  1. Yep. Many moons ago when I was trying to make my JUCO team, we had more than a couple of guys that quickly transferred after being cut by Gus early in the fall. I was lucky and made the cut as a walk on when many guys (much better than me) didn't take the STUDENT part of student athlete serious enough, and their GPA after the fall semester was too low which of course got them cut.
  2. Concur with all of this...first thing I saw upon getting into the parking was those fucktard Austin parking enforcement assholes. so I knew to make sure I parked properly. They ticketed a lot of cars that had parked on the grass berm or behind the strip mall as every parking space and more was taken. Whether you got there at 6 /7 am or later in the day, you had to wait 3 hrs to get in. I got there around 220-230 pm and didn't get to check in until around 520p. Played cards well past midnight and the end of the line getting in the door was around 1am. It wasn't just ATX players as there were plenty that I talked with that came from Dallas as they were told the yearly would work at their rooms in Dallas also. That was third party so not sure about that. Food was definitely a mess. Two guys at my table had waited over two hrs for their food and finally got some after calling the head floor and manager from the kitchen. Some of the servers were not great either. They missed our table, number one right in front plenty of times. I landed up walking across the street and getting some food from one of the businesses by the old room as that was much faster getting food that way.. No doubt the kinks will get worked out. Cool room though with a good layout and bar. Getting the matching $500 in hrs and the yearly for $10 to me was worth the wait. That and a + session.
  3. Just adding on to the above...👆 https://events.texascardhouse.com/tch-social-austin-grand-opening#newsletter
  4. Definitely a different team without Hurst on the mound.
  5. Rode Hurst through the tourney...
  6. Even with all the west coasters moving in, it's still a rural town with a big ag influence. FFA is huge there, and at stock shows throughout the state.
  7. Pitcher sleepwalking and Fla ( biggest dude other than the catcher) steals home....Boerne down 1.
  8. I think I'm a little bit older than you, have to adjust for inflation.😀
  9. Omar was also very relevant in getting Ivan to the 40...
  10. Wow. OK, cool. That ball that has been there for 60 years (and part of my youth) was/is something else I guess. https://www.boernelittleleague.com/
  11. You must be talking about a different BYAA cuz like I said, the Boerne Youth Athletic Association (a nonprofit) has had little league In Boerne since 1964. Not just the last decade.
  12. Boerne Little League is celebrating it's 60th year this year (started in 1964). I grew up in Boerne in the 70's. This was waaay before Champion, as Sam was still a lifeguard at the swimming pool. If you played high school ball, you had an automatic in to umpire the little league and pony league games, $4 bucks for behind the plate and $3 for the infield. If your partner didn't show up, you got the full $7. High cotton.

  14. 2 episodes in..., Cowboy Cartel 👍
  15. C'mon Torre! Don't forget Dougie Hodo!!😀 Prior to Seth coming to UT, the 'Hounds were getting ready for the state tourney. My wife and I happened to be back in town visiting my folks. We would always go the high school cuz the Mrs. wanted to get in a track workout. I saw the team practicing (weird for a weekend) and walked over to the ballfield to watch them scrimmage. After about 10-15 minutes, the coach came over and in a round about way asked what I was doing, I had to disappoint him by telling him I was just an old alum and former ball player that was just taking in practice. He laughed cuz he thought I was someone from their next opponent scouting them out. Oh, and Russell's dad was one of my high school coaches. CSB and all that 😛
  16. Yea, pretty regarded. There is another Boerne dad that is worse than the Vandy whistler...
  17. Get out the mustard and the rye cuz it's Grand Salami time!!!
