  1. That’s a surprising amount of self awareness from aggy. I don’t think it qualifies as just a little strange, but whatever.
  2. Sam gets it at least. “He’s feeling himself and he goes, ‘Are we gonna keep the foot on the gas or are we gonna get all conservative again?’ ” Herman said. “I said, ‘Hey, listen here. You play. I’ll coach. All right?’ And then we hug when it’s over.”
  3. This is true. Aldi is HEB on German steroids. It wins on supply chain dominance, but still devotes a ton to food r&d for its product to remain at or above major brand quality.
  4. I never made it to mockingbird, but I’m a big fan of jack. He treats regulars like family...slowbone / m&m were good respites during a couple tough stays at children’s.
  5. So you’re saying if it’s not soup nazi execution, you don’t care for it?
  6. Can confirm. It’s hot as fuck. The pool at Ixchel was hot tub temp. Counter argument is it’s hot, but so is Texas and here you still get this: Playa Norte North Garden Chilaquiles Bastos Quesadilla (son’s dinner...but damn it was awesome) Bastos steak w. Verde sauce Also, Bastos was incredible. We rolled up around 4:30 with a group of 13 (half kids) and before we even got to the door, they already had a table setup for the group. Made a few pitchers of aguas frescas for the kids, margaritas for the adults and delivered a bunch of great food. I think between all the kids and adults, we sampled pretty much the entire menu - all awesome. We’ll do a quesadilla take out night once this week to give the kids/us a break from running around instead of the pizza we planned
  7. May not be quite shank quality, but it got the job done. Costco tacos - cheese and bacon egg bites, goolsby sausage patties, sour cream (a bit too much), herdez, and shitty tortillas from a ziploc found in the cabinet.
  8. Any good poker in Shreveport? May do an overnight this week for other reasons.
  9. This is a great point. Marvel at how good they are at taking money from you. It’s truly an art.
  10. Disney is made for planners. We had great success getting up early, being in the park and seeing what was important early (rides/characters/whatever) before the crowds of mongoloids on scooters (and it’s depressing how many people need them to get around). It’s easier to enjoy the little things amongst the crowds of mouth breathers once your itinerary is done. But in all honesty, your family will have a great time if you have a great time. Have a good attitude and set the stage for a good time. Planning makes it less of a beating since you’ll know what to expect. I’d recommend touringplans.com. I found the itinerary planning and expected wait times very useful.
  11. ....so he’s the greatest of all time? He has won at multiple schools.
  12. Lardo was my favorite there. We tried a few of the sandwiches because we went back 2 times over 4 days and enjoyed pretty much all of them.

I went a few weeks ago and had a similar experience. It was kind of heartbreaking.
  14. 27 days for us. Bringing some friends and all their kids. Any tips for dining with large groups? 6 adults, 7 kids.
  15. Thanks. I ended up with the G70...hopefully I don’t regret it. I wasn’t expecting to end there, but really enjoy driving it. Genesis has some dealership quirks to work out still, but I could see it becoming a pretty competitive luxury brand if they do. The dealership experience absolutely has to be fixed for them to be viable...I could see the Hyundai experience not working for most of the market.
  16. Yeah, but it’s a “bacon rib”. Believe it’s just bone in pork belly. Also on the top right because I saw the 1/4 lb I got on the 2 meat plate and decided to get more. I thought the beef cheek was like a decadent version of beef rib.
  17. Based on the crowd, I’d assume so.
  18. In Austin for the weekend visiting some friends so we decided to pack up the kids and check out LeRoy and Lewis this morning. I ended up ordering some of everything for my family of 5 - sausage, pulled pork, beef cheek, barbacoa with a side of bacon rib and another 1/2 lb of beef cheek. Sides of beans, curry rice, other rice (can’t remember), kimchi, and barbacoa taco. The stars were the beef cheek, bacon rib and barbacoa (just their beef cheek pulled + something with a bit heat). The sides were really good as well. The only thing we didn’t thoroughly enjoy was the pulled pork. It was good...just not great. We ended up sharing some of the beef cheek and rib with our friends and the kids helped us polish off everything else. I’m not sure how much longer they’ll fly under the radar, but hopefully I’ll be able to hit up on a brisket day before they get busy.
  19. My Infiniti has had annoying recurring issues, so I’m trying something else. I drove a GS350 and IS350 before heading to the genesis dealership. The dealership sucked (was a Hyundai dealership that sold genesis), but damn that car was a lot of fun. I’m seriously considering getting the 3.3T version.
  20. Not sure if this is the right place, but I’m not a car guy and looking for opinions. I’m thinking about replacing my g37 with a Lexus CPO IS or GS, but my car fanatic coworkers said I really should test drive a Genesis G70 first. I’m going for long term reliability as a daily driver. I don’t drive fast or aggressively, but appreciate being able to move around slow drivers in the g37. Thoughts on IS, GS or G70?
  21. These writers are so fucking terrible. Derka was right
