  1. Those Mary Kayes have always been a looker. Almost bought a reissue once. Send pics when you buy it
  2. Disagree it’s just a feet mechanics issue. He doesn’t actually have to be pressured to get nervous. He just has to see a blitzer coming. Their rushers may not even be engaged with our linemen before Quinn is trying to figure out what to do in a pocket that has yet to collapse. That’s mental, not mechanical.
  3. Yeah, but… that’s not what causes him to wilt on days where he’s not able to essentially play 7 on 7. It does not take much to get Quinn out of his game where he’s thinking more about the rush than what’s going on down field. And that’s somewhat damming for Someone at Quinn’s level of experience. He should see the blitz coming and start watering at the mouth with the opportunities it presents down field. If I was a D coordinator playing Texas, I would blitz early and make sure to get some licks on Quinn even if it cost a couple flags on Texas first two drives. If you let him just play 7 on 7, you are going to be down two touchdowns anyway en rout to getting blown out.
  4. My teenage kids convinced me to go see Smile 2 with them at the theater. Great flick that is as much psychological thriller and pop culture commentary as it is a horror movie. Has a telegraphed but still pretty devastating ending.
  5. "Apocalypse Now" in the theater at age 9. I guess my parents thought it was going to be a John Wayne style of war movie or something. The week after, my parents got called by my teacher who overheard me talking to other kids about " The heads. You're looking at the heads. Sometimes he goes too far. But... he's the first one to admit it." I probably wasn't too young to watch it, but I took Mary Jane Rottencrotch on a first date to see John Carpenter's "The Thing" without knowing much about it. I just thought scary movie, she'll be leaping into my arms for comfort. It scared the fuck out of both of us so much I had the ignoble honor of being the only kid I grew up with to not even get to first base with her.
  6. The Enigmatic (Dumble) is the one of these that I don’t own, so no direct experience with it specifically, but I own all the others and they pretty squarely hit their target.
  7. A few ways to do it. The pedals are loaded with cabinet impulse responses which can be turned on/off. So you can have the cabinet impulse response on and go direct to a clean amp/speaker or PA and it sounds like what I recorded. This is basically what I do when I play live. What is also possible with a traditional guitar amp (but I haven't tried) is to use a 4 cable wiring method to allow you to use your amp as normal, but also to use one of these pedals with your amps power amp and cabinet. In this case, you would want the cabinet impulse responses off because your normal amp is providing it. This essentially adds a new channel to your existing amp. The attached diagram shows how its wired up. Activate the UAFX pedal, and you bypass your amps preamp and you wind up with the pedals sound getting amplified by your amp's power amp and rendered by its speaker. All connectivity options are discussed here https://help.uaudio.com/hc/en-us/articles/13963018486932-Connecting-Your-UAFX-Pedals
  8. Punish them with this run game, then get cute when they adjust.
  9. Dammit, its the lamentation of their sows. Get it right.
  10. I totally get it. There's a difference between being willfully ignorant and adequately informed, and theres a difference between being adequately informed and an anxiety riddled political news junkie. Its good to keep in mind that many people benefit from the exploitation of your personal anger or fear. Angry and afraid people are malleable and able to be motivated. They will read, tune in, like, subscribe, share, donate, vote, defend and more. Angry and afraid people are a valuable form of business, political and military capital. And many people are looking to cultivate them, not just people on the right. Which isn't to say there aren't valid reasons to be angry and afraid at times, but once you have enough information to be informed, nothing is gained by gluttonously consuming more of the same information. At that point, you are giving others access to the controls of your subconscious.
  11. I got to play the Knuckles over lunch and recorded a little ditty that started to emerge. This is a great pedal for that 90s grunge or metal sound.
  12. Yeah, that's no bueno. I have played my brothers deco a lot and twisted lots of knobs and never heard any rice krispies like that.
  13. I really love my brother's Deco, may need to see about getting one of those. I wish it had stereo in as well as out.
  14. Continuing my love affair with the UAFX amp in a box pedals, this arrived today. Mimics a 1992 Mesa boogie dual rectifier. Will post more after I get to play it.
  15. Gunsmokeshow
  16. They don't like what they see in the mirror.
  17. Now we just need Alex Jones as director of the CIA!
  18. So 75% of it is that your dog is a sexy bitch? Impressive!
  19. Yeah, I grew up 5 minutes away from Mexico, and it always struck me how different life was there. I was born into a privileged family. We had far more than most and never were concerned with money. Then I would go to Mexico and see all the shanty towns on the hills, and kids trying to sell you chicles to help their family, the prostitutes in boys town trying to survive selling what they had to sell. And I was taken aback by how much lower their standard of living was compared to mine, and that the only real difference between them and I was that they were born 5 minutes south beyond an imaginary line drawn on a drying riverbed. And then I would pass all that by and get to my real destination. The house of the wealthy, politically connected family that was the ruling class in Mexico. I was friend with their son who was sent to private school in the U.S. to be educated. I was taken aback again by how much higher their standard of living was compared to mine. The thousands of acres, the mission-style mansion, the landing strip and private plane in the backyard. It was disconcertingly difficult to try and not be taken aback by the extravagance. I think we are on a similar road in the United States, just behind the curve.
  20. I had a bad dream before the election. In my dream, the election aftermath (it was a "stolen" Trump loss) was used to engineer a crash of the US economy/dollar and a huge gain in bitcoin. It shook me up enough that I went ahead and signed up on coinbase and bought an emergency fund worth of bitcoin. Well, none of my dream happened (thankfully), but my crypto buy is up 21% in roughly 2 weeks. I think I am going to keep it going with a target to get to 4 months of living expenses in crypto just in case. If its still growing beyond that, I'll re-evaluate whether to let it ride or start pulling some gains out. I have a feeling there are a lot of people like me driving what is happening. People who aren't mentally or fiscally going all in on crypto, but who see pro-crypto forces coming into power, some significant economic turbulence ahead and who want a place other than cash or stocks to park some emergency reserves into.
  21. Yeah, this is a symptom of being left alone to wander the intardnet without guidance/controls. Porn is just one of the hawkers vying for young men's attention in their hours spent online.
  22. Haven't personally seen that as a big issue with the youngins I drew my observations from, but I don't doubt that isn't a major issue for many.
  23. I mean, voters made it clear that they weren't buying any of the warnings about the dangers of a vote for Trump. Its all hypothetical fear mongering to win an election... until it isn't. The shit being warned about is going to have to be made manifest before it moves the needle with a critical mass of people. That doesn't mean those fears are guaranteed to happen or that anyone should take joy from it if they do, but it is the reality of where we are at. Its all up to Trump and his party now. Are you who you say you are, or who the democrats said you are? I don't need anyone's expectant opinion on that. We are all going to know pretty quickly.
