  1. You are fucking brilliant. Let’s remove all pretense in conservative news and combine the news with pr0n. We’ll call it Newslyfans, and the males on screen will be hateful incels talking hateful politics and the females on screen will be hot Stepford sex bots fawning all over them and asking them how they should vote.
  2. Along the lines of Zappa would be Robert Fripp. King Crimson has been about 12 different bands over 50 years. those prog rock groups of the 70s were always very incestuous. Greg Lake was on KC first album and there for Emerson, Lake & Palmer (which probably falls into the supergroup category). Bill Bruford drummed for Yes, KC, Genesis and had a solo career, etc….
  3. Also really digging the universal audio amp plugins, but you need to use a UA Apollo interface to get all its features. I do, so I don’t know what you might “lose” using another interface. They have a 2 week trial for each amp plugin, though, so you can try before you buy. All the guitar in my last 3 clips in the “Share Your Music” thread are using the Friedman Buxom Betty, Suhr SE100 or Diezel VH4 UA amp plugins. https://www.uaudio.com/uad-plugins/guitar-bass.html
  4. Tonex CS as a VST plug-in is free for some great amp tones. Start there if you just want to dip your toes in the water. With the paid version of Tonex plus Amplitude, you could make any signal chain imaginable in terms of a pedal board/amp combination.
  5. Ok, for the foreseeable future, which currently is about two weeks.
  6. This arrived Christmas Eve and I’m really happy with it for a $250 guitar. Relief, action and intonation needed tweaking, and it plays great after that. These pickups sound pretty good, bright and twangy like you’d expect. I’m gonna keep it and not sure I’m going to modify it more than a fret polish and nut work to eliminate note sharpness on the first couple frets.
  7. @bernorange I'm sorry your supposition that government acts as the Eye of Sauron at the frontiers of business is ridiculous and failed to garner the engagement here that you desired. Maybe your next kooky fringe post will garner the discussion you seek. Good luck.
  8. I think government should safeguard the public against wanton capitalism and corporations that operate only with their profit motive as a north star. As an example, take the Boeing 737 max debacle. Deregulation and cuts led to Boeing pretty much solely responsible for its own regulatory compliance and inspections. That regulatory vacuum plus human fallibility and greed led to multiple crashes and over 5,000 deaths. A government that had not abdicated its responsibility to the public wouldn't have allowed that. So let me ask you this: If the government (specifically the FAA) would have made Boeing adhere to appropriate safety standards, that would have resulted in the 737 rollout being delayed until it was safe, and that would have resulted in Boeing and its shareholders suffering financial harm. Would that act constitute the government influencing who wins or loses within the aviation industry? Or would it constitute the government serving the public's best interests?
  9. I guess America is exporting again.
  10. Cheap Chinese guitars with a reputation for punching way above their price point. Like, in all the "best guitar value" threads on thegearpage.com, Harley Benton is always heavily mentioned as a cheap brand providing a good guitar that can be upgraded to be a great guitar. They are pretty unashamed about their plagiarism of well-known brands, and are sold exclusively through Thomann in Germany. They generally cost anywhere from $80 to $350 depending on the model/line/features and apparently have no quality control whatsoever. They make up for it by having a 30 day return for any reason policy to get a full refund. You will have to pay to ship it back. From the people that regularly buy these things, they say it is somewhat of a crap shoot as to what you get, with maybe 3 out of every 4 guitars being keepers with the 4th one having some sort of issue that isn't cheaply curable. They just return those. That is why I bought from from their US-located Reverb store. The guitar has already made it to the states. Turnaround time to receive the guitar is about like that of any US E-tailer. If I want to return it, I am only paying to ship it to Connecticut vs Germany. My sample size of 1 guitar basically aligns with what everyone was saying on TGP. The HB HSH Fusion cost $350, played well out of the box, and really good after a basic set up. It would have needed some nut work and a fret polish and its playability would have been great and at least close to that of the guitar it is a rip off of, the 10x as expensive Suhr Modern Pro which I have owned. It sounded like ass, though, and would have needed to have at least its pickups replaced if not all of its electronics to get anywhere close. With the original purchase price of the guitar and some new pickups, I would have exceeded the $650 I paid for a Mark Holcomb PRS SE I recently bought which plays and sounds really good with no work. They were both vying to be my high gain guitar for recording, and I wasn't ever going to keep both. So I returned the Harley Benton. I was impressed enough by its playability to try something else from them. I don't have anything with filtertrons, so the $249 Cabronita tele is on its way.
  11. I almost pulled the trigger on the pRick 12 string, but its an on-request only order that will take 6-8 weeks to complete and have to be shipped from Thomann in Germany. I kind of want to make sure Harley Benton's are a more calculated risk before I tie up some disposable music income for that long. HB has an "official" Reverb store located in the U.S. so anything you buy through that has already made it to the states and is shipped direct to you from Connecticut. Prices are higher on Reverb by about $80 with free shipping to you, but the same cheaper-priced item from Thomann costs about $80 to ship to the US. So it evens out to be more or less equal in price whether you order direct from Thomman or the HB US reverb store. You get the same 30 day return for any reason policy for each. But there is no international shipping involved if you go the reverb store route. The Reverb store's stock is not as full as Thomman's.
  12. Anyone got a link to general info about wtf is going on? The context of the engagement?
  13. Took the 30 day return policy from Harley Benton to send back the HSH as the value proposition wasn't great factoring in the need for all new electronics. Am now taking a flier on one of their Cabronita style tele's with filtertrons. I hope this is as playable, but a bit better sounding. If pickups need to be replaced, should be a bit cheaper replacing 2vs3. We'll see!
  14. I am guessing your guess is correct. I know a guy, a former vet, he came back from Iraq somewhat messed up. He never successfully rejoined civilian-life and eventually left his wife and kids to be a singer/songwriter full time. He has been living for the last several years not on the success of his singer/songwriter talents, but on various grants from help-a-vet non-profits.
  15. We've entered a new era of vehicle negotiations.
  16. The UAP & Banking Crisis convergence is surely the breaking of the 7th seal.
  17. I think you are correct, he motivates some disenfranchised kooks to get out and vote. If that’s pulling votes from someone, it’s probably Trump.
  18. Does this shooting at the capitol even the score for Ashli Babbit?
