https://soonersports.com/sports/softball/stats/2022/baylor/boxscore/11800 Seeing this thead, reviewed OU and OKSt schedules. Baylor had a 1-0 lead yesterday vs OU thru 6.2 and Jennings hit a 3 run walkoff HR. Heartbreak... Baylor's pitcher was Omre, Fresno St transfer. OU has run ruled 25 of 29 opponents. Saw a few innings of their game vs Kentucky on SECN. Jordy Bahl, their ace pitcher, is a machine. Will be interesting to see MW's hitting and pitching strategy.

AAS story. (excerpt) Abandoned rental cars snaked down the road outside Austin-Bergstrom International Airport on Monday morning and passengers waited in a security line that reached outside the terminal and onto the sidewalk. Some travelers waited in security lines for hours, missed flights or even had to make alternate travel arrangements over the weekend as the airport was unable to handle unusually high passenger traffic generated in part by several high-profile sporting events. Airport officials on Monday even took the step of issuing a fuel shortage alert due to a lack of available fuel supply — a measure an airport spokesperson said is becoming more common as the airport becomes busier with more flights scheduled. A fuel shortage alert calls for flights to arrive with more fuel than normal in case there is no fuel available for them at ABIA. “These volumes reflect thousands of Austin visitors traveling home after attending events", includeing the Texas Relays, Dell Technologies Match Play Championships and a NASCAR race at the Circuit of the Americas, the statement read https://www.statesman.com/story/news/2022/03/28/austin-airports-weekend-woes-long-lines-missed-flights/7194370001/

SCar took 2/3 from Vanderbilt this past weekend. Thus far, alot of inconsistency with the exception of Tenn. TCU (18-5, 5-1) may be the surprise team so far though a relatively weak schedule. (KSt, Baylor conf wins). As a lurker, thanks to all for great analysis this season ! Proud of Vic and the Lady Longhorns ! “They’re really good, no question about it. You let them do what they want to do, they’ll hang 70, 80 points on you,” Texas coach Vic Schaefer said. “I think you’ve got to give our kids credit because they didn’t let them do what they wanted to do. They really played their guts out today, and they played the way we wanted to play. And we just couldn’t score enough points.” https://cw39.com/sports/ap-sports/defending-champion-stanford-tops-texas-59-50-in-elite-8/

Championships, they are a greedy bunch. Tells you all you need to know when Bally Sports Ok TV chooses to telecast the softball game last night vs baseball. OU's baseball facilities (esp training) are behind which likely affects recruiting and will be exacerbated with the move to the SEC.

Tadlock's postgame comments. Moreland did not ask Pierce to comment postgame on radio, normal positive rah rah. "Once we got to two outs, we've got communication that if we got in a position we need to do it, we're going to do it," Tech coach Tim Tadlock said. "Kurt made it happen. No doubt about it. Kurt's initial lead allowed him to do it. The baseball player Kurt is allowed him to do it." Asked if the Red Raiders believed from advance scouting they could steal home on Nixon or if they became aware of it during the game, Tadlock said, "I would tell you that I thought we could steal home on their lefthander (starter Pete Hansen). He goes out of the windup a lot. "(Against) Nixon, I really thought we could steal second and third more so than home, but if you can steal second and third easily, you can probably steal home, too. So I guess it all just kind of added up." https://www.lubbockonline.com/story/sports/college/baseball/2022/03/26/college-baseball-texas-tech-beats-ut-wilson-steals-home-10th-inning/7163902001/

https://texassports.com/sports/softball/stats/2022/kansas/boxscore/14768 Complete boxscore. Only 2 ER's of 7, scored 6 in 3rd. Dolcini great 3.1 relief of Czech. Only 6 hits, 3 by A. Washington, including HR. Kansas had 9 hits. 0 Texas errors. Incomplete showing vs a 10-16 Kansas team. Try to do better today at 2PM.

