  1. https://texas.leanplayer.com/ Radio link, 6PM start. Add to the challenge this is OKSt's final home series. Senior Day Sunday. They travel to Florida St next week and OU in Norman the following week.
  2. No TV for Friday game @ OKSt. Only B12 game not being televised. Poor job B12 office/ESPN 50% chance of tstorms for Sat night game, 24 mpw winds. Key series, argument could be made equal or more important than OU. Iowa St hosts OU. Need them to take 1 game like they did vs OKSt. Texas vs OKSt Fri 6PM, Sat 6:30PM (ESPN2), Sun 1PM (ESPN+) Starting pitching and defense are important parts of OSU's success. Left-hander Kelly Maxwell leads the Big 12 and ranks second nationally with 12.9 strikeouts per seven innings and ranks in the top 10 nationally in fewest hits allowed per game (fourth – 3.19) and shutouts (seventh – seven). Her 1.04 earned run average ranks 11th nationally and in her last start, she matched a school record with 18 strikeouts in a seven-inning game against Kansas. Right-hander Miranda Elish has won her last nine starts and has logged two no-hitters this season. Defensively, the Cowgirls lead the Big 12 and rank fourth nationally with a .982 fielding percentage.Notable Streaks and Trends• OSU has won 17 of its last 18 and 23 of its last 25.• OSU has won eight of its last 18 via run-rule.• OSU has outscored Big 12 opposition by a combined score of 89-19 through 12 games, including three shutouts and four run-rule victories in that stretch.• OSU has out-hit its opponents in 34 of its 41 games this season.• OSU has kept opponents to three runs or less in 22 of their last 23 and 35 of their last 41.• The Cowgirls have been ranked in the NFCA poll in each of their last 182 games, dating back to the start of the 2019 season.• Miranda Elish is batting .457, slugging .914 and leads all Cowgirls in home runs (five) and RBI (20) against Big 12 opponents. https://okstate.com/news/2022/4/19/softball-cowgirls-play-at-tulsa-host-texas-in-final-regular-season-home-series.aspx
  3. Silas particularly needs some rest. A few pitches he has failed to block, throws to second don't have his normal pop and accuracy. On defense he doesn't seem to have his normal energy. Rest won't happen today without a substantial lead because we need this game. Pierce's modus operandi has been to go all in to win midweek games which can limit rest/development. Good point above by @dcar00 about leadership. No one seems to have that Kody Clemens personality.
  4. Pierce said postgame the foul ball that hit Sean Allen "knocked him out" (Pierce's words). Taken to hospital for scan for possible facial bone fracture. Not sure. Blamed pitching, walks, location. Would like to see Sean Allen make all the mound visits. Seems to relax the pitcher. This pitching staff needs confidence, needs to know they are trusted.
  5. 😊 I know you are being facetious 😊 and knew, but others may not know. A native of Los Alamitos, Calif., Gajewski is married to Rachel, a Texas A&M softball alumnna, and has two children, Preston and Logan Gajewski. https://okstate.com/sports/softball/roster/coaches/kenny-gajewski/1762
  6. KBAGOLFER 10:02a If Kenny G comes in he should take a long hard look at keeping Craig. He'll have his pitching coach in his wife, and if he doesn't keep Craig, he should look at the Ag hitting coach who we just got swept by. Chris! https://texags.com/forums/8/topics/3284118 aggy wanting KennyG. Very possible, doubt if OKSt could match salary, his wife (Rachel Fox) aggy alumna from Houston area. Would be more concerned if we were not moving to SEC. B12 softball will be in decline.
  7. If you don't like your seats consider moving. Ushers rarely enforce seat checks especially for midweek games.
  8. Thanks for the info. I met his parents at a restaurant travelling to a game at aggy. I thought his dad was an educator thus the reason he may have not signed the 3rd round offer. Below is an excerpt from the full bio on TexasSports. Doesn't Hodo's dad have a baseball clinic in the Boerne area or did at one time ? HIGH SCHOOL· Earned four letters as a third baseman, catcher and pitcher for head coach Chuck Foster at Boerne (Texas) High School.· Holds Boerne High School career records for home runs (29), doubles (24), singles (105), runs (139) and RBI (133).· Tabbed a 2006 first-team All-American by the National High School Baseball Coaches Association. Batted .500 with 13 home runs and 55 RBI earning first-team all-state as a catcher, co-MVP of Greater San Antonio as sophomore and 4A State Player of the Year. https://texassports.com/sports/baseball/roster/russell-moldenhauer/2856
  9. Respect your posts, don't want to debate, but checked back Need to defend Moldenhauer. 🙂 Carter was a transfer from McLennan who came in Augie's first year (1997) and left. Baylor was a strong program and we were rebuilding. Perhaps he did not want to be part of the rebuild or other reasons. iirc, others left after Augie's first year. Moldenhauer was a highly rated catcher, outstanding hitter in high school. Competed with Preston Clark and Cameron Rupp. Primarily a DH and OF at Texas which resulted in lower draft position. Always a place in my heart for key hits against aggy. But certainly agree with your initial post. Alot of intangibles in recruiting.
