  1. This isn't about giving Trump a pass for being what he is. This is about making sure that a man like Trump doesn't take the steering wheel again by giving him an adversary that doesn't mumble and drool when matched up against him in a forum where voters can see them side by side in real time. People are talking about Biden being old and senile because he showed himself to be that during a live debate against Trump where all Trump had to do was let Biden talk. You and Biden can't control the narrative because people saw what they fucking saw. If people aren't seeing what Trump is and talking about that, it's because Biden has failed to show them. Because he was incapable of doing so in that debate. He could only show himself to be old and feeble. That's the reality we face, no matter what you want anyone else to believe. I am incredibly disappointed and disgusted with the Democratic Party at the moment. They and their base are showing that they also value their party over country. That does not mean I'm going to vote for Trump, but it does mean I've lost faith in the opposition and I will not be contributing my energy and resources for them to continue to squander ineptly. I'll save it for whatever succeeds them that hasn't proven itself to be a fucking clown show.
  2. If Biden doesn't step down, I don't think anyone is going to disrupt the convention. The D faithful will put on a consolidated front for the cameras. The main effect of Biden staying in the race is that you won't see any enthusiasm for him from the people that don't identify as democrats, and you won't see money flowing in like it has from the BMD's that are growing disenfranchised with the Dems poor strategery. What no one knows is how that donor and voter disenfranchisement is going to translate to vote totals in November. In my circles in a light blue area of Colorado, it's going to cost Joe about 20% of the votes a young, moderate democrat would get.
  3. Or, you could take it as the most extreme form of rejection. When even a serial killer won't have you...
  4. Wait, I thought the enshittening thread was over there? But its over here. And over there. And over there, too. Well, shit.
  5. Get ready for a half full stadium on Election Day.
  6. Hell fucking yes. At this point in time, we need Dems to be a pragmatic meritocracy that puts country over party or personal interests. If Obama can displace Hilary, then anything is possible given the will to act in the best interest of the country and nominate a vigorous young moderate that will appeal to centrists and independents. They are begging and pleading for an alternative to Trump that they can have faith in. I know Republicans should put country over party and are far more egregiously wrong. I don’t give a shit. They are a lost cause. This is about stopping their darkest fringe from erecting an American apartheid. I am excited to see mega donors starting to hold Dems to a higher standard than their ineptly shitty business as usual.
  7. Sorry, @RomaVicta, your fired as the new campaign manager. Suit up, @Chuckie Finster.
  8. I nominate you to run the new campaign.
  9. Well, now China knows when to invade Taiwan.
  10. Exactly. Biden had a golden opportunity to make a case against Trump 2.0 with undecided voters and instead he made Trump's case that Biden isn't mentally competent at this point. One thing that a Biden withdrawal would bring is an opportunity for him and his successor to speak to a large captive audience when announcing it. More people, and especially undecided voters, will tune it to see it live than tuned in for the debate. Both Biden and Kamala or whoever takes over should hammer the messaging you suggest home for that captive audience.
  11. Who am I to judge where anyone disposes of their disposable income? Pursue your happiness with 1 guitar or 100. Just make sure to post pics, because I like ogling guitars.
  12. Chaffee is light blue on that map and that's pretty accurate. The vast majority of people are very tolerant and very accepting. There are a few assholes that like being as loud as possible about how they are living under liberal oppression.
  13. Chaffee county with Salida and Buena Vista would be as good a place as any outside of Denver, unless you can afford to live in Summit (Breckenridge), Eagle (Vail) or Dolores (Telluride) counties. The light blue on the bottom left is La Plata county where Durango is. The blue in the south central is Costilla county, and I'm not sure why it's so blue. There is not much there, and I've driven through it, and it doesn't match what I see in other counties. Poor, undereducated, white and rural is almost always a recipe for MAGA.
  14. Yeah, there are spots that are rural and not crazy here in CO, and it usually aligns with affluence and education. Just look at county voting maps, they tell you where you definitely don't want to be.
  15. One scenario I think you could see with a MAGA reshaping of the federal government (I'll use Colorado as an example, because there is a shit ton of MAGA crazy here in rural areas): Colorado take steps to protect rights for its citizens that stand to be marginalized if Project 2025 happens. The executive orders and federal law alluded to in Project 2025 are enacted that contradicts those state protections. Rural MAGA militia types take it upon themselves to enforce the federal laws by breaking the state laws. The state will step in to enforce their laws. As the state law is applied to the militia types who deputized themselves to enforce federal laws, those vigilantes will appeal to Trump and MAGA to intercede and protect them. If it ever gets to that point, I don't know what happens. I guess it depends on how beneficent Trump is feeling that day. I'm sure Steve Bannon will be around to remind him that Colorado tried to keep him off the ballot.
  16. Good, can we get MI6 to meddle in our elections?
  17. He's having real problems. Batter up.
  18. I’ve got some jingle in my stable’s jangle now. Bought a Guild F-1512 b-stock/demo and I can’t tell why it would have ever been returned. Spruce top, rosewood back and sides. Sounds glorious and plays… well, it plays like a long scale 12 string jumbo acoustic, lol.
  19. Sure, but of the people I know that are centrists and independents (and that's most people I know), I think all of them would vote for Kamala over Trump. If it's Trump vs Biden, I think most of them stay home. I mean, there are no great options at this point. Nothing ideal. Biden suddenly and alarmingly being unfit to continue to be candidate is something that should have been game planned for years ago. It wasn't (fuck you Dems). So, given that, what's the most likely to succeed of the Dem's shitty options? It isn't this: As for the coffers of fairy dust and unicorn farts, yeah, that's why I am picking Kamala as the least shitty alternative to the shittiest option of staying the course. Has it been discussed whether she could stay VP and someone else take over as the Presidential nominee without all the fundraising issues of a completely new ticket? Also, why can't Biden now just issue an executive order declaring any laws that make swapping candidates financially problematic null and void? 😜
  20. If Biden stays the nominee, he's going to have a magnifying glass on him to catch anything he does that might be attributable to age/dementia/cognitive decline. He's got to be perfect at impersonating a 60 year old man the rest of the way. Given what I saw in the debate, he can't do that, and when he inevitably fails, the reaction will be worse than what you see now and any preceding moments of energetic lucidity won't matter. There is blood in the water, and the sharks have taken notice. What I hope happens: He bows out with some dignity intact, Kamala is the nominee, she channels Obama as a candidate and people have a different choice than criminal vs AZ patient. Independent voters are begging for a different choice and they will respond favorably. Her race and gender will work against her only with people that were already going to vote Trump. For everyone not a zealot for either party, they just want to see a viable candidate to vote for. They dislike and vaguely fear Trump and want to vote for another option that is fit to be President -- except there isn't one. Not after Biden's debate performance. If we want to avoid what is coming with a 2nd Trump Presidency this is the only shot. Make Kamala the nominee and immediately challenge Trump to a new debate. When he refuses, make it known far and wide that Donald Trump is a chickenshit criminal who is terrified of debating a black woman. "Black Woman" is only a negative to racists and misogynists. Use what they despise as a strength and expose Trump as the candidate for racism and misogyny. That certainly won't win him any new votes. Dems will win in a landslide.
  21. Maybe, but is it inaccurate? I mean, everyone is saying Kamala can't be who takes over for Biden because she's black and/or a woman and won't win. None of which matters to me personally when deciding on who I'll vote for, but if it matters to the populace, then clearly her vice presidency was an idea whose time had not yet come.
