  1. these are the types of moments that turn elections. beto is going to win.
  2. promising pardons to others to protect yourself is obstruction of justice and ultimately led to Nixon's resignation.
  3. this beto/anthem protest video has gone full viral at this point.
  4. When did the NATIONAL ANTHEM become about honoring military veterans? It is the NATIONAL ANTHEM, not the military anthem or the veteran anthem. It is about our NATION, not military. It is about each and everyone of us, not just the military. It is about being a patriot, not a soldier. It is about all of the freedoms and rights we have in this nation and celebrating our way of life, not about the service of the military. The National Anthem is a celebration of America, including but not limited to the military. When a player kneels, he isnt disrespecting the military, as pointed out above the Anthem has nothing to do with the military specifically, instead he is silently and peacefully protesting that the rights and freedoms enjoyed in our great Nation by some are not enjoyed by all and that needs to change. There is zero disrespect in this form of protest.
  5. I think it was to inoculate it against Trump's attacks on Mueller and to make sure that probably the most important key to the investigation, the lynch pin, would not stop even if Trump fired Mueller. What is he going to do run around firing every Asst US Atty that is investigating him?
  6. This is like when Rocky hit Drago and he bled. Mueller hit Trump today and he bled. Trump is just a man. And like Drago, he is going down hard.
  7. We have a Democratic Senator from Alabama. We are about to have one from the great State of Texas. Fuck all this noise. They may not convict and remove but they will persuade him to resign or they will make his life hell. If he doesnt resign and allow a Republican President to step in for him, he will not be pardoned when the Democrats win the WH in 2020. If he wants to fight upstream against a Democratically controlled House and a divided Senate that despises him until he loses in 2020 and is prosecuted after he leaves office then so be it. The only way he avoids prison is to resign. Trump's Presidency effectively ended today.
  8. while unfortunate, its a hell of a lot better than the Trump train barreling down the train tracks.
  9. And he did these acts before becoming President when he was still candidate Trump. If he doesnt resign, do they indict and wait for him to be removed or lose to prosecute?
  10. I didnt say they would. I said they should. And frankly, from a strategy standpoint, how do you go into the midterms with a President who is an uni-indicted co-conspirator to commit felony federal election campaign violations? He can't campaign for anyone now. He is damaged goods. The rule of law is coming for Mr. Trump. Cohen didn't need to "cooperate" outside of agreeing to name the President of the United States as a co-conspirator in a federal conspiracy to defraud the American voters, and unfairly and illegally influence the election. nah, i think that works just fine.
  11. Republicans should force him to resign asap.
  12. The President of the United States is officially an un-indicted co-conspirator to felony federal campaign finance violations.
  13. edit no longer an option so quoting myself... and the kicker is that this is redistribution of wealth from the middle and lower classes to the upper class and corporations. it is corporate and social welfare for those who need it least. it is a handout. it is maddening that they will blatantly do this for corporations and the wealthiest dressed up in the name of economic stimulus and trickle down but will criticize and rail against any attempts to redistribute to the middle and lower classes, the ones who actually need it, as entitlements, socialism and handouts to those dirty, stinking, lazy poor people who refuse to take personal responsibility. In other words, if it redistributes to the wealthiest, well that is just capitalism at its finest but if it goes to the people who actually need it, well that is socialism and communism and lack of personal responsibility. never mind that the definition and concept of socialism is completely lost and misunderstood by these people. unfortunately, the Republicans have convinced all of the rubes that any government program that gives money to people who need it is socialism and not part of a democratic - capitalistic society, and that could not be further from the truth. i am ready for candidates like Beto to restore responsibility in politics. i hope there are many more who follow after him.
  14. i thought it was one of the best films of 2018. i was surprised by how much i enjoyed it. it has been a long time since i enjoyed a spike lee film.
  15. Republicans have been the party of fiscal irresponsibility for the last 40 years. Democrats have been more fiscally responsible over that same period of time and its not even close. I really dont care if someone is a Democrat or Republican. I want their policies to be responsible. I want their policies to follow the same advice that they would give their children. I want their policies to follow the same advice that they would give to a poor person asking how to get ahead in life. I want their policies to follow the same advice that they would follow running their own business. This isnt hard. Republicans sold out our country a long time ago to large corporations and the wealthiest, and while doing so, have incited fear by relying on tired slogans invoking LBJ's ghost in the name of every Democrat. It's over. It's done. Every single time the Republicans get in control of the WH and Congress they go on a huge spending splurge while massively cutting revenue. It is fiscal insanity. It is a literal money grab every single time. They are not principled. They are not responsible. They are dangerous to our Nation. And they should be voted out until they become responsible and start following sound, reasonable economic sense. The best part of Beto winning will be that it will make both parties pay attention to Texas. I am tired of the parties pandering to the plains states and the midwest. I would love to see California and NY become important to both parties too. The fact that every vote for Beto will count will lead to a huge turnout. There are a lot of liberals, progressives and left-leaning moderates who do not vote because they know in national elections their vote won't matter and in local elections their vote has been gerrymandered into nothing. I think Beto will inspire every single one of those voters to vote. Beto is going to win.
  16. I wouldnt count Martin out. LT always starts slow as they find and fit all the pieces together. There are questions on the defensive line and in the secondary. And right now, the WR corp looks pretty meh outside of GW.
  17. I grew up a Reagan Republican as a kid. I voted for Clayton Williams, Bush Sr, Dole, Bush Jr for Gov, Bush Jr for President and then largely Democrats ever since based solely on the issue of fiscal responsibility. but I dont vote straight ticket. The Republican party as presently constituted is disgustingly stupid and offensive to anyone who is a moral, responsible, caring, family, patriotic oriented person. I don't get it at all. We benefited from Ryan/Trump's tax cuts but to what end? What did we give up to save a little in taxes? Our integrity? Our promise and responsibility to provide a better nation for our kids and grandkids? No thank you. We have 5 kids. We will be adding 2 more votes for the Dems this Fall. The other 3 will join when they are able to vote. We are active in Beto's campaign and actively encourage our kids to serve their community and get involved. They have embraced our activism and are taking it to the next level. Times are a changing...
  18. i dont think Gen X and Millenials will become socially conservative. But I do think most of us are fiscally RESPONSIBLE and for that, we are turning to the Democrats as they are the only party to show even an ounce of fiscal responsibility over the last 25 years.
  19. Fuck Ted Cruz. Beto is going to win.
  20. Maybe, but Im not sure how I could be an idiot for sharing what Wilson has said both privately and publicly.
  21. Given our offense's performance over the last few years, I wouldn't say Wilson's comments make him an idiot. I disagree with him but I understand where he is coming from.
  22. I dont think Mehringer or Beck is a problem for Wilson. It is my understanding it has more to do with his lack of belief in the offense as a whole and whether the offense will be good enough to showcase / develop his skills for an NFL career.
  23. i kinda like the show but really wish more would actually happen. and would it be that hard to actually have a character that i like or cheer for? camille is a depressed, alcoholic, cutter. her little sister is the devil. their mom is the anti-christ. the step-dad is a cuckold. the kc cop is eh. the sheriff is an idiot. the rest of the people in the town all voted for trump, i am 100% sure. i mean there is nothing compelling about the show. it is filmed in flashbacks, current, flashforwards, dreams, shaky cam and every other possible way to make it hard to follow. and yet, i keep watching. i think i will blame it on my wife... and the hope Amy Adams gets to actually look like Amy Adams.
