  2. Not really I suppose. What the fuck is wrong with me?!?
  3. I don't understand this at all. This to me seems like I just totalled my car, and as I'm on the stretcher being put in the ambulance a police officer comes up and tells me, "Good news, I checked your trunk and it appears your subwoofers and amp weren't damaged!". Oh, great fucking news! Even though my car is done for, and I'm on the way to the hospital with no insurance since I lost my job, at least I have that bit of information to keep me feeling good about things. I mean, really? WTF?
  4. Hey guys, what we have here is what I affectionately refer to as "Corona-bait".
  5. Wow is right. While not surprising given the situation, it's still crazy to hear.
  6. The general consensus has been that as testing began in earnest the number of confirmed cases would grow very substantially, and as this happened the CFR would begin to drop significantly. Well, testing has indeed ramped up, and as we all thought the confirmed cases grew by a bunch. A month ago we sat at 84,615 confirmed cases. We're now at about 600,000. Unfortunately, the number of deaths has grown even faster, and now make up a larger percentage of confirmed cases. Virtually no one believed that would be the case. It is not a good indicator of things to come in my opinion.
  7. The last 8 weeks of confirmed cases, deaths, and the percentage of deaths out of the confirmed cases. 3/27/20 596,350 - 27,343 - 4.6% 3/20/20 275,550 - 11,386 - 4.1% 3/13/20 145,416 -5,428 - 3.7% 3/6/20 102,050 - 3,494 - 3.4% 2/28/20 84,615 - 2,923 - 3.5% 2/21/20 77,673 - 2,360 - 3.0% 2/14/20 67,100 - 1,526 - 2.3% 2/7/20 34,876 - 724 - 2.1%
  8. Here's a question I've been pondering, forgive me if I'm misunderstanding. When looking at exponential growth I always assumed it started with one person in one location, and all cases grew from this one cluster. However, is it not possible to have multiple clusters all growing exponentially simultaneously? For instance hypothetically the New York cluster could have begun in mid January with a single person flying in from China. Meanwhile a cluster across the country could have begun on a different date, starting with a different infected person from Italy. Couldn't scenarios like these have played out across the country over the last 3 months, with each cluster growing exponentially?
  9. Just want to point out most of these people are being forced to not come to work. They want, or at least need to come to work to pay their mortgage, vehicle payment, and put food on the table. I don't think many of these construction workers were relieved to hear the city is saving them from Coronavirus.
  10. Okay, I need to amend my statement regarding construction stopping. I'm not sure what's going on now. It looks like some projects haven't stopped working, but appear to not have as many workers on site. Are they just limiting the number of workers per jobsite? I don't know.
  11. I'll mention here as well though I also posted in the Downtown Projects thread. Construction sites have shut down in Austin. I saw a bunch of construction workers walking away from their jobsites this morning. I asked a guy and he confirmed they were being sent home.
  12. And just like that, construction sites have shut down. Apparently Austin's Shelter in Place order does not exclude construction.
  13. I mean just cuz it's the end of the world don't mean you still shouldn't look good, right?!?
  14. Damn straight. It contains just about everything you'll need for the apocalypse.
  15. JNCOs only seemed ridiculous back in the 90s. In reality they were just ahead of their time.
