  1. If it ends up Texas-Michigan in the national championship game, that would have to be one of the first times we get a national championship rematch in a non-conference game the following year.
  2. Does the committee watch the championship games together? I imagine them all rooting against Florida State tonight so they don't have to be the bad guys.
  3. I'm hoping for 1. Washington 2. Michigan 3 Texas 4. Alabama I think we match up really well with Michigan.
  4. We're trying to match the 70 points we got against Colorado in 2005 because Vince is in the house.
  5. Playoff scenarios be damned, I'm enjoying the sight of the most overrated team in football getting blown out.
  6. This is a very odd rubric to measure art and TV. I'm imaging a 19th century critic saying they just don't want to root for the killer in Crime and Punishment. Or Breaking Bad isn't great because Walter actually goes bad.
  7. The people in this thread who think the playoff committee will do anything remotely fair or logical.
  8. It sucks that Florida State plays last because the cleanest scenario and the super unlikely scenario are total opposites and totally depend on FSU. I wish FSU played first so I knew what to root for. Clean Easy Scenario: FSU loses, Georgia wins, Washington Wins, Michigan wins. They take the undefeated conference champs and Texas. Hardly any 1 loss teams are left, and the few that are don't merit discussion. Super Unlikely Scenario: FSU wins so we need as many 1 loss champs as possible to muddy the waters. Bama, Texas, Oregon, Michigan (lol), with Ohio State and Washington suddenly being considered as well. But it mainly just comes down to FSU losing or a miracle.
  9. Petrino is so excited to finally get to do something.
  10. Don't care who wins; I just hope it's a blowout so we never have to hear about the loser again.
  11. And Urban thought Michigan and Ohio State would share the #1 spot? Maybe a producer didn't explain it to them correctly. Either way, trash.
  12. These picks are so bad, I don't ever want to hear anyone on here talk about how great this show is again. Not one person on a show dedicated solely to college football could come up with a theoretically feasible playoff scenario? In Meyer's scenario, Oregon loses to Washington and gets the 4 spot with 2 losses? Everyone else imagines that the loser of Ohio State Michigan would be in ahead of an undefeated Washington or Florida State? It's literally not possible for any of these playoff scenarios to happen.
  13. I don't expect Sanders to stay, but it's nice to imagine what Sanders could do as a tight end getting 80 or so targets with Worthy and Mitchell gone.
  14. I think there are only 4 scenarios where we get in 1. Both Washington and Oregon lose this week to their in state rivals. 2. One of Washington or Oregon lose this week and then follows that up by winning the Pac 12. 3. The winner of Ohio State/Michigan loses to Iowa. 4. Florida State loses to either Florida or Louisville. (4) is the only one that I think is going to happen, so I'm rooting hard for it. The SEC champ is getting in no matter what; there's no sense spending time arguing about it. It makes you look naive to spend time suggesting they would leave them out. I'm maybe slightly worried that (4) happens, Georgia loses, and the committee takes Georgia instead of Texas. But it's not a real worry. The only way I can see that happening is if our wins over Tech and the Big 12 runner up look like the TCU type win where no one thinks we look impressive. And honestly, if play like that, a lot of us deep down won't think we're better than Georgia either.
  15. The most annoying thing is the idea that Alabama is a totally different team now and Milroe wasn't good when we played. I walked out of that stadium thinking Milroe was the best player on the field for Bama. He carried them; he just made two costly mistakes. Alabama was good when we beat them. They didn't turn into a different team other than calling more designed runs for Milroe. What really happened was Alabama didn't go on to play anyone nearly as good as Texas the rest of their season.
  16. Not only that, every sports media member likes Oregon more than Washington. People get a hard on for blowout wins.
  17. The argument would be that the SEC has never and will never be left out of the playoffs. You're more likely to get 2 than zero.
  18. Sure. Sit down real quick and I'll explain the last 14 years of college football to you.
  19. Sark impressed me with his play calling more than ever last night. -The short yardage pass to Whittington was a great play call for an OC who has rammed it into a 9 man box on short yardage all year long. -The play action pass to Helm was totally unexpected. Sark used that two tight end motion about 30 times against TCU and I think every time it was a run. Iowa State didn't see it coming. -Ewers had so many wide open targets all night. -The run game without Brooks looked as good as ever.
  20. I really think it's now as simple as winning out and hoping FSU drops one without Jordan Travis. If that happens, they're taking the winners of the SEC, Pac 12, Big Ten and Big 12.
  21. I'm sure Bally is fine if you're on cable. But it is the worst steaming app I've ever used. Fast forwarding and rewinding is horrible, it constantly has load issues, it asks for a password every other time you use it, the entire app was down for a couple nights a week ago. Not to mention, if you wanted to just pay for the App by itself aside from DirecTV, the Mavs and Stars were available but the Rangers weren't. Not great.
  22. I'm not sure how many would advise Ewers to come back if Worthy, Mitchell, and Sanders are all gone. If he comes back, he'd need one of those three to return. I dunno, maybe the TV announcers will tell us next year that part of him finding himself involved wanting to get a master's degree.
  23. This. People are giving way too much credence to the idea that everyone wins out. How many times have we seen four Power 5 undefeated conference champs? Florida has two rivalry games and probably Louisville. The Pac 12 can still beat itself up. Also, Oklahoma's demise has improved the quality of Texas's perceived strength of schedule. If it ends up 12-1 Texas, 10-3 Oklahoma State, 10-2 Oklahoma, 10-2 Kansas, 8-4 Kansas State, that's going to look just as impressive as whatever the Pac 12 has after they beat each other late.
  24. Oregon could lose to USC or Oregon State. Washington could lose to Washington State or Utah. Feasibly. Then you just hope the higher ranked team loses the Pac 12 championship.
  25. I'm at the point where I almost want to treat any third and long with Murphy as though we're about to punt. He's horrible on obvious passing downs. Limit him to deep shots, comeback throws, hitches, etc. Our running game, receivers, defense, special teams should be good enough to win our last three games as long as Murphy doesn't turn the ball over. But he will turn it over if we give him free reign to sit back and make reads. Savior Red should probably get more snaps but where he actually reads the end and hands it off sometimes. If our passing game is going to be limited, might as well make the running game more intricate.
