  1. Memphis misses a layup @ Houston that wouldā€™ve made it a three point game with just under two minutes left. Memphisā€™ best player is out too.
  2. All tied with KU at 10-4 with four games remaining. Not counting out Baylor yet, but hereā€™s how the finish shapes up between the two top teams. UT: ISU, @ Baylor, @ TCU, KU KU: @ TCU, WVU, TT, @ UT TCU winning on Monday night would be huge. They can beat anyone with Miles back, but KU is on fire. TCU getting the upset and UT pulling one out against ISU the next night is about the only way I could see us playing for sole possession of first place in the last game, since I doubt KU drops any of their home games (maybe do us a favor for once, Mark Adams). This scenario would allow us to go into the daunting road trip north just needing a split to set up a chance for the championship on March 4th. Fuck, the Tech loss hurts. Those assholes may have ruined our chances at playing for conference titles in football and hoops this year. My guess is we beat ISU, then lose both road games. KU continues their streak and wins their next three, clinching the conference before losing to us in an emotional one at Moody. Finish the regular season 23-8 (12-6) and a likely 2 seed barring a collapse in the first game in KC. Wouldā€™ve never expected to be in this position after December 12th, so no matter what Iā€™m going to enjoy the ride and the final stretch with these guys who have given their all for the program.
  3. Will be good to see him back, except for against Texas. We pretty much need them to beat KU to finish alone in first.
  4. And yet when they lose 5+ games this season they will inevitably blame lack of experience.
  5. Road wins are so satisying after seeing hoards of ugly mfs throwing the Horns down all game. Please keep doing it.
  6. Hopefully he is at least right about us landing in Denver for the first two rounds. Need to cross a UT tournament game off the bucket list.
  7. Interestingā€¦ doesnā€™t really put much fear into me.
  8. Tennessee down 17-4 @ Florida at the under 12 timeout
  9. Yeah now that I look again I have no idea lol. Must have somehow missed him on my quick skims of a couple, my bad.
  10. Yessir. If KSU loses @ KU tomorrow we are in sole possession of first heading into the weekend.
  11. Going to be hard for us to keep up with anyone when this happens. Brutal.
  12. Show me a loss TCU leaked their schedule. Horns go to Fort Worth on November 11th. TCU plays @ UH and hosts BYU of the new schools.
  13. TCU fucked up and posted theirs for a second on their site. We go to Fort Worth on November 11th.
  14. Lol right, thatā€™s definitely more realistic. Where will we possibly find a coach and players that can achieve the glory of an above .500 record? Sure, the next guy might end up sucking worse than Shaka. But considering this is a top 15 job at worst, the amount of talent in Texas + the programā€™s national pull, the resources UT is seemingly throwing into basketball lately, and CDCā€™s solid track record of landing the right guy, the extreme pessimism is wild to me. Beard isnā€™t the only coach who has rebuilt a roster in one offseason with success recently, although he might have been up there with the best. Buzz fucking Williams even has a&m at 15-6 and 3rd in the SEC, where our new hire will likely coach most of his contract. Not that aggie mediocrity would be acceptable, but itā€™s far from hovering around .500.
  15. Zero optimism on the basketball board, maybe this thread will be different. Dillon Mitchell has completely fallen off mock drafts from what Iā€™ve seen; I hate it for him, but he needs more time before the NBA. Really looking forward to seeing how everything plays out after the season. If we keep the two recruits signed and the guys with eligibility left out of the portal, thereā€™s a great nucleus for the new coach to stack some transfers around. Tyrese (ideally playing like himself again), sophomore Terio and DM, 30 year old Brock, a potential superstar in Ron Holland, and Brumbaugh/AJ Johnson as backup guards who can handle the ball. Pick up a wing with outside range and a rim protector in the portal and I think thatā€™s a salty team. I trust CDC to get the right guy to build off the shred of momentum we have left after Beardā€™s demise.
  16. Line is only ISU -1 for tomorrow @ Tech. Guessing those guys are expected to be out?
  17. Tennessee right now is also a far better team than early season Gonzaga. Plus it was on the road in front of 22k instead of maybe the best environment in Texas basketball history. I donā€™t see the point in comparing these two games besides beating the dead horse that Beard > Terry. No matter who we hire, seems like after every loss for the next few years we will be discussing how Beard wouldā€™ve won that game. I 100% get it, but goddamn is it already insufferable. Thatā€™s on me for checking the basketball board after a loss though.
