  1. There is something fundamental about MAGA adherents on display here: I do what I want, when I want and everyone else must accept my antisocial behavior or else I’m going to ruin everything. To the degree that MAGA represents any ideology, it’s the ideology of sociopathy. If only Quinn Gallagher had been smart enough to take her to a theater production at Baylor.
  2. To be fair, you could describe her actions as a form of worship.
  3. JoeB can play the hell out of the guitar I mean, close your eyes and listen to this. Don't look at his douchey mug, and forget he just tried to sell you some overpriced, official JoeB merchandise you don't need or want. Its objectively pretty fucking good. My only real gripe about the guy is he's just not authentic as a bluesman and never has been. He dons a bluesy costume, walks on stage, and pretends to be a bluesman for 2 hours while playing a lot of songs he didn't write and singing about experiences he's never had to endure. He was born into privilege, had connections to open doors for him early and has never been a starving artist paying his dues, let alone the poor child of a Mississippi delta sharecropper turning to music to purge his personal pain. But that alone isn't the problem. I mean, everyone here performs covers about experiences they never had and with considerably less skill than JoeB would. I think it's that coupled with the fact that other people put him on a pedestal as the modern king of blues. The grammys he's received for best blues albums are not validation of him as a blues man, they are indictment of the grammys. And while that is not something he controls, he certainly accepts and exploits it. Anyway, that doesn't mean he can't play or that I can't have fun at one of his shows ogling his guitars or even enjoy hearing him close with "Mountain Time" (a lighthearted, original and decidedly non-blues number that he might actually have experienced). But it does mean I'll have at best a tepid emotional reaction to all the blues songs he performs about pain and suffering. "Ok, Biff. Tell me again about your life jumping boxcars and how the white man is holding you down."
  4. Man, I’m becoming really conflicted here. On the one hand, she is a horrific MAGAtician of loose morals who would bring down the country in about a minute. On the other hand, she’s a wanton vixen of loose morals who would pull you into a janitors closet for an impromptu BJ.
  5. So you are saying you were master baited by the admin of the BBS you are posting on?
  6. Texas 52, Baylor 0. That’s a point for every rape victim at Baylor between the years 2011-2014. 225 yds.
  7. I've been absent from this thread as I've kind of put composing/recording aside as I've gotten more involved playing live again this year. I've concentrated on two things Being able to recognize chords and key to quickly contribute and sit in with some established gigging bands in the area; I've had 4-5 gigs like that this summer A looper-powered one man band performance where I can play faux drums, bass, acoustic and rhythm guitar to lay backing tracks live, then provide an instrumental improvisation over it This video is an example of #2 from an art show gig I did a month or so ago. One of the things I'm experimenting with in the one man band setting are some covers, where I play a fair amount of the vocal melody with guitar. This is from a practice session, but you'll get the idea... The live music scene here is very seasonal, Memorial Day through Halloween. I'll likely spend the offseason working on composing and recording, and in season playing live either in open jams, sitting in with some of the bands I've gotten connected to, or doing one-man jam band things like the above in settings where it makes sense.
  8. Cynical centrist rant. A big part of the problem is that Trump is really good for the fiscal, political or ideological business of too many people. He's good business for the crazy, alt right fringe politicians that have taken over the GOP and fundraise off his "persecution" He's good business for conservative media who sell access to the conservative voters who prefer the above crazy, alt right fringe He's good business for the true believers from Magaville that want to see him triumph and America to be remade in his image He's good business for politicians on the left who fundraise off his threat to democracy and civilized, ordered society He's good business for mainstream media who sell access to their audience which are centrist and liberal voters who are terrified of a 2nd Trump Presidency He's good business for the true believers of the far left who see Trump's candidacy as the vehicle for driving far-left change Trump is objectively bad for Moderates of the Republican party who are increasingly an endangered species as they get driven from the party Centrists of no or loose party affiliation who are increasingly an endangered species as they are forced to pick a side (bell curve inversion) The health of a civilized and ordered society which no one gives a shit about if there's a profit (again fiscal, political or ideological) to be made from the rancor and strife that Trump brings. There's never been a greater argument for the need of a "Deep State" than Donald Trump. There needs to be a judicial entity within our federal government to hold people like him accountable for their crimes, and that entity needs to not have a profit motive coupled to someone like him being a continuing threat to a civil and ordered society.
  9. You could look at this game as imposterously strong team plays down to competition and flirts with disaster. Or you could look at this game as a gutsy win where key players turned it on in the 4th quarter to seal a victory in an emotional letdown weak. I think the latter is more accurate.
  10. So your going to reach across the aisle and unite our cuntry?
  11. Sorta interesting... https://www.reuters.com/technology/gigacasting-20-tesla-reinvents-carmaking-with-quiet-breakthrough-2023-09-14/
  12. She's just having a good time, its all those other assholes in the theater marshing her mellow who are wrong.
  13. I'm only surprised she didn't draw on the lizard baby.
  14. I’m not unsure this wasn’t staged performance art. A key to her continued service in government is convincing mountain Cletus that she is making the establishment in Denver uncomfortable. This is gonna make the people that vote for her like her more.
  15. Oh, yay, the GOP swings more radically to the right. That's been so good for the country.
  16. That this story ended without a tazing saddens me.
  17. That's not really a thin blue line, relatively speaking.
  18. Sorry, but we're gonna need more bodies for this case to be worth @Nicole44's time.
  19. Never Forget* * offer excludes crimes, immorality and/or ethical lapses perpetrated by the 45th President of the United States
  20. There are sooooo many stupid motherfuckers to choose from, you're gonna have to be more specific.
