  1. Just me and my 14yo son. Decided to make some chicken strips.
  2. It wouldn’t suck in fried mac and cheese either
  3. Taking advantage of Mrs. Brownwater’s long weekend out of town to enjoy some judgment free dinners. Three nights in a row of steak and creamed spinach. And I’m thinking bacon may be a permanent add to the spinach recipe.
  4. And this is clear to anyone that isn’t willfully ignorant. Unfortunately the problem isn’t fixing their ignorance it’s changing their will. Good luck with that.
  5. Full sink but we have 2 smaller trash bins in the kitchen. That’s the way to go. Two in the stink and one in the sink.
  6. As in he predates medicine?
  7. Total Wine (Humble location) has a KCSB 11 year (barrel March 18 and bottle April 19). $48. Assume it’s available in other locations as well.
  8. Sounds like Melanie and Ivanka have him shut down.
  9. Yes. Great reviews - Whisky Advocate’s pick of the year. I found a couple bottles and don’t know I’d go that far but for what it is and at the price point... http://whiskyadvocate.com/top20/ http://whiskyadvocate.com/ratings-reviews/?search=&submit=&brand_id=54&rating=0&price=0&category=0&styles_id=0&issue_id=0
  10. By that standard either Weller 12 or antique
  11. No. He makes it abundantly clear that white is white and black is not white.
  12. Blanco = premium in this brand’s demographic
  13. Any vacancies on the Blue Bell board? He’d slide in pretty nicely there.
  14. But can we agree those who don’t pay their share cost those who do more? Similar with credit card defaults or shoplifting, the losses are pushed into other fees or prices and passed along to paying customers. Strange that someone who cheats on their taxes or doesn’t repay their obligations would likely condemn a shoplifter that makes their grocery bill go up to cover the store’s shrinkage loss. And by strange I mean totally expected. In my mind just another example of a selfish culture that gives little consideration to the greater good. That mentality is further enabled by an inclination to seek justification in a sense of victimhood or other perceived unfairness. The credit card workout commercials bother me more than the tax ones. Are you a victim of unfair predatory lending that enabled you to spend money that you didn’t have and couldn’t repay on stuff you didn’t need? No problem that’s someone else’s fault. In fact it’s the honorable thing to do to teach them a lesson by not paying and making them incur those losses pass those losses on to their customers that honor their obligations. All of this is really just finding an excuse to justify acting purely is self interest. I don’t blame trump for this but this mentality (and it’s non-financial corollaries) contributed significantly to putting him in office.
  15. If they raise a material amount off that hat, the trumpkins are even dumber than I thought. The question becomes whether the grifters can exercise enough restraint for these idiots to keep enough gas money to get to rallies and voting sites.
  16. Gives new meaning to orange slices
  17. Venturing out from the steak thread (but not too far...) Sous vide tomahawk pork chop
  18. But they still wouldn’t find you funny.
  19. @Landomatic adjusting my garlic bread strategy....
  20. Do they have the four in hand recipe in the book? May be cocktail I’ve ever had.
  21. Last night I got the text that I was one of the high bidders for GTS at a local shop. I’d offered $305. When I get there today some confusion ensued as they thought they’d already delivered my bottle because someone with the same first name came to claim it today. Anyway, after a brief but somewhat tense conversation they figure out the issue. Fortunately they had an extra bottle that they let go for about retail ($140) since I took the Kentucky Owl off their hands too (also for about retail $280). Both are for consumption but feels like quite a deal considering the secondary prices for each. Merry Christmas...
  22. That’s an open face steak sandwich in our house
