  1. Cool stat from his Wikipedia: Abmas in 2021 was the first player to score 25+ in each of the first three games of a single NCAA tournament since Steph Curry.
  2. Wouldn’t be shocked if we play on the road at Ole Miss or Tennessee with the chances that Arch is the starter.
  3. Gundy abused the shit out of late subs last year
  4. Didn’t see this coming at all, but I’m happy. Really hope the decision pays off for him and he plays his way into the first round this season.
  5. Julian Phillips appears to be withdrawing from the draft too
  6. Please be Texas. Also thought this random tweet from Fanta was interesting.
  7. Nahlin put in a 60% RPM for Parker Livingstone to Texas
  8. From last week before the Hunter news was out, but good article on Abmas from The Athletic.
  9. The depth behind the admittedly elite Dickinson/KJ duo is suspect. Also not a lot of length or true shooting threats beyond Timberlake. They don’t have anything like Wilson/McCullar/Dick in terms of a wing, not even a Brock. They’ll need 2-3 true freshmen ready to be in the rotation (especially Elmarko), Arterio to make the jump we thought he’d make here, and Timberlake to match his Towson production versus tougher comp. This past year’s KU roster was much better on paper IMO. They do have Bill Self and Allen Fieldhouse, so they still should be the favorite and will finish top 3. But if Texas actually ends up with two more talented players then I think there would be an argument for that roster. I love the potential outside shooting team being built, and think the Disu/Shedrick combo is going to be lethal. If they somehow pulled Spencer and Kaluma, I’d start booking accomodations in Glendale.
  10. Adam Zagoria dropped an article on Cam Spencer’s recruitment taking shape. If this is really an NIL-oriented recruitment, then it seems like we are at least making a decent offer. The list includes defending national champion UConn, former Big East powerhouse Georgetown, blue bloods Kentucky and Indiana, and NIL-equipped programs like Miami and Texas.
  11. I’m guessing Brock will be rich as fuck without ever playing a minute of pro ball.
  12. The “bias sips” at On3 also had Iamaleava as the #1 QB in the final rankings. Facts are irrelevant.
  13. That was legitimately the most excited I’ve been about anything NBA-related since Game 1 of the 2017 WCF. As an admittedly terrible fan since Kawhi bailed, I’m so pumped to fully restore my only pro sports interest. Go Spurs Go.
  14. I guess this guy can run a little bit. Would like to introduce him to Anthony Hill.
  15. Don’t think Holland can do anything until UT releases him from his NLI. The Ball St guard Jaylin Sellers is visiting UCF right now, so we don’t seem to be pursuing too hard at the moment. Not sure what Tyrese is waiting for if he’s planning on coming back. It looks like there’s a dead period from May 18-26 so maybe the activity will start up again after that and some guys withdraw from the draft.
  16. Their “best season in 50 years” being the covid year is too good. It was great to have CFB on and went better than I’d expected, but I pretty much consider it an asterisk year with everything like the limited/no fans, players praying to avoid a postive test, and games being cancelled. Obviously the craziness of a worldwide pandemic on everybody’s minds too. Honestly would’ve forgotten that they thought they deserved to make the playoff if it wasn’t for this thread. If I were them, the Johnny year would be far superior to 2020. But that would be admitting Sumlin was anything other than the architect of their recent failures, so it may be controversial.
  17. “Kansas St lost to Tulane” Not like Tulane actually won a NY6 bowl game where the opponent still had their best players contributing. Jimbo would’ve used the COVID excuse again if he was matched up with USC and Caleb. Also, Texas A&M lost to App St
  18. Colin Simmons is in Austin this weekend to train at Jeremy Hills’ facility “Kollective” with some NFL players like Parsons. Hill and Baxter have been there recently too, so that is a nice tool to have in recruiting and for offseason work. Gerry also mentioned that there is a good chance UT grad David Mulugheta will be Simmons’ agent. IT had LSU with the edge (for the EDGE) as of yesterday, but this seems like decently important information pointing in our favor. Mulugheta does have big time athletes from other schools signed as well, but not sure if any of them have been with him while in college for NIL deals. Hopefully Simmons somehow finds some time to visit campus.
  19. Bijan’s debut is a home game in Atlanta vs the Panthers and Bryce Young (exactly one year after the two played each other in Austin). 1pm eastern the day after the Bama game and three hours from Tuscaloosa. Only two for those staying in Birmingham. As someone who has never been to or really had the urge to attend an NFL game before, think I have to make this my first. Can’t pass up such a golden opportunity to have seen Bijan’s UT and pro openers.
  20. CBS Post-Spring QB Power Ranking Save you a click: 1. Caleb Williams 2. Drake Maye 3. Quinn Ewers I think this offseason most of the CFB media has finally realized that claiming Texas will be good will get them even more engagement than saying we suck again.
