  1. Don’t think Holland can do anything until UT releases him from his NLI. The Ball St guard Jaylin Sellers is visiting UCF right now, so we don’t seem to be pursuing too hard at the moment. Not sure what Tyrese is waiting for if he’s planning on coming back. It looks like there’s a dead period from May 18-26 so maybe the activity will start up again after that and some guys withdraw from the draft.
  2. Their “best season in 50 years” being the covid year is too good. It was great to have CFB on and went better than I’d expected, but I pretty much consider it an asterisk year with everything like the limited/no fans, players praying to avoid a postive test, and games being cancelled. Obviously the craziness of a worldwide pandemic on everybody’s minds too. Honestly would’ve forgotten that they thought they deserved to make the playoff if it wasn’t for this thread. If I were them, the Johnny year would be far superior to 2020. But that would be admitting Sumlin was anything other than the architect of their recent failures, so it may be controversial.
  3. “Kansas St lost to Tulane” Not like Tulane actually won a NY6 bowl game where the opponent still had their best players contributing. Jimbo would’ve used the COVID excuse again if he was matched up with USC and Caleb. Also, Texas A&M lost to App St
  4. Colin Simmons is in Austin this weekend to train at Jeremy Hills’ facility “Kollective” with some NFL players like Parsons. Hill and Baxter have been there recently too, so that is a nice tool to have in recruiting and for offseason work. Gerry also mentioned that there is a good chance UT grad David Mulugheta will be Simmons’ agent. IT had LSU with the edge (for the EDGE) as of yesterday, but this seems like decently important information pointing in our favor. Mulugheta does have big time athletes from other schools signed as well, but not sure if any of them have been with him while in college for NIL deals. Hopefully Simmons somehow finds some time to visit campus.
  5. Bijan’s debut is a home game in Atlanta vs the Panthers and Bryce Young (exactly one year after the two played each other in Austin). 1pm eastern the day after the Bama game and three hours from Tuscaloosa. Only two for those staying in Birmingham. As someone who has never been to or really had the urge to attend an NFL game before, think I have to make this my first. Can’t pass up such a golden opportunity to have seen Bijan’s UT and pro openers.
  6. CBS Post-Spring QB Power Ranking Save you a click: 1. Caleb Williams 2. Drake Maye 3. Quinn Ewers I think this offseason most of the CFB media has finally realized that claiming Texas will be good will get them even more engagement than saying we suck again.
  7. That does look way more interesting and unique than ours admittedly. If a recruit decides to go elsewhere because he prefers the architecture of their practice facility I will have to respect their decision, at least it wasn’t all for the money.
  8. June 23-25 pool party is about to be lit af. Best class scenario updated from IT, hope it pastes correctly.
  9. He shot .545/.353/.829 during conference play which is encouraging. Interesting that his minutes went down drastically in the tournament, not sure what happened there (injury or Rick didn’t trust him under that much pressure?). Personally I’ll wait for Gerry to send out the bat signal before getting too excited.
  10. But could he do it with Chris Beard’s roster?
  11. Love it. Also Joe Tipton really fills his role as the basketball Hayes Fawcett perfectly down to the painfully generic and random edits.
  12. Saw a tweet that said Weaver was 47% on corner threes this season. High school numbers are impressive too. He would be a perfect fit either as the third guard if they actually start three or in the sixth man Sir’Jabari role if they go with Abmas/Hunter/Holland/Disu/Shedrick. Definitely good with three guards on the court at times, but that lineup w/ Holland at the 3 would be crazy with a bench of Weaver, Brock, Onyema, and a combo guard who would be good with around Arterio level minutes. If Anamekwe is ready then I’d love to see what he can do to help with additional depth. Not sure if Weaver can be a lead guard but if not, it feels like the last guy needs to be a third guy who can run the offense to take pressure off Abmas and Tyrese. I guess I wouldn’t be suprised to see Holland take the ball up though like Timmy did a bit this year. Gerry seems to think the minutes are there for a really good player at guard even if Weaver/Onyema hop on board, and hinted that there are still some priority targets expected to hit the portal. Love watching the team come together. Going to be an annual occurrence seemingly.
  13. The week after last year’s game I impulsively bought two nights at the Tuscaloosa Howard Johnson for $156 total. Going to be real shitty but fuck it, when in Rome. Helps when trying to stomach the price for the tickets off stubhub.
  14. Just going to hope the offense is in good hands with Haith on staff. Knowing who is actually going to be on the court is far more important to me right now than one assistant leaving, though Donewald was great. Getting Abmas would be a great start and hopefully ramp up the momentum again. Also, Holland moved up to #2 in the final ESPN rankings.
  15. Gerry claims visits to Wichita St and Texas are scheduled but not public yet, for what reason I have no clue.
  16. Yikes. Billy and all the ags in the replies really have never seen this classic LeBron post?
  17. He’s broken some stuff in the past. Not sure why he’d have a source on this one, but I tend to believe he isn’t just making it up.
  18. Gerry did say he doesn’t expect that to be his only thread of the week after Trill committed.
