  1. Kinda hard when 80% of the kicks go out of the back of the endzone. I bet there are a lot of teams that don't have a kickoff return TD the past few years.
  2. Smith actually predicted us to be a contender before the season so hes probably enjoying looking smart.
  3. At first I thought this was a weird game to get the ABC prime slot. But looking at the schedule, there aren't really any big games. Penn State/Iowa or Clemson/FSU are about the only ones they could have gone with.
  4. Curtis Brown pick six game right? Or was it Earl who got that? I think I remember both getting interceptions.
  5. Trying to figure out what would be worse: The Big 12 losing a chance at the playoffs because the only team with a shot loses the CCG or the CCG featuring two teams with multiple losses and no chance at the playoffs. This conference doesn't make much sense to me, but it's starting to feel like a lot of upsets will happen just based on match ups.
  6. Bama, Clemson, Ohio State, LSU, Notre Dame, Michigan, Georgia, Texas, UCF, Oklahoma. My guess.
  7. Head ref sounds like a robot. Who told him to talk like that?
  8. Sterns has led to a lot of points this year. FG block led to TD. Interception against TCU led to TD. Pick here led to 3 points. Feel like I'm missing some.
  9. Jamison with something other than a sweep for the win.
  10. Noticed Deshon Elliott on the sideline. Wonder if he and Herman hugged it out.
  11. The way Ehlinger's right arm is hanging down worries me. This looks like it could be a while.
  12. It's weird to be in a position where we actually have an interest in rooting for certain teams in the conference to look good, but I can't help but think TCU losing this game is bad. I just had this impression that they would win 9 games this year and be a quality win. Don't have the same confidence that Tech can fill that role. Still... nice to see Patterson lose.
  13. Ohio State lost to (I think) a 6 loss Virginia Tech team a few years ago and still made it in. I would say that's the best sign for Texas, but the committee has shown no consistent pattern of voting and seem to change their process every year. The only consistent is that Ohio State is allowed a free spot in the playoffs if they look good. Oklahoma, West Virginia and TCU will all be ranked at the end of the year. USC and Tech might be as well. Finishing 12-1 with 12 straight wins and wins over 4 or 5 ranked opponents, including an extra win against top 15 WVU or OU will be enough to get Texas a spot. It just will. I doubt we win 12 in a row though.
  14. Oklahoma was bad at... -Gap fits -Pass rush -Tackling WRs -Maintaining the edge -Following the ball in zone read I'm sure a bye week is all they'll need.
  15. Oh cool. I feel better about 2008 now.
  16. 8 team playoff really solves almost everything. Teams with frustrating early season losses still have something to play for. It's still important to schedule tough non-conference opponents to get an at large bid. No conference has to bitch and moan about being left out. On the other side, it's even more money for ESPN/Fox or whoever. Ratings for the conference championship games go up because every single one is a play-in game. Four more playoff games for ratings. Talking heads can still argue all season long about who deserves at large bids. No one loses except the SEC's hope to have half the playoffs come from their own conference.
  17. 1. Reduce the season back to 11 games. 2. Require every conference to play 9 conference games. 3. Conference Championship week is moved up one week. 4. Elite 8 of CFB takes place either the week after Conference Championship or 2 weeks after. 5. Literally everything else stays the same. 6. Profit
  18. Which is what I'm talking about. McVay is the model now. Hire an offensive genius as your Head Coach.
  19. More accurately, I think he thought going under center occasionally would make him tough again.
  20. I don't think our run scheme or personnel is that different than other Big 12 offenses. I definitely don't think power is unique to Texas' current staff. Remember how Gilbert's Oline coach called power "momma" and whatnot. We have a TE/HBack that is an elite blocker and we have a QB built to run between the tackles. I would say that's unique, but I don't think the Ohio State offense is that drastic a change for defenses. TCU and Kansas State held their own against us defensively. I just think Texas is finally at the point where we have the talent on offense (Ehlinger, Ingram, Beck, Johnson, Humphrey, oline) to finally take advantage of the fact that we have vastly superior talent on defense.
  21. Alex Barnes from KSU ran for 250 yards and 3 TDs on 22 carries yesterday against Baylor. I think this is Keontay Ingram's game to dominate.
  22. Their secondary is awful. For the first time this century it feels like, I can't name any of their linebackers after the RRS. I wasn't worried about a single dude on their defense. Oklahoma is going to be a dumpster fire after Kyler and Brown leave, and Riley decides to take an NFL job.