PROBABLE PITCHING MATCHUPS FRIDAY–Texas LHP Pete Hansen (4-0, 2.57) vs. Texas Tech RHP Andrew Morris (2-0, 4.84) SATURDAY–Texas RHP Tristan Stevens (4-1, 1.17) vs. Texas Tech RHP Brandon Birdsell (3-1, 1.80) SUNDAY–Texas LHP Lucas Gordon (1-1, 1.61) vs. Texas Tech LHP Mason Molina (1-2, 2.70) Just a note, Morris is a new transfer from Colorado Mesa Univ. Tech's pitchers have thrown only 22, 25, and 20 innings respectively in 4/5 starts. As a comparison Hansen has thrown 28, Stevens 30 in 5 starts each. Meaning Tech relies on their bullpen, only expecting so much from their starters. At least thus far. https://texastech.com/sports/baseball/stats/2022

Nice research ! White was a big loss. Would be so nice for her to be on staff. Refresh my memory, any idea why she left, closer to home ? In her limited appearances she did not seem to be comfortable. Also, any idea on why Simpson hasn't pitched since 16 Mar vs La ? Pulled after 1.1, did well, not so well in previous start against Minn. Hulon is also missing and MW even brought Day back into the mix. Need a reliable 3rd pitcher. (can't recall name, but there was a poster who seems to have contacts on the team, would appreciate info that can be shared)

Coaches must have missed the LSU sweep as LSU #22. I suppose stigma of 6 game losing streak and bad losses to FGCU and Notre Dame (not top 25).

Forgot about the 4PM early start. Also, @Texas St, Wed, 6PM. Lamar is 5-19 (ouch !)

fwiw, read that we "may" never again see dealer inventory as in the past which can eliminate price reduction. Dealers like the minimal inventory/order your vehicle concept to save costs. Anyone have friends in the business ? Wonder if this is affecting reduction in salesmen ?

Appreciate the regular updates.

Tell us about Georgia. Saw a few innings of their game last night vs Miss St. 15-3 with a soft schedule, but their ace RHP Jonathan Cannon is for real. In other news, aggy scored 2 in top of 9th to beat LSU 6-4 @Alex Box. Also saw a few innings, aggy played well but LSU seems to be having 1st year coach syndrome.

LSU Series will be tape delayed. My Friday TV guide shows reruns on LHN. Suppose they don't wont to detract from Texas WBB at 7PM, ESPN2 or maybe a not listed WBB pregame show. Baseball Sat. Article has full preview of series. Texas' defense has settled in since a tough night against UCF, posting a .975 fielding percentage while making just 11 total errors over the last 18 games (11 no-error efforts). (Overall fielding .958) Friday, March 18 6 p.m. #20/18 LSU vs. TEXAS – LHN (tape delayed until 9:30 p.m. CT) Saturday, March 19 2 p.m. #20/18 LSU vs. TEXAS – LHN (tape delayed until 5:30 p.m. CT) 4:30 p.m. #20/18 LSU vs. TEXAS – LHN (tape delayed until 7:30 p.m. CT) https://texassports.com/news/2022/3/17/softball-preview-vs-no-20-18-lsu.aspx

After reading your posts, I read his bio on the website. You are certainly correct when you said he has paid his dues. He definitely loves the game. Glad he is having success, very well deserved.

Breathe easy, my friend ! Texas also confirmed that this is a one-year deal. Oklahoma will come to Austin in 2023. https://www.statesman.com/story/sports/2022/03/14/texas-longhorns-ut-baseball-moves-games-against-oklahoma-sooners-globe-life-field-red-river-rivalry/7038276001/

And could Rangers Marketing want to pique the fans interest due to the delayed MLB season - and the B12 obliged ? The Yankees were scheduled to play the Rangers at Globe Life that weekend. The BYU/OKSt series was also moved there due to weather in Provo (allegedly). You are right about the expense. Single Day Tickets and Weekend Passes for the weekend series are on sale now at texasrangers.com/collegebaseball. Tickets are $30 for general admission for one game, or a weekend pass can be purchased for $80. Parking is available the day of the game for $25. https://texassports.com/news/2022/3/14/no-2-texas-baseball-series-versus-oklahoma-to-be-played-at-globe-life-field.aspx

