  1. In my friend group, everyone over 30 listens to the Ticket, and everyone under 30 listens to The Fan. Hell when I was in college, I listens to ESPN cuz what did I know? I feel like the people with the taste to listen to the Ticket are also more likely to listen to podcasts than the kind of simpletons who listen to The Fan. The numbers don't surprise me.
  2. This is definitely the deepest Mavs team since 2011. If we could just reallocate Hardaway's $18 million for someone actually worth $18 million, this team could be elite.
  3. It's just weird going from 20 years of your best player being automatic at the free throw line to getting extreme anxiety every time you see your star at the stripe in clutch situations. Bench looks really good and deep. Carlisle won't know for a while who the starters should be, but I'm glad we have so many decent options.
  4. I feel like Georgia losing kind of kills that. The SEC East winner is going to have 2 losses if they lose in the championship game.
  5. BJ Foster has been hurt since the first quarter and has refused to get in on any tackle yet we still play him. I get he's in pain but that's embarrassing. He pulls up every time.
  6. That's the dude who couldn't see the field because of Kobe Boyce?
  7. It already is. This just brings to light what is already happening. Players are getting paid by boosters.
  8. I don't understand this. College sports are already a place where the elite athletes only go to a handful of schools. If anything, this new system would give other schools a chance to compete, albeit temporarily. I thought Russilo did a good job on his podcast laying out how schools would probably go nuts for a few years and then realize it's a waste of money with little return on investment. Especially with the transfer portal.
  9. They had two real NFL players and now they don't. They look talentless.
  10. And also joked about A&M having future recruiting success because "let's just say they have a lot of resources (laughs)." Aggie recruiting cheating has gone national.
  11. I've seen all state guys end up at Arkansas Tech. Finishing all district doesn't mean a guy has a decent chance of going smaller D1. 247 is probably your best bet. They track pretty much anyone close to getting a D1 offer. If someone isn't on there by their senior year, they likely aren't going D1.
  12. http://www.hudl.com/v/2BqMLa Low 3 star guy from FW committed to Missouri. First four game highlight looks like a full senior season highlight reel. Reminds me a bit of Chris Warren but with a better juke move.
  13. I sort of doubt that Demas and Jones are asking to be a part of the UT class. Not sure who else was at camps, but those two seem pretty locked in.
  14. Ringo is probably the first recruit since Jamaal Charles that Texas could honestly say, "you might be the difference between us winning a national championship or not your freshman year," to with a straight face. I don't think anyone from the 2008 or 2009 classes fit that description. Maybe Alex Okafor. Edit: dammit. Robinson too actually
  15. I want to say my biggest complaint with Orlando from last night was his inability to adjust to Sanders running. It was like he'd never seen that before. They would pull a lineman to lead block for Sanders and it was 10 yards every time. On the other hand, his priorities were stopping Hubbard and Wallace, so you have to give up something. Overall, good game plan. Not confident about our ability to stop Hurts in a few weeks though.
  16. Keep in mind Jake Smith slid to catch a punt previously this year. The fact that two different guys made the same stupid move weeks apart probably means they've done drills doing that. It's absurd.
  17. Sanders looks like a character from Narnia. Not a good look.
  18. One timeout with time for 2 plays a field goal. Passing was the right call.
  19. I'm not sure that Cumbie is a good QB developer. Their QB room has been a mess since Boykin left, and a run-heavy team is the one kind of team that Texas might be able to slow down.
  20. Obviously there aren't too many positives to take away from an ass whooping like that. However, LSU's inability to establish the run game against a lower tier team combined with Texas' ability to shut down the run against LA Tech could be encouraging combinations. LSU averaged 3.7 yards per carry and it wasn't all from when they put backups in and took the foot of the pedal. There were plenty of times in the first half they got stuffed or hit in the backfield. On the other hand... the passing game looked really good and I expect Burrow to be able to pick on Boyce/Cook/Jamison.
