  1. I will say that LSU's defense is loaded (10 of the 11 projected starters are former top 100 composite recruits) and has the potential to be truly great. Can't really imagine a bigger early season test for the offense.
  2. The highlighted parts are the thing that bothers me most about the LSU fans posting on here. Chaisson career games played: 12 Chaisson career TFL and sacks: 5.5 and 3 BJ Foster career games played: 12 BJ Foster career TFL and sacks: 9 and 2.5 BJ Foster doesn't count as a returning starter and that is apparently an issue for Texas. K'Lavon Chaisson however, is the strength of LSU's defense, a future first round pick, and the best edge rusher in college football. So according to the LSU fans, returning experience matters when it matters, and it doesn't matter when it doesn't matter. Elite recruits lacking experience are going to improve LSU's defense, but they're going to hold back Texas's defense.
  3. If Texas lands Johnston, Jordan, Eaton, Collins, LVB and Josh White, the composite score (287.17) would be pretty close to last year's (287.69).
  4. I enjoyed the part of the broadcast where they thought they were on a commercial break but were actually still on air, and the dude complained about a text he got of someone saying he sucked on the broadcast.
  5. I get all of that but Delton has 5 career TD passes and he's leading the pack. It's not ideal.
  6. I don't know who's going to win the game. It's part of why I don't spend my time posting on LSU message boards and shitting on their team. I think the talent is close and I expect a good game. As does pretty much everyone here. You didn't come here to make that point though, as evidenced by the K State post. Piss off.
  7. 3.3 ypc for Tua was. Tua ran for 16.3 ypc and a TD against LSU last year. You probably weren't watching because you were recovering from binge drinking after A&M's loss to Auburn.
  8. Feleipe Franks 7.0 ypc. Fitzgerald 5.7 ypc (153 yards) Tua 16.3 ypc Mond was the one guy you mentioned who actually didn't have a great running game against LSU. You're making up numbers. And it's once again becoming apparent you're an A&M fan pretending to be an LSU fan.
  9. Two things stand out in Pouncey's highlights 1. His legs are so skinny you can barely see them on the film. 2. Winter Park High School has one of the most annoying fans/parents I've ever heard.
  10. Conner, Broughton, Princely, Alford, Eaton is a pretty nice way to ruin their summer.
  11. If they're going to wear throwbacks, why not actually where the helmet that matches the pants? I hate Notre Dame's gaudy, overly shiny helmet they started wearing a few years ago.
  12. Is that a 247 thing? I feel like Rivals used to have a lot of 2 stars. I remember Blake Gideon being a 2 star.
  13. The thing that shocks me about this is how many 3 stars UNT has there? How could that many 3 stars settle on UNT that early in the process?
  14. And if that doesn't work he'll send men to kill your pets and fuck your wives and it will never be over so that's the message. Good well let's move ahead with that process shall we? Fucking loved that response.
  15. I'm not entirely sure how Texas' record from 2007 impacted how Lamar Houston, Sergio Kindle, Aaron Williams, and Keenan Robinson played in 2009. Considering none of them played then. It's a dumb argument. And Earl was a sophomore. Aaron Williams was a sophomore. Keenan Robinson was a sophomore. Emmanuel Acho was a sophomore. You're arguing like someone who looks at returning starters, knows nothing about the actual players, but expresses your take as exact science. Klavon Chaisson has played in fewer career games than Sterns or Bj Foster. But I guarantee you aren't worried about him or considering him a negative to your defense. It's disengenuous rhetoric.
  16. 6 is not 8. That's true. It's also true that losing a 5th and 7th round NFL draft pick is not the same as losing a 1st, 3rd and 4th. Hell in 2018 Texas lost Malik Jefferson, Deshaun Elliott and Hilton Hill. Far superior talent to what we lose in 2019. And Texas was able to replace them and win 3 more games. Teams replace talent. Teams with elite recruits replace talent more easily than those without them. I think you know this but you've chosen to make this ridiculous argument anyway.
  17. After 2008, Texas lost 6 starters on defense. Brian Orakpo (1st round pick), Roy Miller (3rd round pick), Henry Melton (4th round pick), Rashard Bobino, Ryan Palmer (3 INT's) and Jared Norton (injury). Yet the 2009 team held opponents to nearly 100 fewer yards per game. Texas went on to an undefeated regular season and a spot in the championship game for two reasons: They brought back an amazing college QB and the "inexperienced" underclassmen on defense actually better than the guys who left. Texas fans are confident for those same two reasons: For the first time since 2009 they have one of the best QBs in the nation returning and the "inexperienced" underclassmen are at that 2009 level of talent. I have no doubt you expect your 2019 running back position to be better than 2018 even though you lost your best running back. It's college football. Don't be so obtuse. This is how it works.
  18. Touchdown! Just like last year.
  19. None of their running backs who received significant snaps averaged 5 yards a carry. Keontay Ingram had more yards and a better ypc than any returning LSU RB. Their best returning receiver would have been 3rd on Texas' roster last year. He had two 100 yard games. Everyone else on the roster would have been 4th or worse in receptions and yards for Texas. Ehlinger had more completions, yards, touchdowns, rushing yards, higher completion percentage, and better interception percentage than Joe Burrow. Now I see that article explaining how the reason LSU finally changed their scheme was due to their offensive line's inability to protect the QB. I keep hearing that LSU has a talent advantage at every position. Clearly they don't have anything close to Texas' returning offensive production. Then one considers that Texas has the advantage of entering the third season with the same quarterback running the same system, assisted by coaches who have more than a decade of experience running that specific system. LSU on the other hand is entering its first season running a system implemented by a coordinator and a receivers coach with zero years experience running that specific system. That's not even mentioning that the inexperienced defense they will be facing will be more familiar with the spread concept LSU is running than the very LSU players attempting to execute it.
  20. Well yeah. And by that logic we have like 17 months to figure this out. But sometimes (read: pretty much always) message boards are speculative and time wasting and people make guesses about the future.
  21. Fall camp has me thinking about how the 2020 Texas team has potential to be a national championship team if the Ehlinger and Cosmi return. That has me thinking about this class through the lens of which guys could contribute to a championship team as freshman. In 2005, Texas got a lot of help from Charles (878 yards, 11 TDs) and Melton (10 TDs) and that was basically it. Obviously Bijan is the most likely to contribute. Running backs can play early, championship teams typically have a stable of elite backs, and he's our highest rated recruit. So duh. But similar to 2005, I don't think any of the 2020 defensive recruits have a real chance at playing meaningful snaps that first year. Probably a good sign and something that separates the potential of the 2020 roster from the past decade of relying on youth at defense. Other than Bijan, who from this class could contribute (sans special teams) if our 2020 roster is as good as we hope? I feel like the answer is any halfway decent linebacker... and that's what kind of kills me about Orlando and this class. If we had one linebacker anywhere in the realm of our class average, I feel like they'd instantly be the 2nd most likely candidate to play as a freshman.
  22. Also it's very realistic we don't land any of Jackson, Tunmise, Sanders or Burris next year. I don't think anyone would say we lead for any of those four right now. So why not take four this class?
  23. If you're a 5A or 6A head football coach, you aren't teaching classes. Unless you're just in a really broke district. If you're in a district with multiple high schools you'll probably be the "athletic coordinator" at your school which is just a middle man between coaches and ADs. You basically go to other sports games and gather some decisions. I actually know girls basketball coaches that don't have to teach classes. Some competitive football schools don't even have OC/DCs teach classes
