  1. Ol Gerasimov was told about the Ukrainian troop buildup ahead of the attack but dismissed it. Then told Putin at the security council meeting that the advance had been stopped (that video has been posted). Gerasimov was not part of the most recent security council meeting. Hang in there, Gerry.
  2. Glad to have Machinator back. He said he'll stay until the season opener. Is there a known backstory there I'm unaware of?
  3. Probably trying to relieve pressure on the fronts where Russia is making consistent advances
  4. Full story in the video "I set fire and left with peace of mind" - sailor "Goga" burned down a Russian ship and joined the side of Ukraine. "Goga" is a former serviceman of the Russian Baltic Fleet. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he opposed the war, for which he was deprived of access to weapons, rearranged to put on watch and prepared to be sent to the "special military operation". The sailor managed to escape from the Russian Federation with the help of the GUR and the Freedom of Russia Legion, but before that, he burned down the ship he was serving on. "I called the commander of the combat unit, and they were at sea right then. I said, "You came from the sea, you are tired. Have a rest, and I'll be on duty." And I stayed alone on the ship for 24 hours. That's it. I set fire and left the ship," "Goga" said.
  5. More purges of people close to Shoigu: The head of Russia's military park and a top Defense Ministry official are arrested for fraud https://apnews.com/article/russia-military-arrests-putin-patriot-park-defense-04da2edce59bdb65f2029b6456385f54
  6. And to bring these 2 posts together: Pretty sure it's a Boston a Dynamics robot I saw on 60 minutes.
  7. I'll admit I teared up watching them sing their anthem on tv last night
  8. Nothing from the more reliable accounts yet
  9. The Ukrainian General Staff issued the statement that - aside from a S-400 air defense battery - the Russian Improved-Kilo-Class submarine "Rostov-na-Donu" (B-237) has been destroyed in the port of Russian-occupied Sevastopol. Satellite pictures released by the TG channel "DniproOfficial" show that the cover of docking area, where the Rostov was recently docked, is littered with burn marks. This submarine was struck last year in September by Ukrainian missiles and was heavily damaged. Russians have been trying to repair that submarine since then. 10. Major drone attack by Ukraine last night. This airfield supposedly housed the SU-34s that have been destroying Ukrainian positions with glide bombs Potentially a lot of planes there:
  11. No. Read what I said, then shut up or meaningfully contribute
  12. Kremlin says an FSB agent and deep-cover Russian 'sleeper' agents among those returned in swap https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/kremlin-says-an-fsb-agent-deep-cover-russian-sleeper-agents-among-those-returned-2024-08-02/
  13. There are regular pro Putin/Musk trolls who show up with virtually no posting history. That's why you received that greeting
