  1. After heavy losses at Klishchiivka, south of Bakhmut, a Russian elite airborne brigade notorious for atrocities at Bucha was forced to make a chaotic retreat under fire, suffering more casualties, and some survivors were detained for refusing orders to immediately return to combat, Russian open-source site CIT says citing Russian reports A powerful Ukrainian assault forced Russia's 83rd Airborne Assault Brigade to retreat on foot without an evacuation plan, only to be given "illegally issued orders" to go right back to the front, the Russian troops complained in a video appeal Russian draftees in another unit at Klishchiivka - the 1442nd Regiment - also refused to fight after suffering heavy losses under Ukrainian fire while being sent into combat without ammunition, their relatives said in an appeal. Some of the refuseniks were reportedly being held in a pit The Russian airborne troops said they were "fraudulently" sent to Klishchiivka, where they spent 15 days under mortar fire without Russian artillery or air support or communications (which had been shut down by Ukrainian electronic warfare) Meanwhile, Ukrainian drones reportedly zipped around freely overhead underhindered by Russian electronic warfare After refusing to fight, they said they were threatened with being forced to join a "Storm-Z" unit of ex-convicts, notorious for being deployed in Russia's virtually suicidal so-called "meat assaults" CIT report notes.citeam.org/ru-dispatch-ju… My post on recent Ukrainian advances south of Bakhmut twitter.com/ArmedMaidan/st… Russian airborne troops' appeal t.me/astrapress/319… Appeal by Russian draftees' relatives archive.is/wJzF9 Map source: deepstatemap.live/en#13/48.5258/… After heavy losses at Klishchiivka, south of Bakhmut, a Russian elite airborne brigade notorious for atrocities at Bucha was forced to make a chaotic retreat under fire, suffering more casualties, and some survivors were detained for refusing orders to immediately return to combat, Russian open-source site CIT says citing Russian reports A powerful Ukrainian assault forced Russia's 83rd Airborne Assault Brigade to retreat on foot without an evacuation plan, only to be given "illegally issued orders" to go right back to the front, the Russian troops complained in a video appeal Russian draftees in another unit at Klishchiivka - the 1442nd Regiment - also refused to fight after suffering heavy losses under Ukrainian fire while being sent into combat without ammunition, their relatives said in an appeal. 2. Some important points by Kofman here. I believe Jake Sullivan also pointed this out in defending the US's decision: this opens up a large stockpile of artillery ammunition that would otherwise be unavailable and goes a long way in helping bridge the gap between now and when Ukrainian allies are able to fully ramp up production as the year progresses. This is all in addition to the unique benefits cluster munitions provide.
  3. Additional HIMARS ammunition= ATACMS?
  4. The Ukrainians seem to be fiercely defending their positions on the other side of the Dnipro
  5. Purple rain remix anyone?
  6. Welp, that would be helpful. Is this practical for mine clearing too?
  7. Interesting thread here.
  8. This. There may be a better way to do the age verification that helps protect privacy (I don't know what that would be), but the data have stacked up against the current norm of unregulated ubiquitous adolescent social media use.
  9. Sladkov - Russian armed formations left Klischiivka! "We left Kleshcheevka. This is near Bakhmut. It is necessary to check this, I'll be glad if this is reguted. If it's true, then it's bad. Bakhmut is under fire control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. I can’t say a bad word about our guys who left. According to my data, there is again a shell diet. I'll be glad to be wrong. You won't be strong without strength. The weak don't win. The city of Bakhmut is under threat of assault. Can we keep it? Who knows." Big boom at the mid point of the video.
  10. I assume we'll provide clusters and ATACMS before announcing it...
  11. A reporter from the British Telegraph had just left minutes earlier (and unexpectedly due to a last minute interview opportunity). He said the restaurant is frequented by military, but just like any restaurant would be in an area that has an ongoing war. The Ukrainians arrested a guy they said was taking pictures of the location and sending it to the Russians.
  12. Despite the encouraging statements by Russian officials, the Antonovsky Bridge foothold is causing a very palpable concern among the Russians. All day yesterday they discussed the footage of Russian soldiers ending up under a heavy barrage while attempting to moor on the Dnieper in a small boat. This was followed by mass calls to find boats all across Russia and bring them in. Today, even Girkin who previously dismissed the perspectives of such a foothold, came out with a very long post saying Russians are unable to "dislodge" the Ukrainian defence forces (full post here t.me/strelkovii/5847, here t.me/strelkovii/5848 and here t.me/strelkovii/5849).
