  1. 🤡 Russian security services detained a man for allegedly passing information about the routes of arms transportation to the front line During the detention, law enforcers allegedly found a US flag and the American anthem handwritten on a piece of paper. The defendant was charged with criminal case under the article "State treason". The agency claims that the Dzerzhinsk resident established contact "with organizations acting against the security of the Russian Federation for ideological reasons" Reminds me of when the FSB discovered weapons, Ukrainian passports, brand new Nazi flags, and The Sims video game (instead of SIM cards) in a terrorist ring bust.
  2. Russian Telegram channels shared more details about the Russian aircraft that crashed yesterday in Crimea. Reportedly, it was a Su-27 and it was shot down by the Russian Pantsir anti-aircraft missile-gun system. For some unknown reason, the air defense did not receive notification of the departure of their Su-27. Because the Pantsir system's combat crew did not receive a response from the Su-27 pilot to its interrogation, a decision was made to fire the plane for effect. As it became known later, the system's crew interrogation did not reach the Su-27 pilot because the IFF interrogator on the Pantsir system was not working correctly. Some Russian media called this a "technical deficiency."
  3. Better look at that Su-35 from yesterday
  4. Don't see a thread about Havana Syndrome, so I guess this goes here. Scott Pelly will have a full report in 60 Minutes Sunday, but this seems pretty interesting. They don't specifically state the connection to Havana Syndrome, but they indicate there is one: https://www.cbsnews.com/video/connection-revealed-between-havana-syndrome-speeding-mustang-in-florida/#x

  6. Not truly an exact replica, but still telling.
  7. My Liberty rates for home insurance doubled in December. Car insurance also increased significantly. I promptly found a smaller company (Grange) that only resulted in a very modest increase to both.
  8. A daily newsletter I subscribe to (The Morning Dispatch) seemed to hit the sweet spot between detail and readability on this topic. It is spoilered below.
  9. Looks like they hit a few major targets Officially confirmed! In Sevastopol, the Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully hit the large landing ships Yamal and Azov, a communications center and several infrastructure facilities of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the General Staff reported. OSINTtechnical reports that at least three Storm Shadow missiles hit the main communications center of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. According to the OSINTtechnical project, military units of missile gunners and FSB are also located there. Last night, the most massive attack "for the entire time of the SMO" was carried out on Sevastopol, official Russian channels wrote. According to the occupation authorities of the peninsula, allegedly "the air defense system shot down several dozen missiles, including British Storm Shadow missiles, on their approach to the city." The occupiers confirm that the main communications center of the Russian Black Sea Fleet was the target of the attack. According to Russian media, 34 military personnel were killed, 40 wounded, and three Su-27 airplanes were damaged at the Belbek airfield.
  10. Interesting. This seems to fit Robert Hanson pretty well.
  11. Death toll up to 115 and the Kremlin has confirmed it was ISIS. Just kidding, they detained 4 people who were just about to sneak into Ukraine... Of course https://apnews.com/article/russia-moscow-krasnogorsk-gunmen-concert-hall-fire-97e321c3c477ece36d4fb32f50fa0e8a

  13. Am I correct that any app you use that would allow you to get around these issues would require both sender and receiver to use that app?
  14. Worth noting that the American government warned Americans in Russia to avoid large gatherings a few weeks go. We clearly knew something was up. Some experts are saying they believe the US would've shared that intelligence with Russia. Edit: just saw 956 mentioned this earlier.
  15. Saw it too. Essentially close-range executions of people cornered.
  16. Air defenses seem to be struggling. Ammo running low or gaps in the defense?