Around the Nation: Southern California, the blueblood baseball program that hasn't been much of a factor nationally for two decades, is showing signs of re-emerging. The Trojans are coming off their first series win at UCLA since 2016 and are out to an 11-3 start, their best since the 2015 team opened with 12 straight wins. “We probably haven’t earned the respect or had the respect we’re trying to earn, so when you come in and play a team that just came off a big series last week... We feel like we’re trying to earn respect and when we do stuff like that, we feel we’re getting it," third-year coach Jason Gill said. UCLA entered the Pac-12 opening series ranked as high as No. 15 and had beaten then-No. 1 Texas a week earlier at an event in Houston. The Trojans won 7-4 Friday and bounced back from a 2-1 loss Saturday to win 6-3 on Sunday. They made their first appearance of the season in the national rankings at No. 25 by Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball newspaper. Rhylan Thomas and Tyresse Turner each had five hits in the series and Garret Guillemette had four hits, including a home run to stake the Trojans to an early 5-0 lead Sunday. USC has held up despite being without No. 1 starting pitcher Isaac Esqueda for two weeks because of injury. Charlie Hurley allowed two runs over seven innings on Sunday, and relievers Carson Lambert and Matt Keating combined to allow three runs over seven innings in the series. “Those are our go-to guys," Gill said, “and they know it and I think they enjoy the fact they’re going to get the ball.” USC, which has won an NCAA-best 12 national championships but none since 1998, has struggled to regain its traction the past two decades. The Trojans haven't been back to the College World Series since 2001 or won a conference title since 2002. Not counting the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, they haven't had a winning record since 2015, which also was the last time they've appeared in the NCAA Tournament. They were picked eighth in the Pac-12 preseason poll and get no breather before a weekend home series against California. On Tuesday, they host Connecticut (11-2), which is coming off a series win at Pepperdine. IN THE POLLS The rankings are jumbled with Texas, which had been the consensus No. 1 team, losing four of its past six games, including two of three at South Carolina. Mississippi (13-2) is No. 1 by D1Baseball.com, Notre Dame (11-1) by Baseball America and Vanderbilt (13-2) by Collegiate Baseball newspaper. The Nos. 2 and 3 teams are Texas (13-4) and Arkansas (11-3) by D1Baseball, Ole Miss and Oregon State (11-2) by Baseball America and Tennessee (15-1) and Oregon State by Collegiate Baseball. SWINGING SUSAC Daniel Susac became the first Arizona player in 24 years to hit two home runs in an inning, going deep twice in a nine-run first in the Wildcats' 13-5, series-clinching win over California. Susac, an All-American last season, is batting .416 with three homers, 11 doubles and 23 RBIs in 16 games. HALL BALL Seton Hall pulled one of the surprises of the weekend with its 6-4 win at Florida on Sunday, the Pirates' first victory after 12 losses to start the season. The Pirates hadn't beaten a Power Five team since a 10-2 win over Illinois on Feb. 15, 2020. THAT TOOK A WHILE Charlotte played its longest game in terms of time elapsed in its 9-7, 12-inning loss to Appalachian State on Sunday. The game lasted 5 hours, 41 minutes. The 49ers thought they had it won in the ninth on a play at the plate, but the umpire called obstruction on catcher Kaden Hopson and the tying run counted. Andrew Greckel drove in the go-ahead run for App State in the 12th. NO MERCY MERCER Mercer outscored Saint Peter's 54-4 in a three-game sweep and is off to the best start in program history at 15-1. The Bears from the Southern Conference own wins over Florida State and Georgia Tech and will face a big challenge this week when they travel to South Florida, which made it to super regionals last season. ___ More college baseball coverage: https://apnews.com/hub/college-world-series https://www.sfgate.com/sports/article/Trojans-try-to-recapture-glory-make-strides-17001443.php
