  1. Eh, as a former law clerk I could see how a bunch of them might pitch in funds for a party (with a current clerk being the one doing the colleting). That said, someone needs to come forward and explain what it was for.
  2. Spoiler tags are unnecessary unless you’re posting book info that hasn’t been revealed on the show.
  3. Haha this reminds me of an Indian Princess campout back when DDD was in K or 1st grade. One of the other dads (Longhorn engineer for Lockheed) had to take a call on his cell phone with a military officer in Iraq to help target a bunker buster or some such. Five minutes later he's back having a cold non-alcoholic (ahem) drink in a red solo cup by the fire, telling us he couldn't tell us anything but that Saddam was having a very bad day.
  4. Grabbed a Cubano sandwich at Latin Deli on Friday. While it was tasty it was NOT a Cuban sandwich.
  5. It seems the hot chicken craze may be heading towards the same fate as the bank branch on every corner and stand-alone ER in every neighborhood.
  6. What is it about Surly that makes people double down on bad takes?
  7. I'm pretty sure you're thinking of Boomer Sooner, which of course Yale stole.
  8. I wasn't (and I haven't read any of the books). From the AMA: Season 1 of Apple TV+'s Silo has ended, and while some questions were answered, we know you have many more! Today, we're happy to welcome the author of the Silo Series, u/HughHowey to an AMA with the Silozens of r/SiloSeries. A majority of the sub has not read the books, so the mod team will be working under the assumption that those viewers do not want spoilers for future seasons. With that in mind, some guidance for participants on how moderation of this AMA will work: Questions with spoiler content from Wool Chapter 30 and on, plus Shift and Dust, will be removed. Questions with minor book spoilers from content already covered in Silo S1 (for example, questions about the book-to-show adaptation) are fine, but if it wasn't in the show and you feel it may ruin things for people planning to read later, consider using spoiler tags to mask your question. The sub's rules still apply to this event. Disrespectful, aggressive, or inflammatory comments toward other Silozens will be removed.
  9. I liked the federal courts better back when they limited their intervention into actual cases and controversies rather than hypotheticals.
  10. Because the court said so.
  11. You didn’t know this just from the title?
