  1. Excellent point ! Forgot all about the CWS. Per schedule, his first action was 30 June.
  2. http://pointstreak.com/baseball/team_stats.html?teamid=3427&seasonid=33239 (stats not always current) Daly is playing SS/3B for Chatham at Cape Cod. Only played 7 of 28 games and hitting .200. Extreme competition, but may have benefited more in going to Santa Barbara or another team in the Calif Collegiate League for more PT at SS. tl,dr: Begin forming a 7 figure NIL deal for Faltine. 🙂 Edit: May have an injury. However, often times they send you home if you will miss signficant number of games.
  3. https://mutigers.com/news/2022/6/28/softball-cottrill-named-assistant-coach.aspx Julia Cottrill's Dad just took an assistant job at Mizzou. Was at OkSt for 7 years. Seems unusual to make a lateral move unless significant $$$ Or KennyG may be having team/coach chemistry issues.
  4. Is this a permanent move until such time as you receive another transfer ? If so.. Best to follow advice by phdhorn. With the current US mail system issues (delays, takes more time), best not to depend on the forwarding of mail. Check with the DMV in California but there likely is a requirement to change your vehicle registration and driver's license within a certain period. Perhaps @Gil Bang and @Sbbruin can advise.
  5. Apparently a 7 inning game, they went extras (see 1st link) No idea why, Olympic games are 9. 2nd link is USA Twitter to follow games if interested. https://www.usabaseball.com/news/topic/collegiate/cnt-falls-to-japan-in-extras-1-0-in-honkbalweek-opener https://twitter.com/usabaseballcnt
  6. Japan scored in bottom of 8th to defeat Team USA 1-0. Must have been a great game, too bad ESPN does not stream. Above stream is a paid subscription from the Netherlands.
  7. https://www.usabaseball.com/team-usa/collegiate-national-team/schedule Team USA Collegiate National Team begins play Saturday. Games are scheduled to be streamed. Early games may be archived for later viewing.
  8. https://archive.ph/UQJBl Not the OP, but also interested. Also, note below article. George Kent has written extensively on the issue of global hunger, therefore it is unlikely that he will write something positive about the issue, and hence it can be said that the article is satirical. https://www.opindia.com/2022/07/article-describing-benefits-of-world-hunger-published-by-the-un-goes-viral/
  9. HR #3, 2-3 today, 2 rbi's, SB, played 3B. Tigers are at Globe Life, 26-28 Aug (weekend).
  10. None that I have seen. Very important hire. Camps started this week, 9AM-1PM. Someone that has time may drop by to see if the new coaches are taking part and look for the volunteer asst. 11. What Fletch said. Coaches select players and coordinate with the league. Seems the ones selected will be important for the following year. It is a great experience. Especially the Cape Cod League. Showcase for scouts and with excellent coaching. Elder was highly complimentary of his pitching coach at Santa Barbara. Communities sponsor the teams with activities and most important, food. I checked last week and only could find the following players. Normally we have more but reduced due to attrition this year. Cape Cod - Daly, L. Johnson (Chatham) Sthele (Wareham) Santa Barbara - Harrison, Campbell Grossman also at Santa Barbara - did he portal ? Northwoods League (Midwest, Upper Midwest) - did not have time to check, too many teams If interested just google. However, rosters and stats are often not current.
  12. As the Director of Operations, Drew served as a liaison with the recruits insuring they were welcomed, logistics provided, met with their parents, etc and was well liked by current and former players. His departure completed the purge of former staff members seemingly a Pierce goal. Everyone was replaced including Vinny, the equipment manager. Don't know, all most likely at Pierce's behest. Departure did not really affect recruiting because to a large extent, Texas Baseball recruits itself. Drew is at Five Tool Baseball in Keller. Five Tool is a Nation wide organizatiion that sponsors tournaments and showcases for players to showcase their talent in hopes of playing at the next level. As much as he loved Texas Baseball, not sure he would have voluntarily taken that job. That said, he is from the Metroplex and there may have been family obligations.
  13. https://img.mlbstatic.com/opprops-images/image/upload/opprops/jgmwxl0ipbabwwpaccxn.pdf For those interested in Skenes, 3.2, O Runs, 4H, 0 BB, 4K's in Team USA intrasquad game. Keep in mind the level of competition - all stars.
  14. https://www.usabaseball.com/team-usa/collegiate-national-team/schedule If you need a college baseball "fix", above is schedule for USA Collegiate National Team. First 2 games were streamed on MLB.com, perhaps others will be. Skenes is listed as a P/IF but has not yet played.
  15. Cursory search indicates she played CF. Member of Texas St Athletic Hall of Honor. Left aggy Corpus after only 2 years (one a Covid year, resigned for other opportunities). Had them moving forward after bringing 7 players from Temple. "For Kristen, not many programs can get a head coach to come be your volunteer unless she's someone that is committed to being the best she can be," said Gasso. "She has the championship mindset; she's been at our camps and she perfectly fits our program. She is going to add a tremendous amount of knowledge to our staff and has an elite softball mind. We're really excited about her joining us." https://soonersports.com/staff-directory/kristen-zaleski/230
  16. Last minute portal entry. Recruited by Guillemette ? 2B, played SS in high school. Kendall is teasing there will be "big news" today in college baseball ? No specific team or subject identified. Edit: "Guess only" would be approval of 3rd paid coach.
  17. DC was given the opportunity to play 3B (likely at Pierce's request) and OF last Summer at Santa Barbara. Fielded about .850 at 3B in just a few games. He is back at Santa Barbara this Summer listed as OF. That said, he was a fairly highly rated shortstop (PG #12 State) in high school. Luke Harrison and Alec Grossman are also at Santa Barbara. Did Grossman portal ?
  18. 1 July is deadline to enter portal for Spring sports per: Student-athletes must enter the portal (or at least notify their school’s administration of their intention) by May 1 for all fall and winter sports, and July 1 for all spring sports, in order to be eligible to use the one-time transfer exception. https://swimswam.com/the-ncaa-transfer-portal-deadline-what-it-means-for-student-athletes/
  19. Best scenario is Pierce wants to introduce the new staff together.
  20. Not only camps, it is prime time for scouting the Summer Leagues.
  21. https://trojandailyblog.com/will-andrew-checketts-see-the-light-at-usc/ Said Family likes the SB area. My guess is USC does not want to fund assistant salaries and baseball specific training facilities. UCSB is planning on upgrades if they can secure funding.
  22. USC Insider Blog Troy Tulowitzki has turned down the USC baseball job, which places the job search back to square one. Tulowitzki is the second coach to turn down the job following UC Santa Barbara coach Andrew Checketts. D1Baseball reports Tulowitzki will not return to Texas as an assistant coach but will do consulting for a year before seeking a head-coaching job. That doesn’t sound like he loved what he heard from USC. As I’ve said, there are numerous obstacles at a private school like USC and it’s not clear USC is willing to devote resources to baseball like it has thrown at football the past few seasons. So where do things stand now? Grand Canyon coach Andy Stankiewicz is available but USC has not contacted him yet. Long Beach State coach Eric Valenzuela is a natural candidate. Time for USC to google some more names. https://insideusc.blog/2022/06/26/sunday-buzz-troy-tulowitzki-turns-down-usc/
  23. Good point about the portal. Many reasons to enter, opinion was referring only to those two. I certainly do not have "inside knowledge" and if I did would not post on a public board. My personal opinion is only based on observation, what some have said here and other places and the dismissal of Allen.
  24. I did not say MW could not develop pitching - I said this year's staff at the time was not developing. Most agreed at that time. Kudos to MW.
