  1. Fellow Kingwood LAX parent here but was smart enough not to partake in the Aggyland Classic. Mrs. Brown Water and another team mom took the girls up. Mrs. Brown Water texted virtually identical pics to @Macanudo . Unless they decorate most of the hotel the same way, I'm afraid Mac may have been in Mrs. Brown Water's room or vice versa. Probably not and either way I avoided 2 days in College Station. That's a win in my book.
  2. All due respect to the Lulz thread and thanks to @SurlyBDR for his knife porn contribution to the steak thread. It got me thinking, I may not be on only one here that appreciates some quality kitchen gear. Chefs knives and slicers. Top is a 12" slicer. Damn near a machete and makes a showing whenever new boyfriend shows up with my daughter (no pics). The bottom one is from Christmas 2015 in Heidelberg, Germany. I could buy it here too which takes some of the sentimental value away. Almost enough for me to rationalize picking up something like a custom one from Serenity in Houston. Steak knives. For some reason I'm particular about this. Steaks are better with substantial knives. And blades should be serrated or minimally serrated. I hate feeling like the knife is tearing the meat apart. A few other odds and ends in the regular rotation. Olive oil bottle is from a custom glass artist outside Calgary. Grapeseed oil is a 375ml High West whiskey bottle. Salt cellar is mesquite and my son found it when we were at a farmers market a few years ago. If you've got some go to gear that makes cooking and eating a bit better, post it here. Mrs. Brown Water says I'm crazy and no one thinks like this. She's probably right. I'll hang up and listen.
  3. Great news. Dow broke 25,000 again today. With a minor positive move it could hit it a second time.
  4. Really - Foxconn. It's a mashup of his two favorite things. I'd probably let my guard down if a company named Whiskeytitties wanted to do some business.
  5. Amazing this administration can simultaneously know the cost of illegal immigration down to the dollar and not know the number of illegal immigrants - with a margin for error likely in the millions.
  6. Even my dog has figured out the pretending to throw a stick game. My dog is smarter than 30% of voters.
  7. Why does the right wing deny rhe existence of spell check?
  8. It seems like being a pathological liar is a prerequisite for associating with trump. I doubt he told anyone to lie - it's implied. The exception would be telling someone to tell the truth.
  9. That was a bit of young idealistic brown water speaking. Way back I thought if that doesn't make sense - fix it. Now it's that doesn't make sense but is it workable - that's fine. Or if it isn't workable - screw it
  10. Not complaining. I've been the beneficiary of that system. I just doesn't make sense to me. If I was a (1) profit motivated company (2) in the golden age of my product and (3) aware that not only was I allocating it to the wrong markets but that (4) a secondary market existed to get it back to my primary one, and (5) at a premium, I would probably shift things around and save a few bucks on shipping in the process.
  11. That's really cool. But I've never understood the logic of their Europe only releases given today's domestic demand. Read somewhere that STFB (select barrels) would merit a place in the Antique collection as the mashbill 2 version of GTS.
  12. Sorry. I was meaning more in principle than this example. That wasn't clear from my post and I understand the optics and attention on this particular matter are very different than normal circumstances. I meant this more in the Mrs. Brown Water asks how many bourbons I had last night and I say none but that it isn't an issue if I did. Come to think of it, in my personal experience, that is in fact a losing argument. I retract my original question.
  13. The real irony is the Catholic's pace to punish abuse by children rather than abuse of children. I understand these may not be considered children and the church isnt a monolithic entity but the history makes for odd optics
  14. I'm no fan of trump or guiliani but I don't follow the concern about these arguments. Why wouldn't someone present both positions - that an event didn't occur and that such event, had it occurred, wouldn't constitute a crime.
  15. I distinguish having a degree and being educated. Aggy doesn't cross the higher threshold.
