  1. who's gonna tell him about PEX Herpes?
  2. is it that hard? is it really that fucking hard? jfc on a popsicle stick. /trivial shit
  3. I make the same mental translation when I hear Manu Ginobli to Heywood Jablowme as I do Gus Malzahn to Harry Ballsagna. they're not even close. it annoys me. carry on.
  4. I'm just gonna assume it was about Ameros.
  5. my bad. should have said, "tell the last part first." apparently, I sweat 1/2" copper for beer (if you're in 78759).
  6. maybe, but my working theory lately is there's too many damn lawyers here, and no one wants to take the chance on getting sued. kind of like how none of the real doctors chime in on the health/injury threads.
  7. from all the recreational drinking and lack of activity, I was clearly dehydrated, but had to run with the inspiration (and comparatively fair weather) at the moment. started running out of juice somewhere in the U. resultant backfires from the increase in effort diverted my aim several times, thereafter. all the pipe paranoia here finally got to me last night, so I went around checking hose bibs. had two frozen. no heatgun, so I used my MAPP torch from a distance, until I got cold and pissed off at the stubborn one. sweat joint came loose, just inside the rock wall (haha, very funny plumber guy). I backed off, and it seemed to hold when it cooled down. not so much when I checked it this morning. shut off the main, drained the system, then removed, cleaned and reinstalled it. bullet dodged. so...don't do what I did (although it was effective on the ice problem). .
  8. 2.0: good thing my HEB is never open. otherwise if they sell out of those fries, my kids will hunt you down and kill you. last of the chili I made on Thursday to take with us on a ski trip we cancelled on Friday. ran out of fritos yesterday, so had to go with broken Calidads. pretty sure the japs triggered my run upstairs. can't complain. got to take care of business while I still had power to my bidet. never know exactly when the next blackout will hit.
  9. I can attest, she's smokin hot.
  10. we have plumbers...but they live down here, too. plumbing school prof probably just skipped the Frozen Pipes 101 chapter. HVAC: I'm on a heat pump. gave up on that yesterday. emergency heat is holding 64, but it's running all the time.
  11. shityeah! real kids fly that wooden tabletop. I've not figured out how to get enough speed there to compensate for my lack of technique to do that.
  12. btw, this is my press. https://www.amazon.com/Secura-Stainless-French-Coffee-Screen/dp/B00JE36GLQ love it. unbreakable, easy to clean, and insulated so your coffee stays hot.
  13. this but Independence Jet Fuel (buy Texan, not that faggoty California Pete's bullshit (was that outloud?)).
  14. I remember the first tug-o-war. couple brothers and I listened to it on the radio, circled around a card table in their gravel driveway, rebuilding the carb on their old (66?) Ford pickup. technically, Manchaca; so not SA, but we all grew up together in a neighborhood between Stassney and Ben White. but 78759, where I live now, has lots of soul. at least in my neighborhood, there're plenty of those "I'm so gonna vote", "Love is love, etc." and Biden-Harris signs still up in yards. just ignore the Teslas, Audis and Beemers in those same driveways. it's unfortunate that BradATX moved out to the hill country. Otherwise, I'm sure he'd be happy to host the hordes of unwashed if he was more conveniently located for them.
  15. @midtown, was there a pro photog set up on Antidote today? was on there yesterday. curious if pics are posted somewhere. like to see what my 6" of steez looks like.
  16. yeah I soaked up those humps you're talking about on Viper's. saying I 'scrubbed' them would be dishonest. I suppose it could be done, but don't have the skill or foresight to line them up so if I did launch them, I wouldn't land way off in the trees. pretty twisty down there, and it feels like the trees are pretty low. hate to find out the hard way. leaving for NM on Friday to snowboard, right into the teeth of that front. here's hoping it either moves east or stalls out over Oklahoma so we can all have a good weekend down here. had a very Surly ride this morning, down in South Austin. went down Mother Slide, and right into Vortex. hadn't been down Mother's in years. long, fun, puckery drop. my quads were still toasty from yesterday and I had a time limit, but I love that area. feel cry about all the trails we skipped. +1 on Minions
  17. spider talk not going away. don't do like I did, today. plan ahead and save ten bucks on the lift ticket. holy shit. conditions today were pretty good. Recluse was kinda blown out, as were the rock gardens on the blacks. it was nice to finally have Stinger open for one of my trips, but they waited til 10am, since it's on the shady side of the hill and there was some mist/fog in the early morning. so I had 9 runs in by that time and was getting tired. so I deliberately swerved and took the bitchline on the lower (bigger) rock garden, out of fatigue. I have to say, top to bottom, I think I like Viper's the best of the blues. Tarantula and Venom about the same, then Antidote. I still just plain suck at Recluse. Viper's wears you out, though. you can't just cruise and pump the jumps. you're working hard, the whole time. light conditions in the afternoon were crap for video. have to listen to understand what's happening on the trail. I kinda wanted to check out Centipede, the new trail that's not even on the map, but it turns out it's a green, and there was a shitload of rookies out there, today.
  18. Austin's a cesspool, and Georgetown is just one of the many surrounding toilets. all basically the same, except maybe Bee Cave, which thinks of itself as a Toto among American Standards.
  19. you'd think a guy that bangs strippers would have some good advice about running sores
  20. have you tried leaving it alone? if nothing else, quit with the peroxide. it does not promote healing. hospitals don't even use it on open wounds anymore. they use it as more of a cleaning product for dried blood, now. or so I was told when I gashed my leg and had to get it stitched up. they flushed it with saline.
