Lever action 30-30 and or .357? Yes please. Beautiful works, and is a great pass it on piece, if they survive the boat trip! Love the pics. Disclaimer, IANAL! Others should jump in here. As this could be a good discussion / learning opportunity. The laws state to state? IF is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. Forget NFA/ATF items. Period, full stop if not dealing with known locations, just don’t! There is a form/process for that. Not too bad, but planned, known locations. Moving on to everyday just get in a car and go things, is still problematic, even with normal items. But that is another problem, what is a normal item? What is legal here, may not be legal there. Capacity of a magazine is an issue for example. How do you travel with one? Some were pointed out above, in car, hotel, which state/county/city… secured helps. But… not easy to answer. Gun and ammo separate or loaded? LTC/CC holder? Reciprocity is still tricky if provided, although it’s not 188x, it’s still something to work through. There are some states / cities that are a hard pass (for me anyway), even with licensing / paperwork. Simply for the fact that one has to be 100% correct 100% every time. Even if you are right, it’s time and money! Whatever you have, the local government has more. Hunting in another county, state, country, paperwork and processes. Most people are going to do that only (we get it, guys trip), get in, hunt, get out. Driving state to state on a road trip? Hmmm, curious, more details are needed. What are your state laws? Where are you planning to go? One continuous trip, all states? Multiple trips over time? All in one, life bucket list with multiple or combo of things (sight seeing / hunting / camping)? It can probably be done, with a lot planning, and paperwork. As asked, I would rather do a Cannonball run, than just jump in and drive (the speed limit), coast to coast packing, if the packages survive the boat trip!
