  1. That news doesn't intrigue me at all. I've become quite content with Bijan. I specifically like that part about him where he's a five star who doesn't say shitty things about Texas football.
  2. Saw that the Mavs are interested in TJ Warren. Wonder what it would take. Brunson? Is Phoenix just trying to dump salary?
  3. Garth? I don't know shit about evaluating linemen, but 6-5, 287, 5th ranked tackle in the nation by 247. Seems like a tackle.
  4. I keep coming back to an interview Lindberg had way back where he basically laid all of this out. Before his Stanford visit. Said that Texas was his leader. Said Texas A&M's O-line coach last year was awful. Said even if he liked the Stanford visit, Texas would still probably lead. And said he wanted to go on all his visits. The kid isn't doing anything I wouldn't do. Be honest and straightforward, enjoy your visits, then announce before you senior season. I won't be that excited if he chooses Texas or that excited if he doesn't, but he seems like a good prospect and normal recruit. Also, I'm okay taking an interior-line heavy class this year since last year was essentially 4 tackles and no interior guys.
  5. The main reason I'm not as worried as some about the defense is because recruiting talent is a much better predictor of success than returning starters. Every single starting defensive back this coming season was ranked in the top 100. Jones (40), Sterns (19), Foster (24), Cook (64), Green (47). Even backups: Overshown (52). The 2005 Texas team relied heavily on young players that hadn't contributed much or at all before that season: Charles, Ramonce, Sweed, Pittman, Kelson, Orakpo, Wright. More so on offense than defense but still. If you were going off returning production, Texas basically had nothing returning from the skills positions. It wasn't a weakness because the talent was elite. Same thing for Clemson last year. 5 of their 6 most productive offensive players were underclassmen. People are hesitant to be confident because of how recruits turned out under Mack and Strong, but this level of recruiting is different. For every Hill or Elliott, Strong had a Jason Hall or Dylan Haines bringing the defense down. This defense does not have the same kind of holes in talent. Even the positions people are worried about (LB, DT, DE) are places where the talent level is elite. I think it's the most talented defense in the conference and one of the five most talented in the nation. You can survive and even thrive with youth when that's the case. Also, I think we're all pretty confident in the offense and the defense looked like the better side of the ball in the spring game. Not that it matters much, but they looked impressive.
  6. This is twice in two days that a chick has OD'd on me Well do you think maybe you should get some new coke?
  7. The first pool party scene is pretty incredible. -Dirk meeting Reed and competing over lifting weights and diving board moves -Buck and Becky arguing about the cowboy look -Maurice trying to get in a porno -Little Bill getting shit from Kurt while his wife is getting "an ass in her cock" -The OD girl
  8. If the trade doesn't go through until July 6, then how is New Orleans shop the 4th pick in the draft like they allegedly are doing? The Lakers will pick for the Pelicans who are picking for someone else? Does the draft pick have to wear a Lakers hat and pretend he's going there?
  9. Lol 3 straight years of pick swaps. Lakers were so desperate because they knew no free agents wanted to go there. Now, not only do they need to be contenders next year. They need to continue contending as Lebron declines. I would bet the Pelicans are better than the Lakers in '23-25.
  10. Was watching the end of the 6A title game and noticed two things: 1. Damien George was awful 2. Zachary Evans didn't celebrate with teammates after the hail Mary catch. Just walked away
  11. Tylan Wallace is one of the best receivers in the country. But overall OSU just out-schemed Orlando that night. They got to the edge at will.
  12. He was in a lot of Matthew Vaughn movies. I always root for Band of Brothers guys whenever I see them.
  13. Seems weird to complain about a dude's hands when he was so reliable on 3rd down this past season. He may have dropped some deep shots but he was a big help moving the chains.
  14. Those are awesome. Love every bit of it. If I was a Bears fan, I'd grab one.
  15. Don't want to start a 2023 thread but I saw Shawn Robinson's little brother and he's already 6'3, going into 9th grade, and can sling it.
  16. I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates when he said, "I drank what?"
  17. Rivals doesn't have Jackson top 15 in the state?
  18. The nice thing about a Card/Jackson combo is both seem like they could Excel at another position. As much as I prefer Jackson for Herman's offense, there's something Leach said about accuracy basically being something you can't teach and he never understood taking guys whose one weakness was accuracy. I think Card could be elite with accuracy. I don't know Jackson's passing ability well to say either way.
  19. As of last year, 33 million people have cancelled cable and not re-subscribed. 6 in 10 people aged 18-29 only watch streaming services. https://variety.com/2018/digital/news/cord-cutting-2018-estimates-33-million-us-study-1202881488/ It gets worse. People younger than that hardly watch any live TV viewing at all. Not even with Hulu Live or YouTubeTV. They almost exclusively watch YouTubers or Netflix original content or old shows on Netflix. Attributing ESPN's decline to politics is like attributing the cause of the Great Depression to Babe Ruth's dieting habits. And no matter how may times this gets pointed out, people are going to respond with, "Yeah but ESPN let all that happen by ruining how great it used to be!"
  20. To all the nostalgic people who blame ESPN for losing their soul, do you really believe the 90s model works in an era where people can check scores and get highlights immediately? I would watch SC highlights not knowing who won the game back then. I had to watch in the morning before school to find out if my team won the night before. Hell, I would wait around for ESPNEWS to get to my teams' highlights and get pissed if they didn't get enough attention. They had a monopoly. This isn't complicated. The only product they offer in high demand and low supply are their live rights. A Twitter account, a few podcast subscriptions, and YouTube videos cover the rest.
  21. I never believed people on here when they said they never watched ESPN because of the politics, and I won't believe anyone who claims they started watching again now that it's less political. ESPN is having a natural downfall due to people just having other places to go. People will tune in to live sports and that's why ESPN spends so much on rights. But Barstool, Bleacher Report, The Ringer, House of Highlights, and their ilk as well as general chord cutting had more to do with declining ratings than politics.
  22. -Cersei's character would have murdered Tyrion there. She's been trying to murder him for 5 seasons now. She has no reason not to have the soldiers shoot him. She's already killed Missandei and ended negotations. -Cersei has no reason not to attack Dany's small party of 50 soldiers right then and there and (in her mind) end the war and save her throne. -Jon wouldn't ignore Ghost for 3 seasons and then fail to say goodbye. -Jamie's character arc makes no sense, regardless what he's attempting to do in King's Landing. -Dragons are worthless. I hate this show, and now view everything after about season 5 to be absolute garbage.
  23. Russilo's pod yesterday was talking about how bad year early mocks are. Drew Lock, Cardale Jones, Christian Hackenberg, Jarrett Stidham were all top 10 picks according to year early mocks. Let's not even mention Jevan Snead.
