  1. I was ghosted by a Bluebonnet Belle back in the day.
  2. I’ve been drawing mine for 18 years (retired 10 years before that). The wife likewise, except she retired only 3 years before she started drawing hers. We didn’t need it, but just used some over the years to suppliment our travel & entertainment. Most is just sitting in bank certificates l
  3. Every firearms aficionado should have a levergun, and the Marlin is one of the top choices, IMO. Bought my .30-30 new in 1968 for about $80. Added a cheap Tasco a few years later. Son#2 owns it now.
  4. You & Mrs. Brat. 😀 Thought she was going to swoon when we drove by Buckingham Palace in ‘18. Liz was there, but didn’t invite us in.
  5. This is more like it….instead of the overdone “tactical” versions. Marlin .45-70 Guide Gun: http://grabagun.com/marlin-1895-guide-gun-wood-45-70-19-1-barrel-6-rounds.html?trk_msg=NF29T2A6BOOKBA520E6DO7L5E4&trk_contact=T9IKMTJU5O1Q81JQ1ICC6TGMA8&trk_sid=MAPIIJ4O6B0QUJ718BO74C2KKC&trk_link=GIQKOP5N5G0KD88K3F30UIV5UO&utm_source=listrak&utm_medium=email&utm_term=Marlin+1895+Guide+Gun+Wood+.45-70+19.1%26quot%3b+Barrel+6-Rounds+(image)&utm_campaign=Blast+-+Behavioral+Banner

    Getting old sucks

Getting old sucks….Part 23,789: Side effects of multiple blood thinner medications - I don’t even need to bump into anything to bruise or pop a blood vessel. The vessel on my hand just started bleeding. The bandaid helped stop it, but left a bruise when removed. The forearm nasty appeared one morning when I woke up
  7. In 1967 my teacher take home pay was $352/month. Monthly expenses…. Rent for 2 bedroom 1 bath furnished fourplex apartment in Giddings was $100. Utilities - $15. Car payment for new ‘67 Chevy Malibu - $83. Auto insurance - $21. Total food tab at local grocery store - $32-$35. That’s all I can remember.
  8. I remember when there were no such things as ATMs.
  9. My Missouri native granddad shot lots of squirrels with this Remington .22 Short semiautomatic. Grandma made a pretty good stew with those critters according to him. My brother owns the .22 now. (And to keep this football related, Grandpa never attended a football game in his life)
  10. Makes Ms. Hattie’s M&M Court motel of the 1960s on South Congress look legit.
  11. Good boy, Otis.
  12. I saw Dizzy Dean driving a yellow Stutz Bearcat in downtown St. Louis during the mid 1950s. He was wearing a long white duster, googles and flat cap.
  13. Don’t feel bad……this one resonates with me the same way. (when I first saw The Strip - the Tropicana in the foreground and the Flamingo & the Sahara further up the desert)
  14. Mrs. Brat is ready…..
  15. Super Bill was a helluva great punter too.
  16. I was at that game, and we all laughed when we realized what those dejected land thieves were chanting when he ran into The Tunnel.
