3. I understand what you are saying and I appreciate your efforts. I was just pointing out that if everything holds as it did last election, then Beto loses. Things have to change for Beto to win. That could be more Dems voting than Reps or Independents going heavily for Beto or new voters going for Beto or moderates going for Beto or a percentage of Reps going for Beto. Some or all of those things have to happen for Beto to win. Personally, I think all of them will go in Beto's favor to varying degrees and he will pull out a win +3 points. I have never seen enthusiasm for a candidate like Beto in Texas. I live in Bee Cave and thought I was the only Democrat until now.
  4. well, of course, if everyone votes in the exact same percentages as Trump/Hillary, Cruz will win by the same percentage that Trump did.
  5. we haven't had a landline for 15 years.
  6. Bottom line, we are going to get the country we deserve this election. There is no unknown. There is no both sides suck. There is either a rejection of Trump or an acceptance of what he stands for. We either make the correction to the path we are currently on or we speed it up considerably. No claims of ignorance this time. No claims of Gary Johnson. I believe we will do the right thing and correct this but I have to admit I am concerned. If you are a conservative, why would you vote for Trump? You already have your tax cut, your Supreme Court Justices, and massive deregulation. If you vote against Trump, Congress will be able to put him in check and stop the madness and any further damage to our country but will be unable to roll back any of the above conservative achievements.
  7. Aaron Burr, Sir.
  8. I dont understand. Why cant Trumpkins just admit he is wrong. That all of his stupid hate mongering is wrong. Bush didn't do it. Bush Sr. didnt either. Neither did Reagan. Heck, I dont think Nixon did it either. And so on for the history of the Republic. So why can't Trumplicans just say "this is wrong. he needs to stop. he is partially to blame and it is unacceptable, reckless, and irresponsible for a US President to do this." no whataboutisms. no russian chaos tactics. no both sides. no but anything. just accept that your guy is wrong, call him out on it, require and demand that he stop doing it, and we as a nation can all move forward. its really that simple. why cant y'all just do that for the sake of Country?
  9. you meant :White, straight, Christian, American male in the top 1% income bracket.
  10. yeah something is not right with the way you're looking at it. there is no way Beto is underperforming against any previous metric.
  11. back to 2018 elections and trends: A big bluewave is on the way and looking bigger and bigger each day!
  12. I think what most pro-lifers miss is that most pro-choice people are not pro-abortion. Instead they are in favor of all the things I outlined in my two previous posts.
  13. But being pro-choice does not have to be about being pro-killing babies, right? It can be about giving women the respect and decency and same rights men have, right? It can be about working toward preventing abortions and then taking care of babies that aren't aborted. It can be about taking care of the poor, the meek, the disenfranchised, right? It can be about how Jesus lived his life and helping those who need it the most when they need it the most, right?
  14. Any Christian who doesn't run as a Democrat does not understand Jesus's teachings. Being pro-choice is not anti-Bible, God or Jesus. There are plenty of ways to work for alternatives to abortions, to teach sex education, to provide birth control, to improve the adoption process, and to take care of impoverished children after they are born. All of these policies and literally every single other Democratic position is in line with Jesus's teachings and Christian values.
  15. I agree. Straus is a good Republican who kept the right wing loons in check for a long time. The Republicans will only get worse now that he is not seeking re-election and will no longer be speaker. Villalba is a good one as well. I disagreed with his school marshal program but outside of that, he was a Reagan conservative. I still have no clue how he lost to that crazy Empower Texans candidate. I hope she loses the election.
  16. its the daily hour of hate!
  17. it looks like Rs party ID advantage in early voting is down 11% points from 2014.
  18. well given that all of the urban centers went heavily for Hillary in '16, it can only be a good thing for Beto that the urban population centers are turning out in record numbers. There just aren't that many R's in those areas any more. If the urban population centers continue to turn out and break records then all Beto has to do is convince enough of the rural voters to vote his way that drops the Rs a few points for victory.
  19. Rover is inside in our defense as well. It's the weakside LB or the Will in traditional D nomenclature.
  20. i thought that too in Bee Cave but as we were walking out an older well-dressed couple made their way to their car in front of us. I told my wife that it was unfortunate that the older couple's vote probably canceled ours out. I started nodding my head as the older couple approached an S series Mercedes sedan. As the older gentleman opened his door, i saw he had a BETO sticker. and then I saw BETO stickers all across his bumper and on his passenger door. He caught me looking, smiled, and gave me a thumbs up.
  21. but that is NOT socialism. i dont understand why other people don't understand that.
  22. mainly olds in texas. 65+
  23. that report is based on absentee ballots, not early in-person voting.
