  5. Here is an interesting Colt being offered at the Rock Island Gun Auction mentioned in Reagan’s video: https://www.rockislandauction.com/detail/4092/3112/the-man-who-shot-liberty-valance-colt-single-action-amy-revolver That Colt used by Lee Marvin in the Liberty Valance film was originally shipped to Petmecky’s Sporting Goods (on Congress Avenue) in Austin in 1885. The first handgun I bought for myself is this Ruger Single Six - at Petmecky’s in 1959. I still have it in my safe:
  6. The feds eminent domained his place in the late 1940s to build a series of large reservoirs along the Missouri River in western North Dakota. It was dammed up by the mid 1950s, eventually creating what is now Lake Sakakawea. Luckily, the feds forgot to take the mineral rights too, so the former landowners’ heirs inherited them. Turns out the area is in the sweet spot of the Bakken oil play (a small version of the Permian Basin). Prior to the lake filling up, several towns on Indian reservations had to be moved, plus a lot of farmers & ranchers were displaced along the 170+ mile section of the inundated river. Lewis & Clark would’ve been amazed too.
  7. He couldn’t afford one. Too bad he didn’t know about the millions of $$$$ worth of oil two miles underneath his 260 acres. But I and his 20 other extended family descendants are grateful for it.
  8. My great uncle’s North Dakota homestead back in the day. It is now under 60’ of Lake Sakakawea
  9. Oops, sorry. I tend to get distracted easily. OU sucks.

  12. That dropped one full inch at my house in Brushy Creek (west side of RR)
  13. Had this small lunch portion one today at the Louisiana Longhorn in Round Rock. Gave it a 5.5, but the onion strings & fries were at the 8.0 level. Their Texas size dinner cfs gets an 8 or 8.5.
  14. My friend’s Chinook (he was the crew chief) and several others went down with the Atlantic Conveyor in that fight. He was reassigned to the general motorpool on shore.
