  1. Not truly an exact replica, but still telling.
  2. My Liberty rates for home insurance doubled in December. Car insurance also increased significantly. I promptly found a smaller company (Grange) that only resulted in a very modest increase to both.
  3. A daily newsletter I subscribe to (The Morning Dispatch) seemed to hit the sweet spot between detail and readability on this topic. It is spoilered below.
  4. Looks like they hit a few major targets Officially confirmed! In Sevastopol, the Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully hit the large landing ships Yamal and Azov, a communications center and several infrastructure facilities of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the General Staff reported. OSINTtechnical reports that at least three Storm Shadow missiles hit the main communications center of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. According to the OSINTtechnical project, military units of missile gunners and FSB are also located there. Last night, the most massive attack "for the entire time of the SMO" was carried out on Sevastopol, official Russian channels wrote. According to the occupation authorities of the peninsula, allegedly "the air defense system shot down several dozen missiles, including British Storm Shadow missiles, on their approach to the city." The occupiers confirm that the main communications center of the Russian Black Sea Fleet was the target of the attack. According to Russian media, 34 military personnel were killed, 40 wounded, and three Su-27 airplanes were damaged at the Belbek airfield.
  5. Interesting. This seems to fit Robert Hanson pretty well.
  6. Death toll up to 115 and the Kremlin has confirmed it was ISIS. Just kidding, they detained 4 people who were just about to sneak into Ukraine... Of course https://apnews.com/article/russia-moscow-krasnogorsk-gunmen-concert-hall-fire-97e321c3c477ece36d4fb32f50fa0e8a

  8. Am I correct that any app you use that would allow you to get around these issues would require both sender and receiver to use that app?
  9. Worth noting that the American government warned Americans in Russia to avoid large gatherings a few weeks go. We clearly knew something was up. Some experts are saying they believe the US would've shared that intelligence with Russia. Edit: just saw 956 mentioned this earlier.
  10. Saw it too. Essentially close-range executions of people cornered.
  11. Air defenses seem to be struggling. Ammo running low or gaps in the defense?
  12. I desperately hope they're forced to change, but it's been their MO since I can remember. I never got an iPod because they put it in their own "special" format while everyone else in the world was using mp3s. I know Apple recently promised to allow their devices to interact more nicely with others in messaging, so I wonder if that was a way to preclude the issues raised here.
  13. You seem really worked up on this. I think it's clear what Braff is saying. Those who are abused have a higher risk of being abusers. This is supported by the study and many others. Of course the entire population of abusers isn't mostly victims of abuse (which is what you seem to be arguing against), but that's just because victims are thankfully only a small percentage of the entire population. This isn't ground breaking. Cycles of abuse, violence, addiction, and healthy functioning in families are well documented. Some children exit the cycles for myriad reasons, while others repeat them.

  15. Anyone else getting only negative Forbes articles about Ukraine? Seems like I get them in my Google News feed daily and they're never about anything positive for Ukraine and usually phrased in a pro Russian way. Not that negative things shouldn't be reported of course, but the phrasing and frequency of positive to negative is curious.
  16. I mean sure if you go to the nicer parts of any area, you'll find some attractive people but the ratio in corpus isn't favorable. This. I haven't spent extended time there since HS but I don't think it's changed dramatically. Unless obese cholas are your thing.
  17. Jake Sullivan just announced the US found $300MM in "cost savings" from negotiating previous packages and is announcing a new emergency security package of aid for Ukraine. He emphasized that it's nowhere near enough. https://apnews.com/article/ukraine-supplemental-war-russia-congress-4aa3731543757156858c2211773a5621
  18. Riff Raff wronged you. You should fervently pursue this... and post it here.
