  1. You guys are probably right. I didn’t realize it had been that long for IU. I don’t follow college basketball that closely when Texas isn’t good so it’s been awhile before this year.
  2. *native Americans cmon pancho. It’s 2021
  3. They’re a college basketball blue blood. I would assume most coaches around the country would view that as a better job than Texas, but again. I could be wrong.
  4. I phrased that poorly. I meant when people think about Texas athletics, they think “one of the blue bloods in college football, and arguably the richest history of any school for college baseball. Oh yeah, they play basketball too.” I feel like even when we’re going good, we don’t exactly have a reputation for selling out the Frank Erwin center every night.
  5. I would think he’d jump on Indiana way before he’d consider Texas, but hey man. I could be wrong. I just think Indiana is a much better job from a basketball coaches perspective.
  6. I’m 30 with two older brothers, one 32 and one 37. Both would probably read this thread and agree with all of y’all, but deep down, they know I’m right.
  7. Just looking for realistic expectations, man. I felt like saban leaving Bama to come to Texas was more realistic than Beard leaving tech to come to Texas, and the saban rumor was also absurd. Beard will get a much better job, if not this year, next year. He’ll be the coach at Kentucky before he considers a job like Texas IMO. But again, that’s just my opinion. I’d love to be wrong. Basketball is 3rd in the pecking order as far as sports go at this university. He’s better than that.
  8. It’s not that it isn’t more desirable. He’s better than that. He’s blue blood caliber. Why would he leave tech unless a blue blood came calling. He knows that’s coming eventually. Texas isn’t enough of a step up for him to leave a program that he’s already built. He has more job security right now than just about any coach in the country. He ain’t leaving unless a school that you just flat out can’t say no to opens up. He will be the first coach every a blue blood calls when a spot opens up.
  9. If by sniff the idea you mean use as leverage but never truly consider it, then yes. I agree. But Texas isn’t enough of a step up for a coach the caliber of Beard. This ain’t football or baseball. Basketball is 3rd in the pecking order. If Kentucky came calling that’s an easy decision. Beard isn’t leaving tech unless a basketball blue blood came calling. We are not even close to that.
  10. Maybe im missing something, but it’s laughable to think that beard would even sniff the idea of leaving tech for Texas. Kentucky? Yes. Indiana? Probably. Texas? Lol Fuck no. I’d love to be wrong though. I think some are putting way to much stock into the “he went to school here” narrative.
  11. Dan Brugler of the athletic, arguably the most reputable guy in the industry for draft coverage, said he’s heard it from more than a few scouts. So unless he is lying, or he was lied to, the answer to your question is scouts sho work for NFL teams.
  12. For the record, I agree. Just saying I’ve heard it from more than one person that follows this stuff for a living. If that’s who Shanahan is hand picking to trade up for, odds are he’s probably going to have a pretty decent career.
  13. I think part of the reason I like the songs is because I avoided them like the plague when I was younger. Everyone “hated” them and you didn’t want to get caught saying you liked creed. But as I got older, and when I only hear the songs 2 or 3 times a year, I realized their hits are pretty legit.
  14. Zach Wilson has been the consensus #2 qb for a while now. Some even have him over Lawrence. The Jets taking Lance over Wilson would definitely be a Jets move.
  15. Ortega v volkanovski was supposed to be on this card but volkanovski caught the rona.
  16. Falcons fans had a love hate relationship with Kazee. Said he was basically a boom or bust player game to game. Made huge plays for both teams in any given game. I like the move, but we still need to draft a FS
  17. Regarding his visit with the cowboys today...
  18. I don’t disagree with you necessarily, but before his pro day it was pretty unanimous that slater was a better overall prospect than Surtain. If you were taking BPA approach at a position of need, slater would be the better prospect. Not sure if that holds up after surtain’s pro day though. He’s a better athlete than most people thought
  19. The dream scenario would’ve been Surtain in the first and Cosmi in the 2nd, but Cosmi probably worked his way into the first round after his pro day numbers. We definitely need a tackle, so nobody should be mad if Slater is the pick in the first round.
  20. Pretty much this, although I wouldn’t hate the idea of drafting Kyle Pitts. I kinda just hope someone besides Philly takes him before we pick so we don’t have to be tempted though.
  21. everyone was really concerned about his 40 time so that time is exactly what he needed.
  22. I’m 100% down for Aldon smith coming back
  23. I haven’t been following this very closely but JFC. 1-2 you could argue against. Once you get to 10 different women with similar stories...
  24. Is “I told you so” dipshit really not going to speak?
