  1. Sark can’t do shit with calls unless the oline retrieves their balls from their moms’ purses. Putrid so far
  2. Thanks! Hoping the young kids would keep it civil. Certainly will not be looking for trouble - just seems like a good time to introduce our sons to college football road trips. Also, my buddy got a 5th wheel or something, and we have some rv inspiration.
  3. @Al_4_ISU what do I need to know about a road trip to ames in november? Considering a final big 12 road trip with a friend and our boys.
  4. I’m too slow…guess the point was made. Silly debate anyway I was certainly feeling pretty good in early 2019. Fuck Tom Herman.
  5. Yeah…whatever. 16-11 outside of last year. No different than Texas when you take away 2018 (15-11). Semantics… I assume we’ll lose another close game to TCU and there will be wailing and gnashing of the teeth, and then it will be November and we’ll be in the driver’s seat of the Big 12. Sunrise, sunset. We’ve had a winning Big 12 record for 4 straight years. All these players have spent most of their time in Austin beating most of the Big 12. Texas cumulative conference record for the past 4 years is 22-13. We’ve beaten most of the Big 12 by any definition of “most”. I never said we were perennial power or winning the league, but in the last 4 years, at the start of November, Texas has been in control of its own destiny in terms of winning the league. …does this mean Texas is back?!
  6. I disagree that he was implying a simple majority
  7. So has Texas? I’m not sure that qualifies as beat most of the big 12 (outside of last year).
  8. Turned out pretty pretty pretty good. I’ll switch up the braising liquid next time for the beef cheeks - was way too salty.
  9. You guys inspired me. Testing out my new smoker with Chuck shorts from costco and beef cheeks
  10. I went a couple weeks ago but didn’t get around to giving an update. I didn’t notice much sargassum, but didn’t spend any time on the south / southeast side really. I noticed the smell the couple times we went down toward coral bay. The north side beaches should be clear unless it changed the day between LF68 and me. Masks were in all restaurants/stores/etc. their enforcement agency is pretty strict and has shut down places that aren’t compliant. Restaurant policy is wear until you’ve sat down. No masks on beaches, but if it’s Maho/trunk with food / rental trailers - those technically require them even though they’re outdoors. No mask at all on the charter we got, but pulling up to Pizza Pi at Epstein big island required it for pickup oddly. we got tests at 5 days out and submitted - CVS so probably pretty similar. Took about 72 hours to clear. I actually loved staying on the east side of the island and ruggedness. I knew the driving would be interesting…but was pretty shocked by the roads day 1 (very steep). I got used to it pretty quickly though. one day I’ll get around to posting pictures. We absolutely loved it there and will definitely be back. Hopefully we can do a BVI charter once the pandemic clears up.
  11. I think there were at most 2 places we visited that were cash only - pizza bar in paradise (recommend) and maybe skinny legs (closed for season). But we also ate half our meals at the rental due to convenience. I’ll post some pictures later
  12. Leaving today. Looks like we had similar views.
  13. Yeah…can’t wait to replicate this success
  14. For sure it’s this. Who wouldn’t miss this shit league blatantly screwing us when we drove a good chunk of their revenue?
  15. SIAP but this was too funny and had to share https://streamable.com/dfd3m stop fucking posting the same links over and over
  16. I was guessing at that this morning. Im not entirely sure how much we’ll dine out vs eat at the rental yet so need to think it through. You and mchookem made me realize I haven’t really thought through the trip much yet.
  17. Also, how much cash should I bring?
  18. I didn’t know about the travel portal requirement. Good thing I caught that in time
  19. I honestly don’t think that’s it or it would be this way every year. There’s definitely less preseason inventory this year and prices are quite a bit higher than normal. Maybe the ticket brokers didn’t survive the shut down and lack of inventory is driving prices up. I have a pretty sizable seatgeek credit from the lsu game last year that expires 9/1 so hopefully more come online.
  20. I went early June for a weekend. There are some covid things to consider (or were then). You have to register for a time slot and may not be able to get in until 1 or 2 if they’re already full. This is waved if you book a room with them. The old side isn’t open every day - think that was a staffing issue as they had a ton of people training so maybe it’s resolved now. Our last day was a Monday and only the new park was open. They also shut down the long rapids tube ride which sucked. But the park wasn’t very busy so there wasn’t a huge impact on lines while we were there. We waited at most 30 minutes for a ride but also made sure to knock out slides before crowds showed up. They open the gates about 30-45 minutes before park open and let the rides start 10-15 before official open. That meant we got 1-2 rides each slide before the masses made the waits not worth it. Drop your stuff at a table and go. I had a waterproof cell phone holder so I didn’t have to leave anything valuable behind. Kids loved it and were exhausted so overall a decent weekend. Muck and Fuss has some really good burgers.
  21. Anyone know why the secondary market is so sparse this year? Usually have a lot of options even pre season but there’s nothing out there really and what’s there is higher than I can ever remember.