  10. https://sunbeltsports.org/standings.aspx?path=baseball Texas St holding on to 1st place. Hope the Sun Belt Tournament is on ESPN+. So much at stake for deserving teams.
  11. https://www.prospectslive.com/prospects-live/2022-mlb-draft-top-400-prospects Not sure of the accuracy, but above top 400 prospect list was free. Someone may want to check to see if I missed someone. Can't see Stevens rated above Hansen ? Jalin Flores, #117 Texas commit, infielder, SA Brandeis Ivan - #128 Silas - #138 Hodo - #180 Faltine - #232 Daly - #234 Nixon - #235 Stevens - #279 Hansen - #288
  12. Cool hand Lady ! Also, great pitching coaching job by MW this whole series.
  13. KSt going with their regular 3rd starter, McCullough, who closed the Thursday game with 14 pitches and threw 92 pitches Sunday vs Tech. It's not only the game pitches, it is getting loose and warming up pitches. #BoldStrategyCotton gif
  14. 2018 - Starters (Kingham, Henley, Shugart) BP (Parker Joe, Stevens, Elder, Bocchi, Sawyer) Kamron Fields (1.82) had a good year along with Jake McKenzie. Not sure they were no names, regardless they had good years. Phil Haig's exit as a volunteer asst was necessitated by Huston saving Pierce by introducing him to Tulo. Would Haig have been kept otherwise, who knows ? Like Pierce, Sean Allen's forte is recruiting - one of the best in college baseball. His coaching career has mainly been with hitters and infield, the exception when he first started his career as pitching coach/asst pitching coach at FIU for 3 years. His playing career was an infielder at UH. Will the combination of Pierce/Allen as pitching coaches provide long term success ? Led the B12 last year with era of 2.93 (conf only). As of today (5.19) which is 4th in conference in what is playing out as year of the hitter conference wide. The main role of a pitching coach, maybe equal or above mechanics, is to develop confidence. Sometimes you have to show trust in dificult situations.
  15. Great game by Dolcini and great coaching by MW to teach her how to attack the OU hitters. 3 mistakes. Disappointed that Singleton did not have hitters shorten their swings especially with two strikes and just try to make contact. Iakopo in the 6th was a terrible AB. Swung at 2 questionable inside pitches and then chased. Credit Rocha with knowing Iakopo can't lay off the inside pitch. Doing a fake bunt twice is ridiculous. Bahl can be beat by the more experienced teams with good coaching. She is too emotional. Very proud of the way the team played except for the errors.
  16. Perhaps @someguy will further opine.
  17. That he did ! 5.2/6H/3ER/0 BB/4K's Great in game interview with his parents. University of Texas Baseball often mentioned by announcers and his parents.

  19. http://rf.freestreams-live1.com/washington-nationals-live-stream/ Multitask and watch Elder makes his first MLB start. 6:20PM first pitch if link works.
  20. Conference only stats at the conference halfway mark. Slipped to #5 in Fielding but no worries, everyone is fielding well except OU and KSt. Note the ERA's, hitter's league. https://big12sports.com/stats.aspx?path=baseball&year=2022&conf=true (click on image for larger print)
  21. If they can win the CC (38 RPI), Ga Southern (25 RPI), and Texas St (37 RPI) series would improve their RPI of 58. But safest thing is to win the conference tournament. In other news, Florida beat Ark today 9-7 to end the Hogs' 13 straight conference series winning streak. Florida may be waking up, currently 5-7 in conference.
  22. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10701089/Bank-America-analyst-warns-clients-recession-shock-coming-days.html Above article released this PM, lengthy with several charts. Presented for comments. Note Dalio's comments. Economics is not my field or forte. Excerpts: A Bank of America analyst warned that the U.S. economy is deteriorating fast and could push the country into a recession just three days after Deutsche Bank predicted the fall to come in 2023 as the Federal Reserve tightens interest rates to tame surging inflation. BofA chief investment strategist Michael Hartnett wrote in a note to clients: ''Inflation shock' worsening, 'rates shock' just beginning, 'recession shock' coming.' Dalio argued that the Fed now faces a bind in which rate hikes will either be too low to reduce inflation, or too high for the economy to withstand. 'So what you have is an enough tightening by the Federal Reserve to deal with inflation adequately, and that is too much tightening for the markets and the economy,' he said. 'The Fed is going to be in a very difficult place a year from now as inflation still remains high and it starts to pinch on both the markets and the economy,' Dalio explained.
  23. Cornelio and Walker are regular starters for TCU. Perez, a solid relief pitcher, is making his first collegiate career start. Ricky Jacquez type, small in stature, but throws the heat. Doubt if they expect him to go very far. @Helobious area from Laredo Alexander, probably grew up wanting to be a Longhorn. Reading the TCU boards, they have hitting issues, especially from the DH.
  24. Excellent seats if available.
