  1. I can see it with movies because of the effect home streaming has on film production. But a lot of these franchise movies are doing horribly (xmen, MIB, etc) so there's Hope for more original material. Pop music was really, really bad in the late 90s and early 00s and one could argue it's better now. TV is without question better and more original than it was 20 years ago. There's just no mono-culture because of all the options and people not watcing things at the same time. And there will always be more great new books than anyone can ever read. Of all the things to worry about right now, this isn't it.
  2. Good: Gus Johnson, Joel Klatt, Todd Blackledge, Brad Nessler, Bad: Gary Danielson, Herbstreit. I don't remember his name but the old guy who the big head who worked games with Brady Quinn was awful.
  3. McCulloch and Green probably had the two most impressive spring games, which is nice because those are probably the two people we need to be ready the most.
  4. North Shore's 2020 class has guys committed to Alabama, Utah State, Kansas State, Arkansas, and Miami. No in state commitments that I can see. Evans has no Texas schools in his top 5, and shits on UT on his way out. The coaches are probably realizing their lose all ability to bitch about in state coaches if they completely cut ties with every institution. Thus, they drag Evans to Austin and make him say his apologies. The good news is that it will be nice to have a rooting interest in this whole Duncanville-North Shore rematch that will likely happen this year.
  5. I guess the fact that he wanted Giannis is good for his case. But he's awful in the draft. His ability to work trades throughout Dirks career was impressive though. Got Jamison for nothing. Then used him to get Harris. Got Terry for Antoine Walker. Got Kidd when a lot of people thought that was a bad deal. He got Caron Butler, Haywood and Stevenson for freaking Josh Howard and Gooden. He built that championship team with excellent trades. Hopefully he did the same this past winter.
  6. Bolton is a character from a movie. He's so pro war it doesn't even seem realistic.
  7. Shitty 2017 draft? I like a lot of those guys.
  8. I guess I understand if they don't want him. What I don't understand is if they wanted him (as reported) yet Indiana got him AND a 1st round pick. Just confuses me. Either way, Phoenix is stupid.
  9. Why the hell did we not do the trade Indiana did for Warren? Phoenix gave him away. Shit I would have given up our 2nd for him.
  10. This take didn't age well.
  11. Elite shooter. Lacks defense. About $11 million per year. 18 ppg last year. 19 the year before.
  12. That news doesn't intrigue me at all. I've become quite content with Bijan. I specifically like that part about him where he's a five star who doesn't say shitty things about Texas football.
  13. Saw that the Mavs are interested in TJ Warren. Wonder what it would take. Brunson? Is Phoenix just trying to dump salary?
  14. Garth? I don't know shit about evaluating linemen, but 6-5, 287, 5th ranked tackle in the nation by 247. Seems like a tackle.
  15. I keep coming back to an interview Lindberg had way back where he basically laid all of this out. Before his Stanford visit. Said that Texas was his leader. Said Texas A&M's O-line coach last year was awful. Said even if he liked the Stanford visit, Texas would still probably lead. And said he wanted to go on all his visits. The kid isn't doing anything I wouldn't do. Be honest and straightforward, enjoy your visits, then announce before you senior season. I won't be that excited if he chooses Texas or that excited if he doesn't, but he seems like a good prospect and normal recruit. Also, I'm okay taking an interior-line heavy class this year since last year was essentially 4 tackles and no interior guys.
  16. The main reason I'm not as worried as some about the defense is because recruiting talent is a much better predictor of success than returning starters. Every single starting defensive back this coming season was ranked in the top 100. Jones (40), Sterns (19), Foster (24), Cook (64), Green (47). Even backups: Overshown (52). The 2005 Texas team relied heavily on young players that hadn't contributed much or at all before that season: Charles, Ramonce, Sweed, Pittman, Kelson, Orakpo, Wright. More so on offense than defense but still. If you were going off returning production, Texas basically had nothing returning from the skills positions. It wasn't a weakness because the talent was elite. Same thing for Clemson last year. 5 of their 6 most productive offensive players were underclassmen. People are hesitant to be confident because of how recruits turned out under Mack and Strong, but this level of recruiting is different. For every Hill or Elliott, Strong had a Jason Hall or Dylan Haines bringing the defense down. This defense does not have the same kind of holes in talent. Even the positions people are worried about (LB, DT, DE) are places where the talent level is elite. I think it's the most talented defense in the conference and one of the five most talented in the nation. You can survive and even thrive with youth when that's the case. Also, I think we're all pretty confident in the offense and the defense looked like the better side of the ball in the spring game. Not that it matters much, but they looked impressive.
  17. This is twice in two days that a chick has OD'd on me Well do you think maybe you should get some new coke?
  18. The first pool party scene is pretty incredible. -Dirk meeting Reed and competing over lifting weights and diving board moves -Buck and Becky arguing about the cowboy look -Maurice trying to get in a porno -Little Bill getting shit from Kurt while his wife is getting "an ass in her cock" -The OD girl
  19. If the trade doesn't go through until July 6, then how is New Orleans shop the 4th pick in the draft like they allegedly are doing? The Lakers will pick for the Pelicans who are picking for someone else? Does the draft pick have to wear a Lakers hat and pretend he's going there?
  20. Lol 3 straight years of pick swaps. Lakers were so desperate because they knew no free agents wanted to go there. Now, not only do they need to be contenders next year. They need to continue contending as Lebron declines. I would bet the Pelicans are better than the Lakers in '23-25.
  21. Was watching the end of the 6A title game and noticed two things: 1. Damien George was awful 2. Zachary Evans didn't celebrate with teammates after the hail Mary catch. Just walked away
  22. Tylan Wallace is one of the best receivers in the country. But overall OSU just out-schemed Orlando that night. They got to the edge at will.
  23. He was in a lot of Matthew Vaughn movies. I always root for Band of Brothers guys whenever I see them.
