  1. As of last year, 33 million people have cancelled cable and not re-subscribed. 6 in 10 people aged 18-29 only watch streaming services. https://variety.com/2018/digital/news/cord-cutting-2018-estimates-33-million-us-study-1202881488/ It gets worse. People younger than that hardly watch any live TV viewing at all. Not even with Hulu Live or YouTubeTV. They almost exclusively watch YouTubers or Netflix original content or old shows on Netflix. Attributing ESPN's decline to politics is like attributing the cause of the Great Depression to Babe Ruth's dieting habits. And no matter how may times this gets pointed out, people are going to respond with, "Yeah but ESPN let all that happen by ruining how great it used to be!"
  2. To all the nostalgic people who blame ESPN for losing their soul, do you really believe the 90s model works in an era where people can check scores and get highlights immediately? I would watch SC highlights not knowing who won the game back then. I had to watch in the morning before school to find out if my team won the night before. Hell, I would wait around for ESPNEWS to get to my teams' highlights and get pissed if they didn't get enough attention. They had a monopoly. This isn't complicated. The only product they offer in high demand and low supply are their live rights. A Twitter account, a few podcast subscriptions, and YouTube videos cover the rest.
  3. I never believed people on here when they said they never watched ESPN because of the politics, and I won't believe anyone who claims they started watching again now that it's less political. ESPN is having a natural downfall due to people just having other places to go. People will tune in to live sports and that's why ESPN spends so much on rights. But Barstool, Bleacher Report, The Ringer, House of Highlights, and their ilk as well as general chord cutting had more to do with declining ratings than politics.
  4. -Cersei's character would have murdered Tyrion there. She's been trying to murder him for 5 seasons now. She has no reason not to have the soldiers shoot him. She's already killed Missandei and ended negotations. -Cersei has no reason not to attack Dany's small party of 50 soldiers right then and there and (in her mind) end the war and save her throne. -Jon wouldn't ignore Ghost for 3 seasons and then fail to say goodbye. -Jamie's character arc makes no sense, regardless what he's attempting to do in King's Landing. -Dragons are worthless. I hate this show, and now view everything after about season 5 to be absolute garbage.
  5. Russilo's pod yesterday was talking about how bad year early mocks are. Drew Lock, Cardale Jones, Christian Hackenberg, Jarrett Stidham were all top 10 picks according to year early mocks. Let's not even mention Jevan Snead.
  6. That was incredible. Really hope Amazon/Netflix release episodes periodically like this so this isn't the last time in human history that everyone watches a big show at the same time like this. This worked out kind of well for GRRM cuz people are going to have so many questions about the stuff the show doesn't address or ignores that people are going to want to read them... if he ever writes them. Also I highly doubt Arya kills the NK in the book version.
  7. So in the next Spiderman movie, did all the kids come back from being Thanos dust or are some of them going to be awkward friends 5 years older still showing up to parties and offering to buy beer?
  8. I think I remember Hill and Boyd driving somewhere to make their college announcements together. Kinda cool they get to play together.
  9. I don't think they had much to work with. Jets have never had good uniforms.
  10. Aledo got a 2022 kid from FW Southwest named Bryan (BJ) Allen. Already has offers from Baylor and Houston. We'll probably he talking about him in this thread eventually. Ran a sub 11 100m in middle school. The rich get richer.
  11. When was rampant cheating not an issue? Also, Miami will be more fun to watch this year. Why does that make the sport less enjoyable? It could eventually go haywire, but at the current moment, what school is left miserable due to these transfers? Georgia didn't play Fields. Martell wasn't going to start at Ohio State. Hurts would never start for Bama again. USC losing Bru hurts them, but most of their fanbase is to the point where they understand his decision because they're ready for a new coach. It just seems like a victim-less crime... except it's not a crime.
  12. Casserly just said the Cowboys threw the ball to Dez too much this year and should have got Beasley more involved. It's fair to not listen to anything he says.

Dammit. Ehlinger ruined his own thread.
  14. Casserly is a moron who made up a story and got called out on it.
  15. I am 100% committed to being neutral about whether or not I will decommit.
  16. The only silver lining here is that this draft is about 4 or 5 deep. It would still sting though. I bet we trade the pick anyway unless it's 1st overall.
  17. It was a play on your Tre Watson thing, but I guess I failed. Anyway, they kinda look alike.
  18. Not all white people look alike bro.
  19. Can Brockermeyer just skip a grade and reclassify? I don't feel like waiting.
  20. Sometimes I have a tendency to just assume some of the stuff said about recruits on here is gospel, but the more I think about it, the happier I am with Card as the qb in this class. In fact, if I had to bet who would have more college success, I'd take Card over Roschon Johnson. His junior highlights are littered with perfect and difficult throws. Rolling to his left at full speed and threading it over a linebackers head to a receiver on the sideline. 15 yard out to the far side of the field. Corner route thrown perfectly in the basket. And deep ball after accurate deep ball. While I understand Garrett Wilson made Card look good, I found myself thinking Card made Wilson look good; particularly on the fade routes. It goes both ways. As great as Ehlinger's rushing TD's were this year, maybe bigger reason we finally had success for the first time in almost a decade was having a qb would could convert 3rd and mediums in the middle of the field or on slants.
  21. I don't know about specific positions, but having four guys (Cosmi, Braun, Shackelford, Kerstetter) with significant starting experience is a nice luxury given what we lost. Add in Okafor, Angilau, Ghirmai, Jones, Moore and Johnson, and we should have some nice competition.
  22. Right. Part of why I'm saying he can change directions quickly.
  23. Not that there are many (any?) situations where a QB will need to jump three feet in the air, but that's pretty impressive. Also, I kind of assume a lot of the people here who don't think he's a QB1 take based it off the fact that he was a shorter QB when we took him. A super accurate, tall QB who can change directions quickly is a nice QB prospect.
  24. If true, I have no idea why people are saying he's slow.
