  1. Apparently he might play qb for Everman this year. He's played it a little bit the past two years but I think they need him their full time now because they need the ball in his hands. Also I'm pretty sure he goes by "Duke" and not Juan.
  2. Watched this kid live a couple times the past two years. Their passing game just consists of throwing jump balls up to him and letting him out-man dudes, even when he was a freshman. Feel like he's pretty raw because they don't do anything sophisticated, but he has ball skills.
  3. I think our defense will be more comfortable with their scheme than LSU's offense will be with theirs.
  4. No one is doubting that. We're discussion going from 250-320 and we're discussing Orlando's claims that Texas can put on 30 lbs in two months.
  5. A lot of high schools lift programs are superset, full body workouts. They'll target five different muscle groups rapidly in a 30-45 minute period. It's good for conditioning but I don't think it's good for building muscle. So most guys are "beginners" when they get to college. A beginner can expect to grow muscle more rapidly than the average person. Having said all that, human beings cannot add more than a few pounds of muscle per month. 3 lbs of muscle in one month would be a lot. Which leaves several options. 1. Guys like Sweat weren't measured accurately before showing up on campus. 2. Guys are adding a lot of fat and water weight in addition to the muscle gains. 3. Guys are using performance enhancing drugs (even then it wouldn't account for 30 lbs in two months) All of those could be true, but #2 has to be true. When you see that guys put on that much weight, most of it is not muscle.
  6. So most likely "best 11" as Orlando says... DL - Roach, Coburn, Graham LB - McCulloch, Ossai DB - Green, Foster, Jones, Sterns, Thompson, Cook With the potential for Overshown and Jamison to move in to that top 11 depending on how Thompson looks. The tackling ability of Jones and Foster helps you to be less worried about what a running team could do against 6 dbs used even more than last year.
  7. I can't see a dude who plans on being in college for 3 years worrying too much about the class that likely won't play until he's gone.
  8. I went on my first cruise. Royal Caribbean. There was an 18+ game night with a lot of nudity. I figured Surly would universally appreciate that, so maybe that isn't typical.
  9. The amount of random Card hate on this board was surprising. I like Jackson a lot for Herm's scheme, but I think Card has a better chance to throw 30+ TDs in a season than any guy Texas has had in a decade.
  10. I don't subscribe to any of these sites but the dumbest thing in sports now is fans not understanding how their own demand for instant news is more at fault than the people supplying it. The Kawhi thing was another example of how things change but fans just enjoy saying I told you so to anyone who reported information before the change. If a 9.95er wasn't optimistic about Robinson a month ago then they weren't dialed in. It's childish for fans to blame the reporters for reality itself.
  11. No one ever apologizes to the victim in these public apologies.
  12. I've always enjoyed Simmons' takes on the NBA, especially big picture stuff.
  13. Well, if you're not going to land anyone you want, better to hold on to the money I guess than be like New York and pay role players like borderline all stars. Keep some cap flexibility and try to make things happen in a trade once again.
  14. No. Mainly players (Oladipo and Sabonis) cuz he only had a year left.
  15. Better summer: Mavs free agency or Texas 2020 recruiting?
  16. Woj says no one wants Cousins, even at the MLE. Guy just put up 16 and 8 in reduced minutes. Are people just worried about the 2nd injury and his durability?
  17. You mean you'll put down your rock and I'll put down my sword and we'll try and kill each other like civilized people?
  18. Guess they like Jones a whole lot. And so does Miami.
  19. https://clutchpoints.com/mavs-news-report-dallas-expecting-to-get-meeting-with-kawhi-leonard/
  20. I remember hearing that we are among the list of teams getting a meeting with Kawhi and it seems like that Longshot is making the Mavs think they should hold off on any moves. Which sounds a lot like Deron Williams and Dwight Howard all over again. With even less promise.
  21. Running power literally means a guy pulls and finds a defender.
  22. Ironically? Young people watch the shit out of that show.
