  1. 40 years ago when I lost 128 lbs in less than 11 months, it enhanced our sex life.
  2. Some dude on a gun forum said his new wife (whose dad worked for Smith & Wesson) gave him this bottle of vodka for his birthday:
  3. Mrs. Brat’s former high school boyfriend was severely burned when his helicopter was shot down in Vietnam. His upper body & head were badly burned - his nose, ears, & hair were gone. Plus most of the skin from his chest, back, arms & hands. He spent almost two years at Brooke Army Hospital in San Antonio immobilized on a special bed face down half the time recovering. They grew him a new nose by partially cutting a flap of flesh from his arm and attaching it to his face - with his arm strapped up so it would grow in place over a few months and be cosmetically shaped. At the time of the crash he saved his eyesight by crossing his forearm over both eyes. After his recovery, he returned to active duty, got married to a beautiful nurse, and had a productive career in Army Aviation before retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He’s quite an interesting guy and a good man.
  4. Top ten selling handguns for 2024:
  5. IIRC - the Lahaina pwer company failed to do that in the tragic Hawaii fire. Please correct me if I’m wrong.
  6. 70 years ago in St. Louis I was walking alone across the ice surface of a frozen swamp pond located in a wooded sinkhole area about a half mile from our home at Jefferson Barracks. One leg broke through up to my crotch, but luckily I was able to extricate myself out quickly and ran home. Leg was damn near frozen with slimy crap, and Mom chewed me out pretty good for being stupid. Just remembering that incident still makes me shrivel up.
  7. One of my great grandads was shooting at Confederates during the Battle of Wilson’s Creek. The other one was probably filling his diaper (if he even wore one).
  8. As I stated in post #30846 on the previous page.
  9. “isomorphism” That’s a new one for me. Thanks Tex.
  10. ruxin apparently doesn’t remember their sitting national championship coach said quite clearly in a 2022 interview that A&M did NOT have an NIL program then.
  11. Kara certainly was a hippie chick…
  12. My late DIL Kara worked at Shady Grove (and alternated some at Chuy’s) from the late 1990s until 2011. Waited tables, bartended, and was an assistant manager before she passed away in 2013.
  13. Some like to agrue that the Earth is flat too.

  17. Those colors were all the rage among the younger people starting in the late 1960s. Our first house had the avocado colored appliances in 1971….
