  1. Professional AB by Lopes and swinging at shit by Chas.
  2. Ohtani was never going to stop at first on hit to center gap.
  3. Mariners get Yimi Garcia. Things are starting to heat up
  4. Eflin to the Orioles. Won’t be a Rays package coming this way I don’t think.
  5. Hope Pedro goes 4-4 with 2 bombs. Melton doubled the opposite way in first AAA at bat.
  6. 2 years, 80 games 2.79 ERA 0.972 Whip 10SO/9 for a team desperate for arms he’s at least a cheap arm that may help. He may suck coming back but we are in the bargain hunting mode. If we are judging based off a HR to Pena we can go ahead and cut Pressley, Abreu and Hader too.
  7. Penn Murfee has my curiosity and attention. Could be an interesting addition.
  8. I think it depends on the AAV and what he’s offered. I think there is beginning to be some blowback for teams with these long contracts and may not be as many willing to go there. But that’s a 300 million dollar question.
  9. I don’t know that we do or don’t. None of us do. But I’d go all in this winter to try. If not then trade him too. But we have to stop letting everyone leave for nothing. Better to trade them a year too soon than too late.
  10. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/07/tigers-trade-rumors-mark-canha.html Canha kills left handed pitching. Could platoon at first and/or kick Chas to the freaking curb in an OF platoon. Won’t cost a lot. Hope Dana is kicking the tires. Otherwise I hope we are listening to offers on Bregman and combine whatever prospects he can bring back with our own to make a deal on Paredes. Get younger, cheaper and cover a corner spot for next couple years and keep this train somewhat on the tracks. We could be 12 games under .500 with or without Bregman at the end of August if we don’t get significant help. Tucker, Altuve, Yordan, Diaz, Pena, Paredes is a good 2/3 of an order for next year or longer if we can sign Tucker. Pitching gets healthy and find another outfielder and we are still team to beat in West for a couple more years. I know it’s kind of radical but I just hate to see another piece walk away for nothing unless we win it all. I just don’t see us getting the help in the next week.
  11. 8 and 9 should be 41 and 42 on the roster
  12. If they aren’t going to, or are not able to, do a complete upgrade at first, I would look at a potentially cheap platoon upgrade like Mark Canha. He hits .288 with OPS over .800 against left handers. If they are content with Singleton against RH.
  13. Diaz starting at first with his .103 batting average. Something feels strangely familiar… At least he broke up our outfielders batting 789
  14. Are they really going to try a platoon at first with Diaz? I don’t recall how he hit lefties but he hasn’t hit anything since he left Houston. I mean he did hit .333 in four games in Florida. It’s Abreu 2.0.
  15. Aledmys Diaz activated to roster, Kessinger sent down, Hensley DFA. I wanted a veteran bat on the bench but Diaz seemed done. Bet he starts at first tonight.
  16. Yes. Just posts junk. Put no stock into what he posts but I do like Paredes
  17. He’s my choice but no sure we have the capital. Can play 1st and 3rd when Bregman leaves.
  18. Been doing birthday and wedding shit all weekend and haven’t been able to watch first two games. Ready for this sweep today! Watching highlights it looks like I’ve missed some good ones. Loperfido has already made a handful of catches that Yordan or probably even Chas has no chance of making. If that guy figures it out at the plate he’s an asset. Enjoy watching him. But he will probably have to figure it out somewhere else. Cant have 3 glove first outfielders. DFA saved the outfield group at the plate last night with a big hit. OF batting 7 8 9 is suboptimal. Need a LF that can hit some too assuming Tucker grows a new leg and eventually comes back.
